Solid helmet with a great fit/integration with Smith Squad Mag Googles. MIPS makes the helmet fit smaller than advertised, but this was OK for me. If you are at the upper end of the size limit, be wary. Pretty warm, which is great for our cloudy midwest days. Earmuffs definitely make it harder to hear people talking to you.

The first thing I noticed upon trying this helmet on was that it fit very well, had no pressure points and seemed to "disappear'' on my head. Super comfy. I like how it has a nice rounded profile too. My head measures 23" and the size L works perfect for me. I also noticed I was able to hear better for some reason with this helmet than others I tried. Possibly because the dial on the rear provides a snug fit without having to have the chin strap very tight, thus not squeezing the ear flaps too much. It's also pretty light. Weighing in at 1.17 lbs. on my digital scale. Lastly, (and importantly) my Oakley Flight Deck XM goggles mesh well with this helmet.

I ended up sticking with the allure over this helmet based on looks and the fuzzy warm ear covers. The altus and Vida have the inner net lining that prevents the plastic plugs from ripping my hair out... but the design is heavier and bulkier than the allure/maze. The boa on the Altus is great for sizing accuracy if that's your goal. My head is 55cm but I still wear altus in a large to accommodate a beanie. With the boa I can tighten it up all the way and go without the beanie when it's warmer. I loved so many things about the Altus but ultimately I preferred the allures smaller look and warmer ear covers

Great helmet for all conditions. Vents are adjustable, the back boa is easily tightened or loosened on the fly. Unlike other smith helmets the liner in this helmet is quite nice/ provides separation from the helmet's internals. I have yet to take the lid on a Tour but it is definitely the most lightweight helmet I have Owned so I doubt I will notice it in my pack.
I've only worn the helmet on one trip, but the helmet is very comfortable and warm.Pros:- Comfortable- Warm- Good ventilationCons:- A little too narrowOverall, a very good helmet. Not recommended for people with wider heads. Consider sizing up if you are in between sizes.
After 10 years of solid service from my previous Smith helmet, it was certainly time for a new one. Shopped during the cyber monday sales, and decided to go with a color pop with the matte rose. This helmet is way lighter than my previous Smith, thus more comfortable. Got the Unigear bomber wireless headphones and they fit perfectly. And of course they pair wonderfully with my new Smith OTG goggles. Super happy with the purchase!
Lightweight helmet, very comfortable. Ordered size large and it fits great with the Smith I/O Mag XL goggles. Easy to wear with airpods when you remove the square pad inside the ear. Overall great helmet, much more comfortable than my old Smith Code helmet.
Great helmet that looks like it can absorb an impact (haven't tested that yet luckily). I haven't had a chance to wear this much yet, but out of the box it is quite snug for the size. It is also quite warm. I wish the insulation was a little less so I could easily wear this while skinning uphill without sweating. Maybe as it breaks in it will loosen up a bit and lose its insulation properties. Even when it is snug it is still comfy.
Very good investment. I was overdue for a new lid. The ear pads got a little uncomfortable and kind of wish I would have gone with a little more premium helmet. But it saved my face once already and was a huge upgrade from my old one. BOA system would be a nice touch but it's nice to have adjustable vents
I bought this to replace my 8 year old Smith aspect ski helmet. Older reviews have said that the fit is small and tight on the crown or top of the head. I completely agree. The moment I put this helmet on I new it wasn't going to work( even though it is the same size as my old one). I felt an instant headache coming on. No way I could wear this for hours skiing. The quality of the back goggle strap holder, venting lever and chin strap is really good and it is a good looking helmet. It's just to tight at the top of my head.I had no problems returning to the store after ordering online.
