Sony WH-1000XM4 Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones Midnight Blue
The WH-1000XM4 headphones produce advanced noise canceling performance, managing to keep out even more high and mid-frequency sounds. The WH-1000XM4 headphones employ a variety of smart technologies to provide a hands-free listening experience. For example, in Speak-to-Chat, simply begin speaking to automatically pause your music, or enjoy adaptive playback thanks to a proximity sensor and two acceleration sensors that sense whether your headphones are worn. Over time, Adaptive Sound Control begins to identify locations you visit regularly, such as your workplace, the gym, or a favorite café, and customizes sound to the situation. The WH-1000XM4 headphones combine sophisticated styling with exceptional comfort. Super-soft, pressure-relieving urethane earpads evenly distribute pressure while also increasing earpad contact for a secure fit. With a lightweight design, you'll barely feel you're wearing them. With an impressive 30 hours of battery life, you'll have enough power for even the longest of journeys.

If you love music and prefer the highest quality sound possible, then the XM4 is the best set of headphones hands-down! The clarity of the bass, mids, and highs makes these the top performing headphones all-around. The XM4s sound great out of the box, and you further enhance your experience with custom EQ. The bass is very punchy for basshead lovers, or if you're like me, you can turn up your mids and highs and hear all the instruments that usually get faded and lost. I have my EQ settings pretty balanced, where my lows and bass sit around a 4, while my mids and highs sit at 8 (10 being the max). These are by far the best sounding headphones I’ve ever heard, and I’ve tried a lot. None of the previous ones can even compare. The companion app comes with a bunch of ... It also provides features such as fit testing for 360 reality audio and ANC/ ambient sound control. One of my favorite features is the Adaptive Sound Control. It’s able to detect where you are, and depending on how you have your settings, it will auto-enable ANC or ambient sound. For example, if I’m at work, the headphones will automatically enable ambient sound so i can still listen to my music while also being aware of the chatter of my coworkers around me. If I’m at home, i can fully immerse myself in my music thanks to my headphones auto-enabling active noise cancelling. Another neat feature i love is the headphones can detect if your’e speaking, and will automatically pause your music and go into ambient sound mode to allow you to converse. Then after you've stopped speaking, it will resume your music in whatever previous mode you had it set to. And of course you can always turn all these features off if you wont be utilizing them.Overall, I’m really impressed with these headphones. I’m upset i didn't try them out sooner. It’s definitely worth the price. It looks good, travels well, has a ton of features, and most importantly, sounds great!10/10 for me.

BUTTONS PEOPLE. For the love of God, why is normal basic human functionality such an unreasonable request? There I was, just washing some dishes wearing headphones while on an important call, and somebody needed to get my attention and talk to me for a minute. Naturally, I go to just simply move one earpiece off of my ear to easily listen to what they needed to say real quick. No need to touch any controls at all, right? Not with wet fingers. Now the call I was on needs to hang up immediately and without warning because that's how touch screens work. I shudder to think how these headphones will suffer in slight damp rain!I usually buy the Bose Quiet Comforts, but I had to return the pair I JUST bought because of a million and a half issues, but Lord Almighty I ... I shudder to think how these headphones will suffer in slight damp rain!I usually buy the Bose Quiet Comforts, but I had to return the pair I JUST bought because of a million and a half issues, but Lord Almighty I miss those buttons. Buttons never push themselves. Just TRY to rapidly lower or raise the volume while listening to music on these Sony's. It skipped like three songs in a row just trying to do what the Bose would do SO EASILY.Honestly, like leave the touch screen for all the people who just die over every ridiculous and unnecessary innovation. Fine, but give me some dang buttons that I could use instead! Like, it's already got two buttons, an On and Off button, why not a VERY simple volume button? Better yet, why not let me turn off the idiotic touch screen on the app and just use my buttons? I will suffer through reduced capabilities with a smile on my face knowing that BASIC functions will work without worry. They are comfortable and provide good isolation, and unlike the Bose pair the microphone actually works. Time will tell how they hold up, but I fear the rain, and I fear touching the controls AT ALL knowing that it might interpret my touch as literally anything if I don't do it exactly perfectly precisely right.I did a ton of research and it seems that all the decent headphones today that have the features I need (Excellent isolation as I work with loud, rumbling equipment all day, Bluetooth, battery life, water resistance for rainy weather (yeah right, I know), and a microphone that, you know, works) all have those stupid touch screens. The exception being the Bose QC45's, but I tried em and they had so many connectivity issues, garbage mic issues, and couldn't handle the noise from a window being rolled down in a car without painful bursts of sound in my ear, so I guess I'm stuck with this crap. If there was literally ANYTHING else I would buy it.

