My Tundra came with a 6.8" Kenwood unit and it just did not look right being so small. This was a super easy install and this was my first time ever doing a head unit. This kit really is plug and play and was a pretty quick install. Most time was spend running the microphone to the original location (highly preferred over the a pillar etc) and the hdmi cord to the glove box. Mike was extremely helpful when I called in with questions prior to purchasing. Highly recommend this unit and Trail Grid Pro!

This kit really is plug and play and was a pretty quick install. I installed the 8500 and couldn't be happier. I wasn't a fan of how Metra makes the double DIN receivers sit recessed in the aftermarket dash kit. I'm also not a super fan of the floating head unit in aftermarket setups. I was able to seat this headunit flush with the dash after a little tweaking. I'll add photos If I can figure out how, I'm only seeing the option to add test in this review.
First I could start with the things that I like about this unit . I bought it because of the single DIN, and the 5 volt pre-outs . I knew I wanted a floating style head unit and this one in my opinion looked really nice . It seemed to have every option that I wanted, Android auto Wireless, HDMI input, and it also has the options for three camera inputs all that have their own trigger wire .My first issue started with installing the head unit . My vehicle does not allow for ISO mounting whatsoever . My vehicle requires a cage Style dash kit in order to work . This head unit does not come with any cage, I had to scour the internet and all the forms trying to figure out if a cage is even possible to find for this . When using Android auto wirelessly about 50% of the time the audio skips like I'm listening to an old school CD . It's horrible . I tried plugging my phone into the USB and that works flawlessly with no lag at all . I did not buy this unit to have my phone plugged in, the main reason was the wireless Android auto but it seems like I can't use it because it cuts out so badly . Hopefully Sony can fix this problem with the update . I only hope that it comes soon . I have a fire stick hooked up to my HDMI input and that works really well . The screen is pretty nice and I like the minimalistic menus . It's very easy to navigate, it could use some customization options but it's fine for what I need it for .
Had this installed a week ago today & as I’ve had a cold haven’t used it much. However, love it & amazed when asked Siri to call friend as had missed call with phone in bag on back seat & it did & spoke to friend hands free! Heaps of music and it’s magic.

Purchased this a few days ago at Best Buy in Olympia, Wa. It wasnt even jlon fisplay yet, but seen it online and went down and pulled the trigger. Couldnt be happier. The interface owth the wrangler is amazing. Eeplaced an Alpine ilx-w650 and its leaps and bounds better!
Since I've had their kit for 2 months now I can say I love it, easy to install on my own, with good cable management. I did have an issue with the screen not turning on. Sony was no help at all because I wasn't a licensed installer, I called TGP and they swapped it out with ZERO hassle, good CS makes this even better of a buy.
