After having my 1st gen Apple AirPod Pros for 13 months, both the case and each ear bud completely died and I was in need of a replacement that can do it all (for workouts, work calls, listening to audio and music with noise cancellation, transparency mode, snd something comfortable to wear). Thereâs a lot to love about these and I read all of the rave reviews, so I figured while these were on sale, I would try them out with my iPhone 14 Pro and M1 Pro MBP as well as my iPad Pro to see how they work for a full days use. Things were going great the first day and everything connected seamlessly and loved all of the features. I even tried these headphones on a run and a long bike ride and they did wonderful! On the 2nd day is where it went downhill. The right ear piece stopped connecting to my Mac but would connect to my iPhone but produced a ton of static sounds. I reset the connectivity and setup again but had the same issue. Day 3 I went to charge the device itself with the supplied cable and it stopped charging at the 2/3 charging status icon. Now onto Day 4 and only the left earbud works but connects very slowly to Bluetooth on any of my devices. Luckily I bought the extended warranty just in case but extremely disappointed they stopped functioning as I really loved the way these sounded on Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music. I will be returning these and purchasing something else since the product didnt make it long enough to meet my daily needs for a wireless earbud device. Pros: sound quality (amazing range of EQâs and adjustablility), long listening run time, adjustable ear pieces, a nice sliding wireless charging case, transparency mode, HearID mode, mobile app, microphone crispness during calls, and price point for features. Cons: connectivity is terrible between devices as it looses its connection consistently, right ear bud lost connection/connectivity completely after 4 days of use, sound is not great for phone calls (very static sounding for the person talking),

But there are often issue with getting the buds to charge in the case. My experience has been that the right one takes about 20 seconds of fiddling before it actually makes contact to charge. I think I know why which I will cover in the comfort/fit section but has to do with the ear wings. I did have connectivity issues when I first got them but seems that the software updates have fixed them. Much more stable now.Comfort/fit: When the tips/earwings are brand new, the fit itâs almost perfect. But after a week, then just loosen up and slide around way too much. The little notch that is supposed to keep the ear wing in place is not enough and causes the silicon to spin off center. Itâs sooo annoying. Makes the fit horrible and when placing them in the case it wonât fit or charge until you put them back on the notch. You have to reposition the silicone wing every time you put them in and even when you put them in, it immediately slips. Why? Because to secure the earbuds you have to rotate them to secure the fit. But this step is basically ruined by the poor notch design. When you rotate it, the wing slips off the notch and there goes the fit. The single most annoying thing about the headphones. Honestly, if this design was better I think they may almost be perfect because it would like help the noise cancellation and transparency mode a bit. Those arenât perfect either but are more than enough for the price of the buds. To be clear, I did receive a new set of tips and wings free from soundcore but again, they were great at first but eventually failed.ANC/transparency: like most sayâŠ. Itâs fine. Not great, not terrible. Good? Maybe.. idk. The difference between Normal and ANC is barely noticeable even after multiple tests to optimize it. Transparency is decent. Can sometimes feel plugged or submerge but updates have improved it slightly. Still just feels a bit off. Again, not bad by any means. I use it all the time at work and itâs an important feature but now I tend to just take them out more often.Overall, they are excellent value buds with amazing sound quality but just growing apart from them due to the little annoyances that are adding up. Probably going to try out the new AirPod Pro 2s when they come out. If those match the L3P audio, I think that will be the winner for most consumer buds and for non-audiophiles. Until the fit improves on the liberty pros (didnât like the L2Ps fit either) I just donât think I can get on board. I have confidence Soundcore will get there though. Just continue to listen to customers and improve from there. You have the sound quality figured out which is obviously the HUGE part but other improvements will go a longgggg way.

