These were a pair of my first winless “expensive” headphones and they worked really well and still do. I’ve upgraded to the new Sony WF now that are sound proof and a little better. But the sound quality on this version was great and still Is, the comfort was there but if they were in your ears for too long it would start to sore, but they came with different size ear pieces to fit your ear hole. Connecting was a breeze and the battery last for ever it felt like. It was a perfect travel necessity and perfect for working out to get the wires out of the way.

I've had these earbuds for about a year and they are still working perfectly. The alure for me was the EXTRA BASS and these definitely live up to my expectations. I have never had a problem with comfort with these earbuds, and with the super long lasting battery life and charging case, I can wear these for an 8 hour shift easily. The only problem I've come across is that they slip out of my ear after awhile and have even fallen out. They are sturdy, luckily but I couldn't jog in them. I think they came with different sizes of the part that goes in your ear but I probably lost them immediately, so the improper fit is likely my own doings. Either way, I love these earbuds. These Sony WFXB700 earbuds deliver a nice clear sound with very little of the Bluetooth hiss that so many other budget Bluetooth headphones have. And yes, they do have a bit of bass boost, but not enough to warrant the claim of EXTRA BASS in my opinion. I've been listening to many different genres of music, YouTube videos, and podcasts, and overall I'm happy with the sound. It is clear and there is no noticeable delay when watching videos. The bass level, though, is only a little about what I consider normal. The earbuds are controlled with little tiny buttons on bottom. It is a bit too easy to hit these buttons when putting them into your ears, which can start your music before you are ready. Also, the earbuds don't pause or stop your music automatically when they are removed from your ears. The nine hour battery life is nice, and the little case holds an additional nine hour charge, so you can charge these on the go if needed. The case is very slim and fits easily into my pocket. The package also includes a small USB cable for charging.I have a terrible time with fit for most little bean-style earbuds like these because I have very small ears. Using the smallest included ear cups, I can get these to fit snugly into my ears with a bit of twisting. However, the fit isn't good enough to, say, go jogging. My husband, who has normal-sized ears, is able to achieve a very good fit and the earbuds stay put even during vigorous activities. If you are having trouble with the fit, remember that the majority of the body goes towards the top, not the bottom like many other bean-style earbuds. These earbuds don't offer any noise cancellation. If you can get them to fit in your ears properly, they do off some noise isolation, but if you want true active noise cancellation you could opt for Sony's WF-SP800N or WF-SP700N earbuds.I'm a bit disappointed that these earbuds aren't configurable via Sony's headphone app. I have a couple of other sets that are, and I like the options that the app gives me. These earbuds just are what they are, no options or firmware updates available.

These are a great bud for bass heads and anyone who loves volume, loud volume. These are definitely one of the top, if not the top wireless earbud I've ever tried! They are pretty big, see the pics. But they deliver on sound, have a huge Bluetooth range of what is well beyond 100 feet, in my opinion and the battery lasting 9 hours is awesome.I do wish they had an Equalization app that I could tailor the sound just a little. The bass on these hit hard even at low volume levels, the mids and highs are clear, and max volume is louder than one should listen to music.Just a couple of examples of the excellent sound.Listen to "Turn Your Lights Down Low" by Bob Marley from 0:00 - 1:40, there's only goodness and wonder and peace listening to Bob Marley's voice. These buds convey his message and I feel really good listening to this song on these buds - each instrument has a place left, right, center and front and back stage. Lauryn Hill's portion is just awesome! In "Battle Without Honor Or Humanity" by HOTEI, the bass is actually restrained and the full range of these buds can be heard, along with a good sense of a huge stage. Listen to the whole song to enjoy the build up, or just try from 1:10 - 2:10 and see what I mean about each instrument occupying their own space and letting these buds shine. It's powerful. But, perhaps the real sweet spot music type for these buds is "Pursuit of Happiness" by Kid Cudi, MGMT, Ratatat and Steve Aoki. Watch the movie scene from "Project X" with this song & these buds - these buds are just a party waiting to happen and the perfect companion to that crazy party scene! These buds have support for AAC & SBC codecs. They didn't lag while watching videos on Netflix or YouTube.Unfortunately these don't work well for running in my opinion. I ran 4 miles with these buds, and every 1/4 mile or so, the buds bounced themselves out of their optimal position. Then instead of bass, you hear the speakers working without producing any bass.Get a cheap pair of buds for running and keep these Sony's for jammin!

