Expensive toaster but I'm delighted I bought it and I did so after a lot of thought! One of the many things that annoy me is making toast that is not toasted at the top because the slots are too shallow but are not wide enough to put the bread in sideways.I make our own bread and the slices are quite thick and because the bread rises well they are also quite tall. The slots of a lot of toasters are not very deep and I checked out the depth of the slots on this toaster, and the smaller 2 slice one, and the toasting depth is about 12cm, that's not a very "tall" slice!Checked out the working dimensions of this machine and though the slot depth is 12cm the slot width is 24cm so it's fine for 4 small slices but, more importantly for us, is great for 2 tall slices put ... MoreExpensive toaster but I'm delighted I bought it and I did so after a lot of thought! I purchased this $300 toaster over 2 years ago. Several of the heating elements do not work and now the lever will not stay down so the unit dies not function at all!!!I expected to have this expensive toaster last for many years! The design is not great as bread often falls out of the racks into the bottom of the toaster which makes it difficult to retrieve. I will not be buying this brand again and would like a refund for this expensive and poorly designed toaster. Thank you.

Rubbish product. It's really only a 4 slice if you have little pieces of bread. It's not all that deep either, so don't expect to be able to toast "cafe style" thick bread. You will need to cut it in half. Burns the crust to charcoal (the smoke alarm goes off) but the rest of the bread stays white and completely & utterly dried out. This is on setting #2. Settings go up to #7 - can't imagine the carnage that would produce. If you just use ONE side of the toaster, it gives a slightly more even toasting without so much charcoal. But, if you pop another piece in, right after having "toasted" your first lot, the toaster ramps up the heat even more and you end up with burnt bread AND crust - which, as other reviewers have mentioned, presents to you a marvellous Vesuvius ... MoreRubbish product. (Dogs love it) It is hilarious that I have paid SO much money for an absolute piece of rubbish.

Alan's review of Smeg TSF02RDUK Toasters
8 May 2023

Pros: Looks very niceCons: Please listen to the reviews that say less expensive toasters are just as good, it’s true. This really isn’t any better than a £50 toaster. It doesn’t toast evenly and doesn’t have a peek option. This isn’t sour grapes, the toaster is fine and looks great, but it’s just not worth the money. Unless you want to look of the toaster save yourself some money and spend £50+, you’ll get the same results

Loved the colour but stopped working 18 months in
18 March 2023

I purchased the beautiful pink 2 slice toaster from Harvey Norman and was so happy with it until two of the sides ‘blew out’ so now the bread only toasts on one side. This has actually happened to me twice with a smeg toaster, however the first time it was replaced by Harvey Norman. I really adore the colour but this particular product doesn’t appear to live up to the usual standard of Smeg products unfortunately. Whilst I love the look of the pink appliances, I’m simply too fearful to purchase another given my experiences.

Slick black toaster with GREY plug??!
22 February 2022

I bought this toaster because I have just installed an all black architect designed kitchen. I chose this SMEG toaster because I thought it was the most streamlined BLACK toaster design. I have all black powerpoints and all my appliances have black plugs. Imagine the shock and horror when the slick black smeg toaster arrived with a grey plug! I gave feedback to SMEG and they were very rude and dismissive. The product itself is ok, probably overpriced for the functionality. Similar to other comments, it really does shoot your toast off to space (the spring mechanism is a little too enthusiastic). Not a great customer experience.

Smeg beauty

I’ve purchased this appliance only for its looks. I actually got the whole set because I love the color. I read tons of reviews and they were not good and I still made the purchase. The items are very pricey, and they feel like a plastic. I am the first to admit it is ridiculous to buy based on looks, but it fits my kitchen aesthetic amazingly. I would not recommend for the quality. They are not great appliances, but they are beautiful.

Toaster
15 September 2022

I bought this toaster for $230.00 after buying several cheaper ones, none of them toasted on both sides. At first I was pleased in how it toasted evenly on both sides. Then after 3 months of use, maybe a couple of times a week, if that, I noticed that only one side was being toasted. Knowing I spent a lot of money on it, (and it looked so good in my kitchen) I decided to live with the uneven toast. Now, after just 7 months, it just stopped working. The toast won't stay down, and when holding the knob down, it still does not heat up, period. Did I save the box, after 7 months NOOOOO.
