It creates 2 problems:1 - It is impossible to use them as the oval neck does not lock in the gas making machine.2 - The cap is very hard to screw on top, due to the oval shape problem...Note that these bottles were along side other plastic items in the dishwasher. My other plastic items did not move. Never did. The diswasher was running on a regular load and drying temperature. Nothing extreme. I tried getting through to SodaStream by phone but I was just waiting for ages then phone suddenly disconnected?? Help. We can’t have a soda stream without any fizz! We are still trying to contact SodaStream by phone, as I think we need either a new machine or a new C02 bottle?? Customer Services are not good at all!!

Let me preface this by saying I drink a lot of sparkling water. I mean a LOT. Typically I would stop at my local grocery store at least twice a week to grab several packs. It's the carbonation that I crave, not the flavor. That being said I was getting tired of stopping at the store, buying more than just the water I stopped to get, and having to lug it all back into the house. I've known about SodaStream for a while now and was curious. Luckily I happened to look at the site as there was a discount deal and decided to jump on it. The Terra was super easy to set up. Instructions were simple and easy to understand. You only need to pull the machine out, pop in the co2 canister, and snap the back in. Silly me didn't take the pink cap off the canister the first time and I couldn't figure why it wouldn't snap into the machine right. Needless to say my head was still in work mode after getting home and after realizing my mistake the co2 popped right in. I personally like my water a little extra fizzy and find 3 to 4 pumps is more than enough for me. Your water quality will determine the taste slightly. I have filtered well water and find it palatable but you can run your water through a separate filter if needed. The machine isn't too loud, it's honestly quieter than expected and fits perfectly on the counter without taking up a lot of space. I've have it for several weeks now and don't miss the store bought sparkling water. Trying out the different flavors of syrups has been fun too.

Easy to Use

This is a great product - it's simple and easy to use and offers a lot of variety in flavors. I tried out some of the cocktail recipes for a holiday party and had some great success! Would love to see the recipe section on the site updates more frequently. The negative feedback I have is mostly about the purchasing experience. Purchasing the product online was a bit confusing because it's hard to tell if there is actually a difference between the machines other than looks and hard to tell what comes with each kit (the numbers so so small on the website). I was also confused when I got my machine as to why 2 of the bottles I received with it are not considered dishwasher safe. Why even offer these? The website was also so slow when I was trying to purchase it that I almost couldn't get the order through. I checked back later and it was back to normal - but not long after that, the site went down completely.

Ingenuity

I’ve had the older model machine - which uses the wider, squatter bottles, for over a year. The fizzy water is delicious, and saves on plastic waste. The cylinders don’t last as long as I had expected or hoped, and they are not cheap. But the total cost is way less than buying seltzer at the store - even the cheap seltzer, which of course is awful.I purchased a couple of additional bottles. Unfortunately, they were a bit taller and more slender, and did not fit onto my machine. But, in the great McGyver tradition, I sawed off the piece at the base. The new bottles fit, and the piece fits easily back in place, for the original bottle.Beware of this bottle size issue, but don’t be fooled into needlessly buying a second unit.

One of my favorite kitchen items

I’ve been waiting to purchase one of these for over a year. I never should have waited. I love it! With 3 pumps it makes the perfect water. There’s no electricity so you can use this anywhere. Just pop in the cartridge and pump the button on top. Bubly used to be my favorite water but I would only drink half a can and waste the rest. I can make this sparkling water and pour as much as I’d like. I just add fresh lemon to mine and it’s great. When you purchase a new CO2 canister, exchange the canisters at customer service, so there’s no waste and I believe they give you a gift card. It ends up being more cost effective than canned water. Note about the blue green color: the color is blue, I thought it was blue/green but irl it’s blue.

The ingredients list on SodaStream website does not contain all the information on the ingredients list. Maybe the company doesn't want us to see that information.I have not used the SodaStream machine, so I will likely return it unless I can find an alternative to the drops with additives other than natural flavour.

Quick and easy home made seltzer
18 April 2022

After debating for a year about buying a Sodastream I finally purchased the Terra version in blue and have no regrets! I drink only water all day and like drinking seltzer as an alternative to flat/still water. I was buying bottled seltzer in various flavors but found I could drink a whole bottle fast. With the Sodastream I am able to control the level of carbonation and reduce my use of plastic disposable bottles. I personally prefer just adding fruit to the water for flavor, but we have also used Mio drops and the Sodastream bubly brand flavors. I am now purchasing the smaller Sodastream bottles so that I can take a bottle to work instead of buying cans of bubly every week. Overall, if you are a seltzer fan, Sodastream is a great option. The machine itself is easy to use but the button on top has quite a bit of travel, which we didn't realise at first, so we think it needs pressing fully to the bottom - but is it held for 1 second once you start pressing or once fully pressed then held for a second? No big deal I suppose either way, but it suggests 3 presses for normal fizz, up to 5 for more fizz - 3 presses doesn't seem to make it fizzy like shop bought drinks i.e. when gently shaking the flavours in it doesn't want to explode everywhere (that's a good!), so maybe 5 is the way to go, but then you'll get through a gas canister quicker and it'll cost you more in the long run.So if you're ok with a fizziness that's like a shop pop that's been open a few days, 3 is OK, If you'll only think this ... MoreThe machine itself is easy to use but the button on top has quite a bit of travel, which we didn't realise at first, so we think it needs pressing fully to the bottom - but is it held for 1 second once you start pressing or once fully pressed then held for a second?