The listened experience is great in multiple genres (House, Hip-Hop, Pop, etc.); you can adjust the equalizer through Apple Music, Spotify or through music apps found in the App/Play Store - it's 100% possible on iOS and Android phones. As for the charging the case, the earbuds sit neatly in the case and charge immediately; the rear of the case has a USB-C port which allows for faster charging; this is a huge plus. Unfortunately, the charging case feels cheap and the opening lip is somewhat fragile; the quality of the charging case is comparable to something in the earbud $50 range. Battery life has been exceptional and much better than most competitors in the same price category; in all my tests, the battery life lasted in the 8hr15min to 8hr45min range before requiring a charge using the case with a combined usage of voice calls and music.➔ The microphone quality however, is the biggest complaint I have with this product. I use the AirPods Pro as my primary in-ear headphones and the microphone quality is excellent - people hear me clearly and perfectly - when I used these Sony earbuds for 5-days straight for review purposes, I had to constantly raise my voice, repeat myself and avoid any form of background noise - just a slight wind outside would drown out the conversation.Home/Office Usage - 5/5 - No complaints, all functions work perfectlyOutdoors - 3.5/5 - Microphone issuesGym - 2/5 - Microphone issues, cardio leads to the earbuds falling out of the ears; stationary exercise is okay (machines, weights)[FINAL THOUGHTS] ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are looking for a solid pair of earbuds for the purpose of music/movies/gaming, these are an excellent choice as they shine in this department however, if you want to use these for phones calls outside/gym and do cardio, then look elsewhere.
There are a couple of things about this model of truly wireless earbuds that are heads and tails better than the older Sony ones that I've been using pretty regularly for quite a while now. One of them is the charging case, it actually charges the headphones on the go, the old one serves as a charger as well but must be plugged in. Also, this case has a USB-C charging port, finally... one step closer to being done with Micro USB cables thank you very much. Another thing is that it is super easy to actually get the earbuds into the case and charging... they practically insert themselves in this case, a magnet will pull them right in and into the correct position, you barely need to be paying attention to do it. Another thing is that it is super easy to actually get the earbuds into the case and charging... they practically insert themselves in this case, a magnet will pull them right in and into the correct position, you barely need to be paying attention to do it. Contrast to the old case where I seem to question my sanity trying to figure out how to get the things into it even after using them for about two years.I can't seem to get this model to get picked up by the Sony Headphones app, and the manual doesn't mention an app at all so I guess they dropped that which is a shame because you lose the ability to easily apply firmware updates, do some quick EQ changes and even get the headphones nice and tied into things like Google Assistant. Other than that pairing the headphones to my phone was easy as usual. They report battery level to Android just fine, etc. These earbuds are rather bulky, there is no way around it. Even though they look like they're going to be uncomfortable or even not stay in your ears, they're actually quite comfortable and really haven't budged since I put them in. I do find they look a little funny when wearing them as they "stick out" just a bit, but they really don't stand out that much that I find it unacceptable.Sound quality is generally good, but not awesome. Overall I find a lot of music has a slightly muddied tone to it compared to my best wireless headphones. That said, the bass is very strong with these headphones and in a way that doesn't distort with the tracks I've listened to even with the volume cranked up to max. And volume wise, these do get more than loud enough, louder than I'd ever care to listen to for any extended period of time. If your musical tastes lean towards bass heavy stuff, I think you'll be more than satisfied with what you get out of these headphones at least relative to other earbud type wireless headphones. So while they're not perfect - mainly being that they are rather feature sparse particularly for Sony who usually gives you more bells and whistles than you ever care to have, and I don't think they'll satisfy those of you with "Golden Ears" - I think they're solid performers that get a lot of the basics right for the money.
Very nice sounding and clean bass, definitely recommend if you're looking for wireless buds with extra bass. It lives up to its name "extra bass" and can get very loud at max volume. Can function with one earbud in while the other earbud is charging in the case (left earbud only however, which is unfortunate). Comes with 4 different sized tips for all ear shapes, which is a bonus, and takes Type-C wire charging. Doesn't come with NFC charging or an ability to locate buds if they go missing. Should have these features due to the price point, but I digress. It's a great pair of buds, definitely recommend to anyone who's looking for a neat pair of buds that deliver more bass than the average earbuds. Sony didn't disappoint with this one.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sony kindly asked me to test these, I am pleased they did - they are great! Music is important to me. I tend to listen to CDs or Hi Fi or Master Quality streaming and worry about getting good sound quality in the mid-range of earphones. Compared to my regular bluetooth ones which are a 'sports version' the sound is more detailed, more natural and fuller overall. I tried Vaughan Williams, New Order, Voces8, Daft Punk and John Rutter - Sony got more detail and more naturalism every time. The bass they promote builds as the volume goes up. These earphones are not too quiet, not quieter than any others I have.Top tip - if the sound is good but not everything you hoped for out-of-the-box, go up a size in the range of ... These earphones are not too quiet, not quieter than any others I have.Top tip - if the sound is good but not everything you hoped for out-of-the-box, go up a size in the range of in-ear gummies Sony provide. The carry case is good, in a textured hard plastic and smaller than pocket-sized. I love the fact tat the cover is translucent so you can see that the earbuds are charging or fully charged. The cable is a speed charger - interoperable with my android, so only one cable needed for both. The earbuds themselves appear very durable, with controls for volume and stop, skip, play on either earpiece - naturally these are rather fiddly as everything is quite small. I think most likely you will have your phone with you when using these, so use the phone to control the music. I wouldn't recommend these for kinetic activities such as running or cycling - it is not so much that they will fall out (they won't any more than any other grippy earphone in my view) but the controls are too fiddly to be used during a sporting activity.I love the way the earbuds snap into their box with a magnetic lock - and that they connect to my android right away without having to do anything with them or the phone. These earphones I think must be right up there with the best you can buy at their price point.
