I was looking for an entrenching tool shovel to dig ~4 inch holes. Rather than the typical ~6 inch wide E-tool shovels I decided to buy this because it was advertised as being 3.5 inches wide. I was happy to find this so that I didn't have to use a hand trowel however when I received it I measured it as 6 inches wide. The website and packaging it came it said 3.5 inches wide and they did not send me a different model because this is the only one. Otherwise I like the design of the shovel, it tightens firmly and does not rattle, and it is lightweight at 2.1 lbs. When I pull the shovel out of the case it scratches the inside of the case so I would recommend it be sold with a guard over the saw portion.As it is I may recommend it as a 6" wide shovel but I would need ... Got this neat shovel and thought it was great fir family camping as it makes it so much easier to dig out a small fire pit area .What I really like the most about it is the small teeth on one side that helps rid you of small twigs and shrub around the area. Sure does come in handy when you need it. It also folds in its own little case which makes it easier to carry or attaches to your belt or a clip if need be. Totally recommend

This shovel is very light in weight and easy to carry in the case. The material feels very durable and seems like it will last a long time. The shovel comes with a rubber handle that gives you a nice grip well using it. And when you are all done using the shovel it's easy to fold it back up. This shovel locks into place when you unfold it to use. And when you are through using it you just fold it and it snap down in place. Its a great feature to have so you know the shovel is secure and won't open back up on you unless you snap it back out to use. The sol field shovel works great! I recently used it on a camping trip and worked exactly as I hoped. The serrated side make it easy to dig through small roots, while the carrying case and compact nature makes it easy to pack. It is a little heavier than I would like which can be important when packing light for a longer trip. I had recommended it to several friends while camping. Can’t wait to take it metal detecting.
I just got this product yesterday and it is extremely strong and sturdy. Great bag that it comes with folds easy and unfolds easy. Just twist! My husband has taken ownership of it for hunting.
The Sol packable field shovel is nice and compact. It tri-folds down and has a carrying case with a handle. To unfold, you just unfold it in a z-type pattern and tighten the twist-lock. To fold down, twist the lock lose and fold. It's somewhat easy to pinch your finger so watch out for that. If you don't twist it just right, the shovel will appear to just dangle back and forth; if this happens, re-tighten. The handle is wide and easy to hold. The shovel is durable, hard carbon steel and it's serrated on one side. This would be great for camping, or even keeping in your vehicle. I would recommend.
I recently received the Packable Field Shovel to try and review. The shovel comes with a strong case to either carry or strap on a belt. The shovel opens easy and has an awesome twist to lock in place to make this position secure. I plan on keeping this shovel in my trunk it's so small and portable. I can see getting many years of use from my shovel.
This is a nice little shovel; it is very durable and easy to carry around. The case it comes in is nice and seems very strong. My husband is very impressed with how lightweight it is and can't wait to take it with us on our camping trip; he also likes it for doing small jobs around the house. It is easy to store, and I like how easy the handle is to grip. I definitely would recommend this shovel.
I got the Sol Packable Field Shovel a few days ago, and I love it!! It is compact and comes in a nice little bag. You can put it in your backpack, or even have it stored in your car. Can be used for any number of things, like camping, or an emergency shovel for you car, or even to use around the house. It is made really well and is very sturdy. It is super easy to assemble and ready to use in no time!! I think this is an awesome tool, and would highly recommend to everyone!!!
