I have bought Smith & Noble products in the past & have been happy with the items. Unfortunately this toaster is a disappointment. It browns unevenly & the top of the toaster is so hot that removing the toast is dangerous. It is not possible to use the slice lifter without incurring finger burns. The opening may be wide but the slice depth is shallow.
