A recent purchase and self installed with aerpro aftermarket wiring looms. Picture is good, CarPlay works well wirelessly. Radio is clear as are voices through music player. Downside is has changed how the bass sounds through factory speakers. Equaliser modification has helped a bit yet still not as much punch as the factory unit. I suggest include a subwoofer in your install.
This headunit is easy to install and operates great for the price being the entry level Sony unit for wireless Carplay I was surprised at how well it works.

A all round great head unit biggest selling point for myself was the wireless CarPlay which works great and Is actually almost instant connection upon turning the ignition. I’d buy again as I wasn’t disappointed
Great head set. Bluetooth Apple CarPlay is the way to go. Make sure you get all the right harness cables.
I bought this last year and it's been so convenient to use. I upgraded from the $400 Sony XAV-AX5000 because although it did support CarPlay and Android Auto, I still had to use a cable to connect it. I have no issues with this head unit and it was expensive but worth it. It's responsive, no software issues and the settings are simple to navigate around. Once you go wireless, you'll never go back.