Sony's industry-leading noise-canceling technology uses dual microphones to analyze and adjust ambient sound, creating an immersive listening experience. Whether you're in a noisy office, commuting, or simply seeking some tranquility, the XM4 does an excellent job of blocking out external distractions.Sound quality is another area where the XM4 excels. With powerful and dynamic audio performance, these headphones deliver a rich and detailed sound signature. The bass is deep and punchy, while the mids and highs are well-balanced, providing a satisfying listening experience across various music genres.Comfort is a crucial factor for headphones, especially during extended use, and the XM4 doesn't disappoint. The soft cushioning on the earcups and headband ensures a comfortable fit, allowing you to wear them for hours without discomfort. Additionally, the XM4 is lightweight, making it suitable for travel or long listening sessions. The battery life of the XM4 is impressive, offering up to 30 hours of playtime on a single charge with noise canceling enabled. This extended battery life ensures that the headphones can last through long journeys or workdays without the need for frequent recharging.Another notable feature of the XM4 is its intuitive touch controls. With a few simple taps and swipes on the earcup, you can adjust the volume, change tracks, or answer phone calls without reaching for your device. This convenience adds to the overall user experience and makes on-the-go control a breeze. One minor drawback that some users have mentioned is the lack of water or sweat resistance. While the XM4 is not designed specifically for sports or rigorous outdoor activities, it's worth noting that it's best suited for indoor and casual use.In summary, the Sony XM4 wireless noise-canceling headphones offer an exceptional audio experience, powerful noise cancellation, and a comfortable fit. With its impressive battery life and convenient touch controls, it's a top choice for music enthusiasts, frequent travelers, and anyone seeking an immersive and enjoyable listening experience.
For a summary up front, these are a good product at a premium price point. There are some things I really like about these, but there are a few issues I have with them as well.Sound Quality: Very good. I'm not an audiophile so won't try and assess this in detail, but they sound great to my ears.Comfort and Fit: They fit me well, and are comfortable for extended periods, they do tend to get a but stuffy and sweaty after a while, but I think that is going to be true for any closed back headphones.Noice Cancelling: These are a huge upgrade over my last set of headphones. While they do not cancel out all noise they reduce a busy city or office to a background murmur or tune a noisy computer fan out entirely.Transparency Mode: Maybe this is a me thing, but I ... While they do not cancel out all noise they reduce a busy city or office to a background murmur or tune a noisy computer fan out entirely.Transparency Mode: Maybe this is a me thing, but I struggle to follow a conversation in transparency mode, and the speak to enable it is more of a nuisance than a help. All of this means that I basically never use the feature. Unless you know that you like the XM4's implementation of this feature, don't treat it as a selling point. Now for the couple of points that bug me a little about them.Buttons/Touch controls. The buttons they have work great, and it makes me wish that it had buttons instead of the touch pad. I still often accidentally trigger the wrong function when using them (i.e. accidentally skipping when intending to change volume). It also often gets triggered inadvertently a lot whenever I am reaching up to access a top shelf, or hang out laundry. All this makes me wish for the simpler days of just having buttons.Connectivity: This is the other part of the product that I find lacking. I came to this from a aggressively mid-range set of BT headphones, which had better range and connection quality than these - even when they are set to prioritize connection strength over audio quality. In the city I get frequent stuttering and cutouts when in certain areas that clearly have high wireless traffic. Around the house I sometimes get cut outs where the audio will completely stop working for a minute if I walk a little bit too far away, even when the source device still thinks it is connected.Wired option: they have a wired option, which I consider bare minimum, but I wish the wired option also allowed you to use the media controls and microphone (many cheap sets of wired earbuds provide this level of functionality so was very surprised that these didn't). With how poor the connection can be I often revert to this mode and wish it was as functional as the wireless mode.On the whole, I am a little disappointed by the connection issues and the lack of features when using them wired, but otherwise very happy with them.