Sony has always made good quality products so it was no surprise that their WF-XB700 Extra Bass True Wireless Earbuds are GREAT! These earbuds are also water resistant so sweat won’t stop them which makes them great for my workouts I love that I can just put in my earbuds turn up the volume and not be able to hear the noises in the background the extra bass is definitely there and it packs a punch. One downside about these earbuds is that they are not ideal for jogging/running because they will not stay in place. I jog 3 to 4 miles and through out that I have to readjust them 2 to 3 times which isn’t a big deal to me but it might be for some. Another thing I love about these earbuds is the hands free calling. I prefer to use them when making phone calls there’s no static or loss of connectivity I can hear whoever I’m talking to clearly and vice versa. Some other small downsides about these buds are that they are bigger than most earbuds out there and they stick out a bit from my ears they are surprisingly comfortable though but if you have small ears that might not be the case for you. Their look is very simple and not very eye catching but there performance makes up for that when it comes to my earbuds I prefer function over fashion. Overall I would definitely recommend Sony’s WF-BX700 the battery life is amazing I use them almost everyday for 2 to 3 hours a day and only charge the case about twice a week. For those who are looking to purchase good quality wireless earbuds you should give any of Sony’s earbuds a try, they are affordable and worth the price.

For more than 20 years and for a variety of reasons I have used headphones to listen to both music and speech, initially over-ear and wired, then wired buds and finally a Sony Wireless over-ear set three years ago.The latter was a major step forward but naturally over-ear headphones tend to make the ears uncomfortably warm after a long period and slip forward when one bends down whilst working. The first thing that impressed me when the WF-XB700's arrived was the quality and design of the packaging which indicated to me the usual Sony quality of the enclosed product (over many years I have owned and enjoyed many Sony products.) This took the form of translucent very tactile pod c. 8x4.5 cm. with a flat base that fitted neatly into the palm of the hand with a reassuring weight, and which opened and closed easily with a firm positive action. Inside were two neat headphones clearly marked with colour coded L and R. To remove them one inserts a finger in a notch at the side and lifts them against the pull of a magnet twisting the left one anti-clockwise and the right one clockwise. Whilst in the pod they have a small rectangular red light which turns to flashing blue once they are removed as they seek a bluetooth connection. Returning them is simple as, once located above their slots, they snap firmly into place.Making a bluetooth pairing to my phone was effected effortlessly and subsequent connections were immediate when the headphones were placed near to the phone. They felt really comfortable when first placed in the ear without need to change the "buds" (there were 3 more of varying sizes provided in the pack.) Within minutes I was forgetting that I was wearing them. They stay firmly in place no matter how one moves around without any discomfort allowing one to work and enjoy music etc. So far I have listened to podcast episodes for more than two hours at a stretch without fatigue or discomfort.Listening to music was a revelation and the performance of the headphones was truly astonishing and far exceeded my exceptions. I have wide tastes in music from Electronic (Tangerine Dream etc whom I have listened to from the 70's, initially on vinyl ) to Classic and Opera and most things in-between. The high notes are crisp, clear and well defined - piano music a delight - the bass notes astounding with their resonance and depth but still clearly defined and not in the least muddy. The real revelation for me was listening to a series of podcasts where the speech was accompanied by background music. I have reached the point in life where I have some hearing loss; the headphones have helped in the past but anyone who has got some hearing loss will know the frustration of watching a film only to lose some of the dialogue when the backing music strikes up. With the WF-XB700's it was like a return to old days where it was perfectly possible to hear all the dialogue and the background music at the same time. Magic and totally unexpected. Accordingly, whilst I would recommend these headphones to anyone I would particularly recommend them to anyone like myself who has hearing loss.So far I have only managed to pair them to my phone but as the modern "Smart Phones" allow access to most media this is not a problem for me. However, when I have had them for a little longer I will look into pairing them with something else. I have read criticism that they don't have noise cancelling. This is not something that I would require (I have it on my Sony over-ear headphones but only use it rarely) as I don't want or feel the need to be totally detached from - necessary - external stimuli. That said, normal domestic sounds to not in anyway intrude, in fact, if my wife wishes to speak to me from another room she rings me. Accepting phone calls is achieved by pressing a small button on the headphone and this works well, making a clear connection immediately. I can confirm Sony's claim to their moisture resistance as I dropped one in the dog's water bowl. Once removed and wiped over it performed as before. The main battery in the "pod" is charged by a (supplied) short USB cable connected to a computer or USB socket and the headphones take charge from the main battery once seated in the "pod", charging indicated by a red light on each one. Charging time is swift and listening time, for me, exceeds the nine hours claimed by Sony.In summation these are a truly remarkable product providing outstanding music and speech reproduction with the true portability, comfort and safety required to allow one to listen for long periods and carry on with almost any task at the same time, all for a most modest price.
