Of course, it is wonderful not having a physical connection with a phone, since there is no wire to get in the way of movement.I had no trouble at all getting the earphones connected to my Pixel 2. The Bluetooth connection can even be made with NFC, which is quick and easy. The battery life is advertised at 8 hours of playback, and I have gotten at least that. Fitting the micro USB charging wire into the little trap door on the end of the right unit is a little tricky at first but becomes second nature.Sending and receiving phone calls is straightforward as well. I bought these to replace a very inexpensive unbranded pair that I lost. Im less happy with these. My #1 priority, which I was hoping these would be better at but arent really, is that they fit my very small head. I swapped the smallest silicon earbuds out for another pair that were slightly smaller on yet another unbranded pair of old headphones Ive got. Theyre still a little too big and dont fit that well. Additionally, theyre kinda just bulky with the cable. I want lightweight (my unbranded ones were better). The middle section of cable is heavy. Why are there two big chunks rather than just one? Although they are connected wirelessly, they are not truly wireless, as there is a small wire that connects the two earpieces around the back of your neck.Storage is achieved by a little rubber band looking thing that you place the headphones in and then wrap the cord around it. Not crazy about that design, it works, but I think it could be detrimental to the headphones over time as a storage solution, putting undue stress on that neck cord.Overall the sounds is really good, especially at the price point, I just had an issue with them staying in my ears. I would ultimately have to force them in my ear, introducing a pain to my ear canal.

While truly wireless earbuds may tout their wire-free design, having a wire behind your neck during exercise is convenient way of making sure if a bud falls out, you donât immediately lose it.I didnât get a chance to test the NFC. Unfortunately this feature is pretty exclusive to the android world, while iOS keeps itâs NFC unavailable for pairing. Battery life is pretty good too. The rated 8 hours may not be seen if youâre pushing the volume high, but I definitely get several workouts from them at my moderate volume setting.Overall I highly recommend these headphones, especially if you snag them on sale. They are a great set of Bluetooth workout headphones.

I still need to track effectively how long they last.After wearing them for a while and getting over the painful initial insert-device-in-your-ears process, I can last several hours wearing them. When comparing to my wireless Plantronics Headphone with Active Noise Cancellation, which was deemed to be really comfortable to wear as its price tag suggested, I could only last a couple of hours with the Plantronics Headset, with this one several hours now. Price-wise, it makes sense to move to this Sony SP500 from other more expensive wireless devices. Noise cancellation may be a little issue, but it is something I could live (just play the music louder).Neutral:Perhaps even a negative, but I am not sure about how long it takes to charge it to full, there is no clear indication. I plugged it in and the red light was on until an hour or so later it went off, I assumed it was fully charged. Upon trying to recharge it again, the red light came in again until several minutes later. I wished that there was a voice message that said fully-charged/battery-high/battery-low etc., similar to my more expensive Plantronics wireless over the ear headphones. Only two messages so far are for when it gets connected and when it is about to have no battery left.I am not sure about the price, Iâd figure if theyâd go for $60 then these would be the greatest earphones ever. Price doesnât seem too unreasonable, but with a few things added, such as battery indication, itâd make it worth every penny.Negative:Somehow hard to get used to, the buds feel big and hurt your ears. Of course, they can be worn without introducing them too much into your ears, but then more outside noise that gets in (did that initially). To be fair, the more I wear them the more I am getting used to them, I just wished the process to be smoother. Softer and perhaps higher quality materials would be great to have.A minor nuisance I had one time was with the wire connecting the pair of earphones getting trapped in my clothes around my neck, when wearing multiple layers of clothes. So I guess the recommendation would be to use it with light clothes?

With one tap of the NFC logo on the headphones my Pixel phone connects without any issues, another tap quickly disconnects the headphones. Itâs really nice being able to take a call without having to touch your phone, knowing that the caller can hear you as clearly as you can hear them.Iâve been using these for a few days now, a couple hours each day, and have not had to charge them yet, the battery life seems to live up to itâs advertised eight hours of on time and two hundred hours in standby mode, which is really great!The sound quality of these headphones is really good with adequate bass and nice clarity, they are perfect for my workout. At this price point I would say the sound quality alone makes these well worth the buy. Add in the smart design and thoughtful button placement, the durable build, and the quick connectivity and these headphones might be the best buy on the market right now at this price point. I highly recommend these to anyone who is looking for a new pair of gym headphones as they have quickly become my favorite headphones for working out.

Some people might find them somewhat âclumsyâ to wear draped about the neck that way, as they flop around a bit because of their shape and weight. While not a deal breaker, it may be a downside for some.The main feature I found lacking (unless I missed something mentioned in the instruction booklet) was a pause feature. There didnât seem to be one. This is a feature I make quite a bit of use of while working out, doing housework, etc. One of the perks to headsets like this in being wireless, is not having to keep accessing your phone, but instead, to have the controls be on the headset itself.Bottom line: the SONY Wireless Stereo Headset WI-SP500 is a good headset, and definitely a nice addition to SONYâs line of personal electronic products.

It doesnât happen when already on my arm and it goes away when I relocated my phone from my pocket to my arm. It may have been some other interference but I have not otherwise had the opportunity to test it in a new location.
