Sony Playstation 3 - Game Console - Full HD, 1080i, HD, 480p, 480i - 320 GB HDD - Charcoal Black

I now have two PS3 120GB Slim (originals, not the redesigned slim), and I use them solely for watching Blu-Ray movies and streaming (Netflix & Amazon Instant/Prime). In my opinion, this is still probably the best Blu-Ray player & streaming device on the market at this time. Watching Netflix in 1080p & 5.1 audio is great. I like the looks of the original slim PS3 over the newer, redesigned slim, which just looks & feels cheap. Blu-Rays and DVDs look great. Upconversion for SD content works very well in my opinion.This console itself feels solid & well constructed, and is attractive. I also like having a user-replaceable hard drive. I will probably install SSDs at some point, to reduce noise & power. Everything is easy to setup, although the the menu is a bit of a mess.I have some minor gripes: 1) the system can seem a bit slow & is not always smooth; probably a limitation of RAM & the Cell CPU. 2) The Sony PS3 Blu-Ray/Media Remote 2.0 (not included with the console) works well, but is missing some features like illuminated buttons. 3) There aren't very many apps for the PS3 (I only have Netflix, Amazon Instant/Prime, & YouTube installed). 4) Only IEEE 802.11G wireless LAN, no dual-band N or AC. 5) The game controllers feel small & cheap in my hands; the XBox 360 has much better controllers. 6) It can get a bit noisy; I can hear the system fans from time to time as well as some annoying drive access sounds (although it is still less noisy than my XBox 360 Elite). 7) No PS2 game compatibility for physical media.I'd still recommend this to people for two reasons: 1) for watching Blu-Rays & streaming movies/shows, and 2) if you're a gamer and Sony has exclusive titles that you want to play. This is probably the best media hub short of an HTPC.

I was slightly concerned when buying the PS3 online, especially without even checking if it worked or not and with it being a used version. It was a Christmas present, the person said he'd prefer if we bought the used cause it was cheaper and he didn't want us to spend to much money but I was still HIGHLY concern and worried about getting it. However, when it came in it was far better than expected. It was in a condition like new, no scratches clean memory and everything included that should be. It arrived on February 17th, we ordered later than most for Christmas so don't worry about shipping time it actually came in earlier than said it would, and the person we bought it for started playing it that night. He has no trouble, other than our slow internet, working the Playstation Network or getting his gamer tag to take. His downloads work out smoothly. He had disk games already for it and it reads them well. He also uses it for Netflix and works great for him. So defiantly a good buy on our part.

The PlayStation 3 was the very first console I ever bought for myself. I bought it for my birthday. At the time it was part of a Call of Duty bundle at Walmart. I absolutely loved it! It was definitely waaaaaay better compared to the PlayStation 2. The graphics were soooo much better than the PS2. The controller no longer had to be plugged into the console and the system seemed faster. I loved that the games would have updates to them to fix issues and even updates to the console itself. I no longer needed to buy a memory card to save my progress on games. You still had to download games to the console even if you had the disc, just like on the PS4 and PS5. Nowadays that features pretty standard, but I remember that at the time having a gaming console that could also play the top of the line movies in your home was a game changer. Didn't wipe the system literally or figuratively

System arrived 2.5 weeks after I order it. Was nasty, one swipe and the clorox wipe was brown. The system memory was not wiped to factory settings and the last owner (james) was still signed into to PSN.The aftermarket controler that came with it was absolute trash. It is so bad that it should have never been produced in the first place, I can not over state how bad it is. I didn't expect a original coontroler but I did expect better quality than this dollar store remote (as I have had many aftermarket controllers in my time) Also the $30 up charge for a original controller is a but much. I can get a new one elsewhere for that

Games forever

I ordered the PlayStation 3 slim console came with a controller I also ordered the camera the PlayStation move wand and the PlayStation move controller. The console works great I haven't stopped playing it since I got it I bought it for all the light gun games basically. So the PlayStation move camera the wand and the controller all work great with my light gun games. This is actually the second console I bought from you guys. I also bought a Playstation 2 slim not too long ago before I ordered your PlayStation 3. Also awesome and I've been getting more use out of these than my new Xbox One. Not the ps3 ss that I ordered. Also Japanese.

I ordered a ps3 super slim model cech 4201b, specifically because it was a newer model than the others available. Not only did I receive a different model number (cech 4000b) but the console was a Japanese release, meaning the buttons were reversed on everything. I know there's not much difference in the 2 models, but it's the principle. I should get what I ordered, and if it's Japanese, advertise it that way. It's just shady not to. I would never buy from this seller again. Just go to Back Market where their sellers are rated better, items are priced better, AND they include a 1 year warranty at no cost.

Terrible Example of a PS3 Super Slim

Upon receiving the product, the outside was in very average shape, and was CAKED in dust. Bits of chipped away plastic from the outside areas was also definitely a let down. As a technology professional, I was interested in the inside of this console. According to what you guys mention on your website, "refurbished" and "clean". I'm sad and disappointed that you can put that on your website and make these guarantees, after the condition my PS3 was in. It appears the PS3 was water damaged and went for a nice swim sometime during it's life. If you understand how life works, you'd realise that water damage leads to rust, which was the explanation of the rust and corrosion on the back on my console. It's also sad that you are listing such a terrible condition console for such a big amount of money, $400 Australian Dollars (AUD) to be exact.If the rust and dust wasn't enough, I found that the PS3's disc sliding-door was in terrible condition, getting stuck in certain places along the rails, which was resolved after I took out a nice chunk of plastic, sitting on the clog tray. Very disappointing, for a store that sells "great condition consoles". I hope you find some new people in the tech department to restore or "refurbish" these consoles, because whoever did "restored" or "refurbished" my console, must've been blind and stupid, at the same time.
