Sleek PS1 styling, great performance and even a few nice extras tossed in like a PS1-themed stand and extra side-plate if you want to add a drive. Overall, a very nice collector's item to own and use.* And to those whining and complaining about BB having no stock on November, 21, this is a LIMITED EDITION console that was put up for pre-order on September 26, and they all sold out. There were two restocks in October and early-November, but if you expect to get a limited item like this at release, good luck.

I’m so so happy I was one of few that was able to grab one of these before they sold out. It hurt a little to open the box and remove the console as it’s so rare and obviously an instant collectors item that’ll be worth so much money in the future. But it’s so beautiful and came with a randomized poster that was also so cool! I’m keeping all the packaging and box in perfect condition to reminisce in the future of how cool this anniversary edition is. If you have to chance to get one of these or the cheaper regular slim version I’d highly recommend this!

Playstation 5 is great! The 30th Anniversary console is just a regular PS5 digital edition console, but with the 30th Anniversary Limited Edition looks for nostalgic purposes. As a gamer and collector who has been gaming since before Playstation existed and has been through the entire lifecycle of Playstation, from PS to PS5, it is a memorable piece of hardware that will most likely increase in price over time. The 30th Anniversary edition console will remain sealed in my collection as it is not an item that can be purchased anymore without paying exorbitant prices.

Beautiful PS5. The reason for the 2 stars is the horrible condition the box came in. I’m not a reseller but I’m a hoarder and like to keep boxes and show off the good ones lol. I dont understand sony’s thought process on shipping these out. I managed to get 2 other ones from gamestop and they came in like they went to war with themselves in the box thay came in lol. I got those for my work buddies who were trying to get one. Also why would they use a wax paper seal?? When i first saw that it was opened I was like it was swapped out or opened already but once i saw what type of seal it was i was like oh ok. It rips so easily and considering how they packaged it any type of flex would rip it which again idc because it was coming out of the box anyway but people ... MoreBeautiful PS5. However, the disc drive hasn't been available days after the launch of the PS5 pro, which is over a month now. So, if you still use physical media, you're going to have to wait probably for a while unless you want to buy from a scalper. The other part is the housing for the usb connector that resembles the connector for the original PS1. The flaw here is that when you connect it, it covers both usb connections in front of the system. Not a big deal for me but just something to keep in mind. Overall, it's a great looking system and I hope there are restocks of these soon for others to get the chance to buy one. But unless you are a collector or someone who really enjoyed Playstation through the years, you really aren't missing out on anything. And would I recommend it? Yes, but only if you can buy it at the retail price.
For all you retro heads out there, this is the Playstation for you!! I bought a PS5 slim earlier this year (2024) but when i seen the 30th anniversary announced i knew i just HAD to get one!!! I missed the preorder window, but to my surprise Best Buy gave everyone a 2nd chance! Perfect console and perfect timing just in time for the Holidays! Merry Christmas you filthy animals!

Back to the subject on hand. This console looks incredible wow!! It blew my mind how beautiful this design of the PS1!! Even the box looks like it was planned and crafted with playstation love. The zip ties and the controller look sweeeeet! Must buy for any playstation retro fan.
Unfortunately for me, the packager who handled my item didn’t do a very good job in securing my game system. The box wS very large and the pillow packing were popped when arrived. The shipping box was very large and had signs of crushing from handling in transit. The item console box was damaged on the top corner, crushed from loosely packed in shipping box. Additionally the console’s box had tears. There were also scratching and wear from sliding around in the shipping box. I don’t plan on opening this item, it is going into my collection. I am disappointed with condition of the package.
I was super excited to be able to get one, when it arrived, the shipping box was sealed, but the actual console box was damaged and the playstation seal waz broken. No care for the customer, beat buy’s customer service said, “did you recieve it? And its not product isnt damaged, sorry”. As playststion gamer since the first console, it would of been nice go have it sealed with my orignal one. But best buy doesnt care for the customer.

Harkens back to the 1st PlayStation generation being gray. This PS5 came with everything I needed, except the disc drive which I purchased separately from Best Buy and not from scalpers.
