I recently upgraded to Sony's X75WL TV, and there are some notable improvements, but also a few disappointments that I'd like to share. On the bright side, the integration of Google TV software is a welcome change from the Android TV experience I had with my previous 2021 model. The interface is smoother, and I appreciate the fresh look and feel. It's user-friendly and makes navigating through content and apps more convenient. However, my excitement waned when I realised that the picture quality remained virtually unchanged from my previous TV. It's not that the picture quality is bad; it's just that I expected Sony to push the envelope a bit more in this aspect. One aspect I found disappointing was the inability to customize the home screen, which was possible ... On the X75WL, Google TV seems to take over, and apps and shows that I may not want front and centre automatically populate the screen. In my previous model, I had the flexibility to arrange and hide sections or apps, making the home screen more personalised. I really wish Sony and Google could bring back this feature or incorporate it in a software update. In summary, the X75WL TV is a mixed bag. The transition to Google TV is a step in the right direction for user interface and overall user experience, but the lack of improvement in picture quality is disappointing. Furthermore, the loss of customisation options for the home screen is a significant drawback. I hope Sony and Google can address these issues in future updates and make the X75WL a more well-rounded and customizable TV.

Earlier this year I bought another Smart TV (different manufacturer) and it took ages to set up. Despite strong wifi signal and all the various passwords to hand, it took an age with so many teething problems. So when the Sony TV arrived I was a bit dubious; I'm not a technophobe by any stretch but sometimes setting up a new bit of tech is daunting. I needn't have worried. From box to set up took fifteen minutes max. OK firstly, the basics; it's a lovely slim design and fits in nicely. It's light to manoeuvre into position - I used the stand but with a slim TV like this it would look great on a wall. The picture is as pin sharp and crisp as you like, I've had HD TVs in the past but nothing like this. I've watched nature documentaries, feature films and TV series ... The picture is as pin sharp and crisp as you like, I've had HD TVs in the past but nothing like this. I've watched nature documentaries, feature films and TV series and it really does give you that home cinema feel. Even my soundbar has been retired off as the quality of the sound doesn't need anything else - I've tried it at high volume (and I mean high volume, sorry neighbours) and there is no noticeable deterioration at all. I guess there maybe audiophiles who would splash out for a soundbar but to be honest, I cannot fault the sound at all. As a previous owner of Youview, I was pleased that this was incorporated as it makes it so easy to check out the TV guide and catch up on anything from the usual places BBC, ITV, Channel 4 etc. Google TV was a great bonus as all the Apps I needed were preloaded, although I have added more since and it is so surprisingly easy even for an old bloke like me. Film and Series suggestions are frighteningly accurate I found and helped me try out things completely new to me. Something else that has been a revelation is the voice search - even if you don't know what you're looking for it'll find it (that historical thing with Cate Blanchett in helped me with my brain fog). Link it up with Alexa and you can go hands free! Casting is a piece of cake too, so much better than huddling round a phone screen to watch family videos. I really feel as though I've only just started to to make use of the tech in this TV, there's so much more that I'm still yet to find out!I've tried to find fault but I've failed. If you like great sound and vision and super reactive controls, this is the TV for you. I can't wait for the football season to start now!

The in-built sound system with the TV is good - it has a very clear audio and is nicely balanced - we have also tried it with a separate Sony soundbar and speaker setup and it was exceptional - especially for movies, where you get a really immersive sound quality - but the standard built-in speakers are honestly excellent quality and will easily fill a medium sized room without any difficulty. The product is a nice size, is very lightweight, and looks the part on our existing TV stand, with a very full screen and picture (minimal bordering around the TV).Please note the above is based on a standing version of the TV - we have not (and do not intend to) try it wall-mounted.

