Wish there’s way to turn TV off when playing CD, need to find a blu ray of different zone but all things considered it’s a good buy. Thanks Bombay.

The Sony UBP-X700 does exactly what I need. I’m in the US and enjoy films from all over the world, particularly the UK. This replaced an aging Yamaha player whose image quality deteriorated badly. Among other things, all shadows were pitch black and devoid of detail.

It runs perfectly; sharp image, soft running, be able to read any format of DVD, free zone, easy to use remote control, running in synchronization with my other Sony components, receiver and television. I must tell you that: it is a fine product; you will not do a mistake in buying one like this one.
The Sony UBP-X700 is an outstanding player. The picture is as good as you’re going to find. It was easy to set up and a breeze to operate. It even has the most popular streaming apps installed and they work great. It even has Dolby Vision. You can’t go wrong with this player.
The unit came promptly and successfully played our DVDs and BluRays from Europe and North America as promised. Instructions were included in the package. The unit works great out of the box. Will explore some of the many options later.
These difficulties so far:a)packing slip says 'open box' - the Best Buy web description does specify open boxb) the package did not contain an HDMI cablec) the product is advertised as 'Newest Model 2018 Sony X700 4K UHD - HDR - SACD - Wi-Fi - All Region Free DVD and Zone ABC Blu Ray Player 100-240V Auto" but the item is clearly marked Region '1'd) the Wi-Fi connection process does not workIf Best Buy can get the seller to fix the problems immediately, it will improve my opinion of the store.
DVD players used to remember where you stopped viewing a disc. I had one which would remember the stopping place in up to three different discs. Now, they don't. The Sony UBP-X700 says in its documentation that it will lose its stopping place when you shut off the player, or even open the disc tray. Does anyone else feel frustrated by having to hunt through a 2-hour movie to find where you stopped viewing? Why are the manufacturers omitting this essential feature? That aside, it's a decent player.
Have no 3D TV to test SONY PLAYER, since iqh3d TV PRICE WENT UP ON BLACK FRIDAY!Works as advertised, but hate power off select region turn on to watch= inconvenient. Why not automatic disck detection?
I was worried about the 3D function till I received the player because my Projector will play only HSBS or top and bottom. My earlier Sony player which I purchased from UK will not play 3D Blu-ray cd.There is no such issues. Works multi region Blu-ray cd including 3D and ofcourse 4K disc. I'm fully satisfied
