The next mark is infinity, so it should not take that long to focus.

I use it with a basic NEX-3N and I have no complaints. I correct the deformation in Lightroom and got good results! As a beginners lens is one of my favorites!
Besides fish eye lens, this is the widest A mount APS-C size lens. It's low cost. It's effective. It's easy to use. It doesn't have focusing motor build in, so focusing is not quiet, and it's kinda slow. If you are taking scenery pictures, that should not be a problem because the focus ring marks end at 3 meters. The next mark is infinity, so it should not take that long to focus.
I had never used a wide angle lens like this before. The world opened up and I 'see' things differently and the possibilities. The extras in the bundle were all germane and great quality.The lens was packed well, arrived ahead of time and I am pleased with the whole experience. Happy little camper.
I use the lens for indoor and outdoor shots of homes under construction. The lens is fast enough in a room lit with daylight, but not fast enough for unlit attic spaces. If you have enough light this is an amazing lens. There is only the slightest distortion (barreling) at the widest focal length.
Love this lens. Works great on sweeping landscapes and does surprisingly beautiful macro work too! Maybe something I'm doing but I've had some difficulties with shadows in my photos that appear to be from the lens itself.
The lens has no blemishes or defects and its focusing and aperture works perfectly!
Nice lens. Even though it'll will be used on a full frame DSLR (A99), it fills a need for landscape photos. As the A99 automatically shifts to APS-C mode, this lens works well for me.
Used it on holiday in Canada. It took some of my favourite pictures. Pin sharp in the centre. Only if you zoom in 1-1 can you see some slight chromatic aberration in the extreme corners of the image. These should not be a problem unless you wish to expand the image to the size of a wall.
Overall very nice lens as noted above. Would be better if it went down to a 2.0 f stop. Also would be nicer if it was a little wider such as an 8 or 9 mm since it is really 1.5 times the mm due to the digit sensor. It is terrific in moderate to full light on the seashore, the mountains, the woods and other landscape locations. Not so great in dimly lit theatre or sports locations when trying to get a wide angle view.