This television has replaced my previous Sony Bravia 43” Smart television which I purchased six years ago and which has provided excellent trouble free service since I bought it.Setting up the new one and tuning it in was very easy to do.It was good to see that all the input sockets are all conveniently located together on one side of the set making cable routing tidy.Sony’s ECO Dashboard allows you to make adjustments that help to reduce the power consumption of the set and save you up to 30% on your usage.Once it was up and running I was pleasantly surprised to see just how good the picture quality is thanks to Sony’s 4K picture processor X1 which brings scenes vividly to life in bright true to life detail with strong colours and high contrast.Ultra High ... Channel listings are clearly displayed and it’s also easy to access the “catch up” services such as the BBC iPlayer , ITV X, CH4 etc.The Google Home page displays viewing suggestions for you based on your existing viewing habits and preferences, it covers all the main content providers. Most of the apps you need are all on the home screen and you can download others if you wish from the play store. “Now” tv was absent so I simply downloaded it from the Play store and it now resides on the home screen.Personally I would have liked a bit more control over the layout of the home screen and also to be able to “hide” apps that I have no interest in, just to tidy up and simplify the home screen and organise things to my liking.I was really surprised to find that there was no “Google Movies” app shortcut anywhere, especially as this is a Google TV!After a bit of google searching I found that it is built in but you have to access it by using the built in microphone on the remote control and asking it to “open google movies” which it does. Maybe something for a future update? The ability to use voice commands proved to be really useful the more I used it.The TV comes supplied with two small remote controls, please see my photo’s. Personally I would have preferred to have just one remote that covered all the functions. The menu structure is very good and accessing the settings menu to make adjustments to the picture and sound etc. is much improved over the previous model.Five free movies are available automatically with this set when load up the Sony Core movie channel. The channel offers higher picture quality to the likes of Netflix and Amazon and no registration is required! To conclude I have to say that this is a truly excellent television. It offers fantastic picture quality with a good feature set. It is excellent value for money and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.You will not be disappointed!
I would 100% recommend this TV, and this is the reasons why not only does it come with two remote controls of which one is a standard remote control that everyone will be used to any other remote control is a more digital version , both do exactly the same job with the same features, but just in a slightly different format , also the fact that this TV does come with an instruction paper manual, but it has a digital set up version as well which talks you through how to set the TV up correctly and upload all the apps stuff of that nature , which, for someone like me, that’s a complete and utter 1990s tech person found it very easy to set up , the picture quality is brilliant. It also has four HDMI sockets which are interchangeable which means gone of the days of when if you want to plug the skybox in through an HDMI cable you had to use a specific socket or a sound bar in another socket. You can put whatever you want to plug in in any socket and it will recognise what’s your plugging in. , the internal sound system is quite good and if you just used that alone, you would be quite happy with it , but I’m using a Sony sound bar with sub box plugged in via HDMI cable and it is brilliant. The picture quality is great. The fact that the TV is completely black in colour is good for me there’s no chrome as I do like a black TV. It also is wall mountable, but you will have to make provisions for the cables and please bear in mind this particular TV no longer has a Scott socket so if you’re using older tech that doesn’t have facilities for an optical cable or a HDMI cable then it may not be compatible with this TV unless there’s an adapter out there , this particular model is available in this size and a bigger version and one thing I would like to add regarding the remote control. If your other product is plugged in such as a DVD player, for example, a sound bar you get my drift, they can all be controlled with the one TV remote control. I’ve had the TV now a couple of weeks and I haven’t found any negatives. I watch the Glastonbury festival on the TV and the picture quality was brilliant
This TV looks well, the tiny, almost imperceptible bevel adds to it's perceived screen size and it is forgotten once watching. It is lightweight slim and doesn't overwhelm a medium sized room with its presence. The picture is very good as would be expected from Sony, the colours are vibrant and the blacks are black enough I am not going to dwell on how black, it is not that important to me or to the viewing quality, enough to say nothing is blurred, everything is sharp and clean.I do think Sony is sitting on its laurels where the software is concerned, they seem to be behind in comparison to others I have tried. Its clunky and unintuitive. Why are there TWO remotes, surely a company with the technological background of the mighty Sony corporation have the ability to combine the functions into just the one remote control? The menu's are just not friendly and there is absolutely No manual accompanying the TV just a huge multi language sheet and some loose leaf stuff, none of which is that helpful to navigate the menus. Some things seem automatic, I searched in vain for the control to switch back to the TV speakers from my sound bar and all I needed to do was switch off the sound bar and wait, the speakers on the TV came in by themselves, but I had wasted time looking for the control. The sync between the TV and the soundbar is not automatic either and it needs adjusting with the soundbar software not the TV every other TV I have used this sound-bar with has automatically adjusted! Everything was out of flunter films, live broadcasts and normal TV, most annoying to see the lips moving without the sound in sync. There are two main methods to set the TV up, nothing is straightforward, using the Google tv is quite annoying with the amount of personal info required. But I can’t blame Sony for that. The other method is as a basic TV still more complicated than necessary. Using Freeview or Freesat is accommodated but again the setup is fiddly. I am squeezing four stars, though begrudgingly because the rest is so good.Beautiful TV, lovely picture quality, averagely priced in the 43" range but needs work on the software, remote(S) and manual I think.