After that it informs you to update firmware. (Firmware will not update if battery life is under 20%) I wanted to try out the much-hyped HearID feature which I was skeptical about. HearID Sound analyzes the way in which you hear music in order to create a personalized sound profile thatâs tailored precisely to your ears. It can also be applied to all your favorite EQ settings for more customization. Also, HearID settings can be used to optimized Active Noise Cancellation, what it does is perform a hearing test on each ear with tones. Then I selected LDAC codecs for the best Bluetooth quality Note: choosing this option will shorten your battery life.Sound quality on Amazon Music Unlimited is excellent with the HearID settings (this feature seems to work well) and I was quite impressed with the tracks that played in HD, Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos. Sound was crisp with dynamite range and good bass response but not distorted. I did try all the other sound options: EQ setting (presets and manual) and 3D Surround option (seems more like a gimmick to me as this mode did not impress) with HearID settings being the best out of the two. Since I wanted to compare regular standard audio against HD, I played Bob Marleyâs âIs This Loveâ on Amazon in Dolby Atmos compare with a standard version of the same song on Pandora (to give better context here Pandora streams music in 192kbps AAC VS Amazonâs 24bit / 192kHz FLAC) with the Doby version being noticeably better. While playing the same song in standard version when comparing the Soundcore against an affordable competitor on both earbuds, the Soundcore was only a little bit better. The Liberty 3 Pros have hi-res wireless certification, thanks to support for the LDAC codec. My Google Pixel 6 supports LDAC and many other Android phones, but Apple does not. When you donât use the LDAC option and select the normal the AAC codecs with HD, Ultra HD, Dolby Atmos music and then compare Liberty 3 Pro with other Non-Hi-Res lower priced earbuds from Sony and Google. The Liberty 3 Proâs do sound better but not by much just not a dramatic difference, and I tried multiple songs from various music gernes from Tyler the Creator to Radiohead. These earbuds felt a little awkward in my ears when it comes to fit at first and are less comfortable and heavier than others Iâm used to, but after a couple of days I did get use to them. Touch controls, ANC & Muti-Mode Transparency features seem to work well. Call quality is good with unit having Multipoint Connectivity that can simultaneously pair 2 devices and store up to 7 devices within the Soundcore app to change between multiple audio sources. IPX4 rating certifies protection from exposure to sweat & water. Battery life is 8 hours from the earbuds. (32 hours total with case) with 15 minutes quick charge that gives 3 hours of play time.If you listen to Hi-Res stuff and want the best audio quality in this price range then this is a good choice especially since other Hi-Res compatible earbuds are priced much higher, but Spotify users donât have HD options yet and standard music does not really blow me away on these earbuds with if not sounding much better than current mid-range earbuds, although Spotify HiFi with HD music is coming out this year so Spotify users who want good HD quality sounding earbuds in the future is where the Liberty 3 Pro excel at.

You find a quiet room and the Soundcore earbuds app can take you through a hearing test procedure to fine tune the units to your ear. They sound fantastic and the Active Noise Cancelling does an excellent job; although, I have had to do a long touch on one of the earbuds so that it goes into a function of allowing some sound like voices to come through when someone is talking to you. You may also take the left earbud out and whatever you are listening to will pause. You need to keep in mind that as soon as you slide open the case they pair to the phone and you will not hear anything from you phone unless you have one of the earbuds in your ear; no big deal but keep that in mind in case you don't put the earbuds in right away. With the right ear tips matched with the right ear wings, these earbuds stay right in your ear with comfort and movement like running or turning. I highly recommend these earbuds.
After purchasing the Sony WF-1000XM4's, I was worried after one of the foam ear tips disconnected and stayed in my ear. I returned it immediately and swore off ear buds for some time. I returned to them after seeing the battery life potential, ANC options, and amount of included tips and wings that come with the Liberty 3 Pro's. The sound is fantastic, helped by the Soundcore app which helps you get the perfect EQ preset for the media you're streaming. The fit test ensures you have the correct ear tip and wing attached for a secure fit and perfect sound quality for the noise cancellation to do its job. I may have to experiment with the ANC controls in the app.
