I’ve had this camera almost a week now and it’s been in my hands every day. I work with cameras and wanted a body that could make the most out of my Sony glass but was smaller and lighter than what I use professionally. I wanted something fun.So far, this camera has fit the bill. The tradeoffs (single card slot, smaller EVF, lower frame rate) don’t bother me in practice, and I find myself actually carrying the camera with me more often. This wouldn’t be my go-to camera for professional video, sports, wedding coverage, but it’ll do the job in a pinch. The image quality and auto focus are top-notch and the control layout is smart and effective.Great balance of size, features, price and design. No excuses not to have this camera with you.

This upgrade solved pretty much every issue I had with the original A7c. The EVF is bigger and much brighter, the menu system is much easier to navigate, the fact that I can shoot in 10bit color makes color grading much more predictable. The IBIS is much better, the ability to assign a LUT to the files in camera makes it so much easier. This is one upgrade that I am absolutely thrilled with. Thanks Sony.

I’ve had the Sony A7iv for awhile and it’s been fantastic. I’ve always lusted after the size of A7c, but it was just too limited. The A7cii is near perfect with its 33mp sensor, additional dials/buttons, new AI/AF, improved LCD and EVF, LUT support, internal Timelapse, auto framing, new menu system, marker display for photos, etc., all while maintaining a compact and light form factor. It took me awhile to customize all the settings and dials because I was not able to import the A7iv settings into the A7cii. The buttons feel a bit different than the A7iv (less travel), and obviously the smaller body means the grip and feel is different. But this is what I wanted when I originally bought the A7iv, and I’m glad Sony finally delivered.

This camera is a BEAST!!! It's like magick, it does everything & more. I'm obsessed with it. I upgraded from the a7III (which is now my secondary camera) & that camera is still a beast it keeps up with all the new cameras. The only thing that's different is the auto-tracking which is 1000x's better on the a7c II, the 33mp's are a difference too esp when ur using good glass. The resolution is insane & even though I'm an amateur videographer the a7c II makes it look pro no matter what. I bought this camera mainly for my photography business (@hocusfocusphotography on ig & fb) & it's def made an upgrade to my work. Every still looks like it came straight out of an editorial magazine!Follow me for reviews on Tt @TwiggyxStardust.Xx
I have been a long time Sony user and I have to say, out of all of the Sony cameras I have, this one is the one I've been grabbing the most! The small form factor makes it just that much easier to take around, throw in my sling bag, and keep on me as my every day carry camera. The 33MP Full-Frame sensor creates sharp images and allows a lot of head room for cropping if (1) you have a prime lens and couldn't get close enough to your subject, or (2) you plan to use an APS-C lens with this camera which can make this set up even SMALLER! Using APS-C lenses will bring the megapixels down to 14MP but that is still PLENTY of resolution to post on social media and for comparison, the Sony ZV-E1 only has 12 MP and that camera is comparable to this one.I bought this mostly ... MoreI have been a long time Sony user and I have to say, out of all of the Sony cameras I have, this one is the one I've been grabbing the most! After almost 2 years of talking about and pining for this camera, I finally got my hands on it, and yet, now I am actually faced with an unexpected dilemma, should I keep it when I already own, possibly a better compact camera!(Check out my complete thoughts in the below video)Yet, this is an easy recommendation for anybody looking for a hybrid camera... and it's a perfect upgrade from the original; almost everything about it has been improved. The handling alone, is enough of a reason for you to buy this over the original A7C!
I bought the original A7C back in 2021. It was one of the best investments I made in my life. At the time I had one YouTube channel that I was trying to grow. And after upgrading my gear from an iPhone to an actual full frame mirrorless camera, I started seeing results and my audience was appreciating the bump in quality. Let me say it is like night and day filming in 10 bit 4:2:2 in S-Log 3.There is so much dynamic range editing in post is insane! The A7C is still a great camera and is still my b-cam, but the A7C II has become my new favorite camera.I’m super excited to use this for years to come!
I’m a commercial photographer who’s been shooting Sony for 10 years and had been using the A1 and A7sIII since their introduction. I was intrigued by the first iteration of the A7C but it looked like a camera that would need a version II to meet my needs. The wait was worth it. Some online reviews find fault with the EVF of the A7CII. I can’t agree. The enhancement to Eye AF since the introduction of the A7III and the AI is subtle, but it’s there. This is a really good camera.
The first version of this camera was great, but definitely lacked an additional front dial and was burdened by Sony‘s old menu system. This new version fixes both of those things which more than makes the upgrade worth it. Additionally, there’s an improved sensor improved auto focus, a chunkier grip (that’s a good thing). It’s such a great light camera to carry around and it packs just as much punch as the other cameras and the alpha lineup.
Been in the Sony ecosystem since getting an Alpha 7ii in 2014. Been wanting to upgrade for a while but the A7 iii and A7 iv bodies have grown bigger with each generation. Thank goodness for the A7C ii, which brings all the latest features and performance of the newer models but in a body that retains the original A7’s best feature — its compactness. If you can snag an A7C (first gen) on sale, thats still a tempting buy for the price, but if you’re looking for a Sony full-frame with the latest autofocus (its pretty darn amazing) that’ll travel well and last for years to come, the A7Cii is close to ideal.
