Straight out of the box the Sony 55” X85L impressed me with its slim bezel design. Its multitude of ports that caters to your fancy such as its dual USB ports, digital audio out, AV in, its 4 HDMI ports which is plenty. Don’t know why anyone would use that in this day and age but it's always useful to have.Whilst setting up I had an issue where I didn’t have a desk big enough to fit the TV as the legs would be at the ends of the TV to give it more stability but to my surprise Sony actually thought about this. The feet are actually adjustable! You can slot the feet closer to each other so you can place the TV on a smaller table(TV is approx 140cm). That really hit home for me as it showed they actually thought about the consumer whilst producing this TV. Aside from the TV itself, I was a bit puzzled to see two TV remotes instead of the usual one. Began to wonder what the difference was so I searched it online. One is a regular looking remote which is apparently an (IR)Infrared remote controller without the google assistant and MIC button(Didn’t like this one so much). The other one is the one I really love. It’s a (RF) Radio frequency controller with the google assistant and MIC button. Makes things so much easier just by speaking to it. It’s essentially like an Amazon Fire stick built in already. The remote also comes with buttons for your Netflix,Bravia Core, Disney+, Prime Video, Youtube and Crunchyroll. Can you imagine a Crunchyroll button? The feel, weight and balance of the controller in your palm is something I really appreciated as well.On to the viewing experience, I quickly switched on Netflix but didn’t have the 4k version so didn’t do the TV justice. Having said that, the colour reproduction on this TV is amazing. Its Full Array LED is a tech I really enjoy. When my windows are open and the room is filled with light there isn’t this cloudy look to it. The pictures are still very sharp and the colours are vibrant. That being said I actually enjoy watching shows/movies and even YouTube on the TV now. It’s actually made me want to subscribe for 4k viewing on different streaming platforms. All in all I’d say this TV is absolutely worth getting, be it for gaming or for that cinema experience you’re looking for. There is so much upside and little to no downside for this TV and would recommend anyone who is looking for a 55 inch Full Array LED TV for their next purchase.

My AF8 has covers which fit over all the cables hiding them from view , allowing you to channel them together . The X85L , has them showing at the side of the TV , cosmetically not ideal , and would be annoying for wall mounting I would thinkHow does the picture and sound compare?Picture comparison using SkyQ , mini led vs oled screen. Very good indeed, my wife and I watched both screens at once to compare. The sharpness was excellent, colours bright , very good blacks and contrast , possibly not as wide a viewing angle as the oled , but not enough to matterThe sound , 2 x 10 W speakers , vs acoustic screen . Volume capabilities was very good as well , no distortion at high levels, and fills a large roomOther bitsIt is a google smart tv , which does take a while to get used to , unless you already have one .there are 2 remotes , which I think could have been better incorporated into one bigger more robust remote , these feel a bit flimsyOverall opinionAll I want from a TV , is a good viewing experience, and to be able to hear the dialogue.