I’ve been on the hunt for the best work out headphones and when I tell you I’ve been running back and forth to Best Buy three times in the past two weeks. These are the best ones to purchase because of the research I did for the best recommended ones in the market after my last two attempts at finding “the one” mind you, I’m not an electronics person but I was looking to become physically healthy again and needed to find the right tools that will help me make it fun.I first purchased the Beats by Dre fit pro - I brought them to the gym and everything was fine at first but I noticed they hurt my ears because the buds that pop in are so thick and it always felt like it would fall out of my ears. MoreI’ve been on the hunt for the best work out headphones and when I tell you I’ve been running back and forth to Best Buy three times in the past two weeks. After the second time in the gym, the right side completely stopped working and I had to return them. However, I did really like the noise cancelling feature and base in them. They weren’t waterproof as I had thought or they may have been defective.Fortunately I returned them and purchased the AirPod pros 3rd generation. I thought they would be better because I have an iPhone and the sound was great once you customize it but it would literally NOT fit in my ear/it kept popping out and I know I could’ve ordered these silicone tips to make them fit but it’s so inconvenient to have to carry two separate cases and pop the silicone on and off every time I use them. Plus, someone else said even with them on they still wouldn’t stay put.At my wits end, I looked on TikTok what everyone recommended and compared - I somehow landed on reviews for these Sony headphones and I’m glad I took a chance. I also recommend you look at the videos to get a more detailed review on them. I took them to the gym and they stayed put! Yes I also sweat on them because I was running and walking on the treadmill for 60 minutes straight and they are still working. They are easy to clean because the padding is a harder leather like material and they are soo soft! It’s like a cloud over my ears. I love that it also folds together, and is adjustable - it hugs your head nice and snug without giving you a headache. The noise cancellation on them is impeccable! I can barely hear anything else outside of them when I turn them on and I find the “touchscreen-like” controls on the side useful instead of having to tap a button and being unsure if they were pushed hard enough. It makes running on the treadmill so much easier as well as keeping them clean when my hands are sweaty. I love how I can swipe in different ways to move the controls (Up=louder/Down=lower volume/double tap=pause/swipe right&left two times skips songs or goes forward) and the most useful control is covering your ear over the headphone and it will disable the noise cancellation if someone/something needs your immediate attention. The battery life lasts so long. I was using them for an hour and they are still at full battery. It doesn’t take long to charge them either! I love that these headphones look aesthetically pleasing it comes in black and grey (I bought the grey because they also look beige/nude/neutral colored to me) it’s the right balance between not too skinny & not too bulky. They come with their own protective case and a bunch of extra things like a plug for an airplane, a wire if you want to connect it to your phone I think, and it’s charging cable.I recommend these headphones completely as I have also found out my supervisor has the same ones but in the color black which is awesome and makes me feel like I made the right choice. I definitely won’t be going back to Best Buy for a return on these. I recommend you always purchase the coverage on any headphones you buy so that you’re covered if you buy any that just don’t work for you.TLDR:-I’ve been back & forth trying to find the best headphones-Noise cancelling & touch screen like controls-Perfect for the gym especially on the treadmill-Cloud like cushion/Easy to clean/No headache-Long battery life/Short charge time-Great base and music-Comes with protective case and wires-Sleek & aesthetically pleasing neutral colors-Sweat proof-Always buy the care coverage so you can return them if it doesn’t work for youYes they are a bit pricy but it is worth every penny. Some prefer this over the AirPod Max because of the case, quality, and it looks better overall. Mind you the AirPod Max is $400+