The first positive is how easy the TV is to set up. I am dyslexic and sometimes struggle with detailed instructions, but the brief written/diagrammatic steps are easy to follow and then the TV prompts the rest of the set up. Adding apps is much easier than my old smart TV. If you are really stuck, the voice control is helpful but certain commands in apps are not available. The picture is so deep it is almost 3D. The real beauty of nature programmes can be fully appreciated, and the clarity makes it virtually immersive. The sound quality is excellent, even without additional speakers, but I managed to connect a sound bar easily. The size is perfect for my lounge (50 inch), giving us a cinema-like experience. Get your popcorn ready! Now, if you want to impress your friends and family, get them over for a gaming night on your new Sony TV. My brother-in-law was anticipating a good experience because the Bravia TVs come well recommended due to their flagship gaming console: Playstation 5. He threw a curveball and also tried an X-box Series X, but the TV was just as happy with the X-box as it was the Playstation. He said, "It's like playing in a movie!", which you don't experience on many other TVs. The next gaming generation is 120Hz, but the TV doesn't support this refresh rate. This won’t make a difference to your average gamer. It still has beautiful clarity while playing. It doesn’t support HDR10 however, again, it has sufficient contrast in a well-lit room not to be hindered. There is a gaming mode to avoid input lag.You will not be disappointed with this TV.
Unboxing the Sony Bravia Ultra HD TV was like any other Sony I’ve had over the last four years. My last Sony TV was an excellent Bravia KD 49XF7596 and it looked almost identical to the new X75WL, apart from being a bit smaller, and that where the similarity ends.At first start up it will take you through a step by step process in setting up google TV settings and another great built in app Bravia Core to which I signed up to. I love the Google TV app giving you a load of apps as well as streaming services.I will be honest and find having two remotes a bit of a bind. You have one for normal TV operation including tuning FreeSat and Freeview, and another remote for Bravia Core, NetFlix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, and crunchyroll animation app.All in all, for its excellent price, this is an excellent 4K HD TV that I am proud to say I own….
I have been considering upgrading my 32inch TV for some time and I am so please to have now done this with the Sony Bravia KD-43X75WL. The whole process of replacing my old TV with this one has been very positive from the moment of unpacking right through to watching it most evening for the last three weeks. The look of it is great, its minimalist design means it is just an elegant TV that is stylish and looks good even when it is not being used. There is a method for attaching it to a wall if that is preferred.Connection to my broadband was easy as was the channel setup. It comes with two remote controls, one as a full remote and the other a scaled down version with direct access buttons for You Tube, Netflix, Prime, Disney etc. A nice touch is that batteries were supplied so you can be up and running in no time. What really matters to me at the end of the day is the picture quality and it is very difficult to judge exactly how good a TV’s picture is without a side by side comparison. So with that said the picture quality is very good especially when in digital mode. Sharp and bright with natural looking colours and good contrast. No match in terms of sharpness when compared with OLED but then that is reflected in the price. The picture is little less impressive when viewing through the arial with Freeview, but totally satisfactory none the less.Built in audio is very good, so good that I can’t always tell whether its the sound bar or the TV sound system. All in all I am delighted with this TV.
Looking at the vast list of features that this TV provides it’s hard to not be impressed. The main reason for purchasing this was to have a TV that could make full advantage of my PS5 and being also being made by Sony it was a perfect match. The PS5 is instantly recognised and after a quick setup routine I had perfect 4K HDR 10 beautifully smooth and awe inspiring graphics. The remote can even be used to navigate the PS5 but all the media features you’ll ever need are built into the TV. It includes the Google TV Play Store, both Freesat satellite and digital aerial YouView TV. Every Media App you can think of, Alexa routines, Google Voice Assistant, which is even built into the remote, and of course there’s Chromecast but as an Apple user I was very impressed to see ... This is rare and has been perfect for sharing pictures and videos with friends and family. The old separate Fire stick is now stuffed in a drawer. It includes 4 HDMI ports, all capable of running the full 4K HDR experience and even Dolby Atmos sound built in!It’s unbelievably intuitive and easy to use and easily the best TV I’ve ever owned, everything else just can’t be compared. It’s incredible value and has better features than TVs at twice the price but all as the highest quality.I couldn’t be more impressed. And yes, there is no small light on the TV when it’s on or off to distract you! It really is an engineering masterpiece that a lot of thought has been put into. The feature list it too long to list here but I can safely say you will not be disappointed, I haven’t been this excited about a new piece of Tech in our home for long time!Excellent, very happy customer!Did I also mention it comes with free films, 6 years guarantee and eco friendly packaging design and functionality!Highly highly recommended.