The Liberty 3 Pro is my first set of in-ear headphones to have ANC, so I was eager to see/hear what kind of listening experience they would provide. The product is really well-done from a design standpoint, from the one-piece matte black charging case with clever sliding lid to the ergonomic and lightweight design of the earpieces. These ship with 4 sizes of silicone ear tips and 4 sizes of ear wings that are easy to change to help you find the right fit and comfort for the earpieces to create a good seal and stay in your ears. These are also IPX4 water-resistant against sweat and moisture so would be a great fit for exercise and active folks; just note that the charging case is not water-resistant.The case itself has an internal battery, and each time you place ... MoreThe Liberty 3 Pro is my first set of in-ear headphones to have ANC, so I was eager to see/hear what kind of listening experience they would provide. These are also IPX4 water-resistant against sweat and moisture so would be a great fit for exercise and active folks; just note that the charging case is not water-resistant.The case itself has an internal battery, and each time you place the ear buds in them it will top them up, up to 3 full charges, when youâre away from a power source. With up to 8 hours of play time on a single full charge, thatâs a combined 32 hours of playback time before the case needs to be re-charged, and with its fast-charging capability, a 15-minute charging session in the case can provide about 3 hours of listening time. I liked that the case can be charged wirelessly using a compatible Qi charging station as well as while plugged in via the included 2 ft USB-C cable. The ear buds power on automatically when the charging case is opened, so you donât need to fiddle with on/off controls; just take them out of the case and place them in your ears. Pairing with the headphones over Bluetooth is simple and straightforward, and I didnât have any trouble connecting with various devices like my computer or mobile phone. The earpieces automatically pair with each other and can be paired with 2 devices simultaneously. The Soundcore mobile app lets you unlock the full potential of these earbuds, though you will need to sign up for an account in order to use it. I was curious to try the fit test, as itâs supposed to tell you which ear tips create the best seal for your ears by utilizing the microphones on the earbuds and measuring sound levels outside and inside your ear canals. Thankfully the most comfortable pair of ear tips for me also resulted in a âGood Sealâ result from this test. I also completed the HearID Sound Test which creates a custom profile of the sound curve that each individual ear can pick up. With this feature you can apply EQ settings that are optimized for your ears rather than a generic sound profile, for me the result was a fuller sound with superb balance across ranges. I also tried the 3D Surround Sound Effect, but I felt this resulted in very bright and sizzly sounding audio that widened the sound stage but didnât exactly feel immersive. With the in-ear audio optimizations the audio was very clean and detailed, even at moderate to low volume levels. There are three different modes for active noise cancelling: on, off (normal), or transparency mode, which uses the noise cancelling mics to pass through ambient sound from your surroundings to your ear while music is playing for more situational awareness. There are two settings within Transparency mode for general ambient noise or vocal focus, to pick up voices better in a loud environment. When activated, the active noise cancellation (ANC) was very effective at reducing constant background hum like equipment fan noise and helped to drown out other persistent sounds like background chatter, but punctuating sounds like keyboard strokes still managed to come through a little. I did appreciate that turning on ANC didnât affect the color of the sound or quality of the audio playing through the headphones.Transparency mode really did help accentuate the sounds around me that would normally be blocked even without ANC turned on, which is useful if you need to pay attention to your surroundings, for example, listening for announcements at the airport. Just note that by default the on-ear control for turning âoffâ ANC actually switches to Transparency mode, rather than ânormalâ mode, though this behavior can be changed in the setting on the app to toggle between any of the three modes. The app also lets you customize the touch controls and each earpiece can perform different actions using a single, double, or triple tap as well as a long touch (2 seconds), so even though volume adjustment isnât a default control, you can add it using your preferred touch gesture. For example, I added a triple tap function to trigger the voice assistant, so I can talk to Google Assistant quickly without taking my phone out of my pocket. The one area I think these could improve on is latency. When listening to music or a podcast this isnât an issue, but when watching video on my phone and computer (with Bluetooth 5.0 support) I did notice lag and sync issues with the images on the screen matching the audio with a slight but detectable delay. These headphones can also be used for taking hands-free calls and both the audio and mic quality were fine for that purpose. The one thing I had a hard time with was comfort when wearing these headphones for a long time. Because the curvature of my ear is kind of shallow and the body of the earpiece is wide and chunky, with only a short neck at the eartip, the hard plastic body of the headphones is constantly pressing up against the lower curve of my ears, and I canât wear the headphones for longer than an hour without feeling discomfort at the contact/pressure point. Thatâs a major bummer because I canât use these for extended periods, for example on long commutes or lengthy work meetings and have to fall back on my on/over ear headphones which donât travel as well due to size.Overall, the sound quality of the headphones and active noise cancellation are very good. The customizable EQ settings are great and make everything sound crystal clear and crisp, and using it with my Android phone allows me to take advantage of LDAC support for hi-res audio. They're tiny and portable with lots of battery life, however, these werenât the best for watching video content due to perceivable latency, and I found them uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. Memory foam ear tips might help me out comfort-wise, but the contact pressure from the body of the earpieces would still be an issue for me.
