Play station 4 is a really great game console. I bought one for myself and my son. We play games together and he also enjoys playing them on his own. It’s really slim and doesn’t take up too much space. It came with 2 controllers and they are wireless. It comes with cords u just plug into the game console to charge the controllers. It clocks a low 60 FPS and the PS5 clocks 120 FPS + but hear me out… most BIG NAME TITLES like Call Of Duty are still available to play on the Playstation 4. The Playstation 4 Pro specifically has a “boost setting” and a “supersampling setting” which is huge because the slim and the 1st version don’t have that. The fans don’t kick on as much as the Slim version either.. but they still do kick on when you’re playing games made for new gen. So. I’m not a big gamer. I am a middleaged woman who gets bored from time to time. I got the PS4 from a friend who upgraded to another console. I love that I can purchase games through the console, and I find I’m entertained for hours. My favorite game is Hogwarts legacy, which I’ve played on and off for hours. So my review is not that of a gamer, but of someone who enjoys gaming. I have previously owned a PS2, and there are major differences. The graphics are way better and the controllers are easier to use. They vibrate in sync with the game, which is cool. The best feature is the game shop which allows you to purchase and download games directly without having to visit a store. I think this is fun, and unless you’re a gamer you would be quite satisfied with a PS4.

This is my second PlayStation and it literally will not connect to my WiFi no matter how much I trouble shoot, change my DNS settings, attempt to set it up with WPS. This console is a serious frustration and let down when it comes to just connecting to the internet. If I could go back I’d save my money. PlayStation is more and more subpar as the generations progress. Pretty unacceptable from a corporation with the resources like Sony has. Pathetic console performance overall and sub par internet capabilities. Definitely not worth $400

Took a chance to to order a refurbished PS4. I normally have had good experience with refurbed items, but not this time. Item arrived fine with everything. Cables wrapped up, console was in a packaged sleeveConsole started up, but this is when the issues started:Checked and made sure console was up to date1) Very slow when performing any actions in the menu2) Controller wired. Very laggy3) PS Store would never load after 5min of waiting4) Loaded the Playroom game and it froze for about 1-2min every 2-3 seconds. Extremely painful to endureVery sad, I have to return this. I do not recommend wasting your time on these refurbished units

I purchased a PS4 PRO console at the beginning 2019. Its one of the best consoles I have owned, but when you have a mechanical or mainboard fault the pain begins. The Blu-Ray drive failed 11/02/2022. I took the console to a local video console repairer in Brisbane after 2 weeks I found out that the PRO console of mine is unrepairable. This is due to a failure on a circuit board which is located in the Blu-Ray drive itself. The issue is you can't replace the Blue-Ray with a new one as there are also chips on the mainboard which only recognize the original Blue-Ray drive, so replacing it with a new drive won't work as the console won't detect the disks.
