I won't even lie, I used to be one of those people who say "a kettle is a kettle" but now I'm a Smeg believer. I received my kettle and toaster and they were absolutely worth every single penny. For home decor lovers, a Smeg kettle is both a kitchen appliance as well an accessory. The kettle complements my all-white kitchen really well. The quality is absolutely amazing and it works really fast. The packaging was fantastic, it was sealed in two boxes, and the inner box also had some extra protective material. All in all, I can not fault my experience.I'm looking forward to my next purchase where I will be getting the smeg blender.

Pros: Makes excellent filter coffee. No drip design when the carafe is removed. Surprising number of features that I wouldn't have expected on what looks like a relatively simple filter coffee machine including, start timer, water hardness selection, beep mute option and coffee intensity which varies the speed of hot water dispensing onto the coffee and pauses the dispensing as well to allow the coffee to brew slightly longer in the basket. The 4 cup coffee option I initially thought was something to do with the speed of water dispensing if only 4 cups of water was added to the reservoir, however it actually only dispenses 4 cups of water as well even if the reservoir was topped up to 10 cups.I use disposable paper filters instead of the stainless mesh basket that ...Β MorePros: Makes excellent filter coffee. For convenience and saves washing the basket.Cons: As per other reviews, its a little awkward to fill the reservoir right handed whilst being able to watch the water level gauge. But you get used to doing it with your left hand. The shape of the carafe whilst it looks nice, doesn't allow the last few spoonful of coffee to be decanted without completely inverting it. Only noticeable in the middle of the night but the fluorescent display does emit a low buzzing noise.

I ordered the pink. It's a beautiful colour. Very substantial weight and feels good quality. I was concerned that in the photo the holes for the toast looked small but I needn't have worried as it's bigger than it looks and I've had no problems fitting my bread in there. The button to extract the bread is nice. Whilst smeg is expensive/a luxury item, in my view it's so worth it because the quality of the product is significantly better than cheaper brands that are Β£30-40 for a toaster. I couldn't go back to a Russell Hobbs now.

Pros: I've always wanted a Smeg kettle and I love it. It sits well on its base and is easily adjustable round to the way which suits. Pours beautifully. Has had a good amount of use and still looks clean with no scale. I live in a hard water area so for it to still be clean is a credit to the kettle workmanship.Cons: My only gripe is that it's not overly clear to see how full the kettle is on the display. Condensation build up and you end up gauging the level by the clear section as you fill it up. It is pricey for a kettle but it's proved to be worth it.
I am very happy with the quality of this toaster, it is the first one I have owned that actually evenly toasts all of the bread surface. It is also very good toasting bagels and leaves the one side soft and chewy whilst toasting the other ( if you remember to press the bagel button of course!) Crumb tray easy to remove. Toaster finish in black looks great. I thought a lot about the cost as it was quite expensive but worth it, I have made a good purchase.
We liked the style of the toaster and it felt like a quality product. It had strong reviews on Which.Unfortunately, from the very start - the first slices would need to be on a higher setting and then reduce it one or two notches for further slices to avoid burning. Its now completelty unpredictable and you have to stand over it / keep pushing the toast down again.I thought it only lasted a couple of years but checked back and I purchased in 2016 - so not as bad as I thought - It lasted 5 before it became pretty useless. Which I think is disappointing. So - ok (but not great) while it lasted.I now need to go into the loft and fetch Grannies old Brown and Cream flower pattern Russel Hobbs!WIll look at a Dualit next... perhaps should have gone there in the ...Β MoreWe liked the style of the toaster and it felt like a quality product. We bought this to replace a prior SMEG toaster that we liked but it stopped working (throwing the sensitive fuse on our electricity switchboard) after more than two years. I couldn't find an economical way of fixing it so reluctantly bought a replacement. We'd also bought a toasting attachment to go on top which had been pricey so we wanted an identical replacement.Unfortunately, this is smaller than our original so my plan failed. Hence it's too small for big slices of bread or for naan bread. So: check the dimensions rather than just look at the picture (as I should have done) and just hope it doesn't go wrong after two years.
Had my last Bosch toaster for more than 15 years and would gladly have it back. This Smeg whilst it looks beautiful is so disappointing. Cannot easily get the toast out (doesn't have feature to move toast up -the Additional Lift Height - had to use spatular to get my toast out when I used it for first time this morning and toasting is so incredibly poor. Seems to toast only the outside not the inside. Element doesn't seem to heat up equally. Will try to return it.
Pros: A beautiful looking piece which is Smeg's signature design promise. It makes good coffee and is easy to use. It has a timer you can set to have coffee waiting for you at a set time but you can only set one time. It is not programmable. It requires No4 coffee filters although you can opt not to use them. I use them and my coffee has no sediment, no grains and is smooth to drink.Cons: The coffee it makes is not very hot but if you leave it sit on the hot plate for ten minutes it gets hotter and is more palatable like that. I always warm my cup with hot water before pouring coffee now as I am first up in the morning. I wish it was programmable so you could have coffee at a different set time on weekends and weekdays.