I have ears that have trouble with earbuds. The included tips and wings allowed me to customize them in a way that lets me wear these for 1-2 hours at a time and not be bothered but them. Some reviewers have stated the "hearing test" seems a gimmick however I think the custom EQ it gave me after it saw how deaf I am actually sounds better than the others and me messing with the manual settings.Passthrough works well and enables me to hear co-workers when I need to. Noise cancelation seems good, though I have no prior experience to compare it to.Sound quality is balanced for me. They have the highs and mids you need for good sound and enough bass punch to make songs that utilize it sound and feel authentic. Windows [at least for me] installed a second "option" disabled ....control panel, devices and printers, right click on the soundcore click sound settings and you will notice "headphones" is enabled, "headset" is disabled ... enable "headset" and select that as the desired device in your web chat of choice [and in the sound dropdown in the windows tray] and this solves the issue.I feel this is more a windows issue than an issue with these buds. Older bluetooth profiles don't seem to suffer these bugs [as they only install one device on connect]All in all, well worth the price I paid. Love these buds!
First off the presentation is absolutely top notch by Anker. Love how the box flips open to reveal the buds, tips and wings. Some of the higher end earbud makers don't give you this kind of experience,The app that lets you tweak your sound is awesome and is almost overwhelming in regards to amount of EQ and ANC settings that are available to you. Not to mention you can take a test that evaluates the frequencies you can hear and gives you a custom audio experience. For me that's where the positive experience ended. You can make the best sounding earbuds and have all the bells and whistles, but if you can't make them comfortable then why bother. I tried for several days going through all the wings and tips and I could not find a combination that made them comfortable to wear for an extended period of time. After about 2 hours my ears started hurting. Also the touch sensors on the buds were not all that responsive and I usually had to touch the button at least an extra time to make them respond. I really wish earbud makers would go back to physical buttons. These are fantastic sounding earbuds and give the Apples, Sony's, and Jabra's of the world a run for their money. They sound good, the ANC is solid, and the battery life is decent. It has multipoint BT which most high end makers should include nowadays. The case is well designed and charges wirelessly which is a plus.BUT, these are not comfortable for anyone who intends to wear these for long amounts of time. If Anker can redesign these to make them more comfortable for extended use then I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again.
I've had these earbuds for several months now and I grow more and more agitated with the performance of these buds compared to the Liberty 2 Pro. To start, the battery life when in use is not good at all. I rarely remember ever getting the low battery notification from the Liberty 2 Pro but with these, I may get two hours of combined talk or listening time before getting the low battery notification. The other issue is depressing the bud to end a call, it's sporadic at best. I always have to use the phone to end the call. I also find that there are connections issues and I have to reset the buds frequently. The best feature is the noise cancellation, I can be on my lawn mower and the person on the other end hears no noise residual what-so-ever. I am in the market for more earbuds and likely will be moving on from the Soundcore brand unless it can improve the battery life and sensory to that of the Liberty Pro 2. I would like to have marked them higher than 2 stars because of the high performance noise cancellation but compared to the better performing Liberty Pro 2 in all other areas I think they took a step backwards. I would not recommend these earbuds.
Pros- These things sound amazing! Their app tests your hearing in each ear, and does an ambient sound test and ear canal test and then makes a custom EQ for you based on your hearing etc. I couldn't match or beat it with the custom EQ settings and stuck with their custom EQ. Bass had good presence and treble clear great without being piercing.Noise cancelling and wind noise reduction work really well, and on my motorcycle on the freeway, I could barely hear the semi truck right next to me.Cons- I'm not a fan of their ear wing setup, and they are fiddly as all hell to get on correctly. If you have 20/20 vision at 10 inches and fingernails, they are probably fine but otherwise, their ear wings are meh.The fatal flaw (for me) is they will only pair with a device ... MorePros- These things sound amazing! Trying to use them through Android Auto and my phone, as soon as my phone was connected to the bike via USB, the audio was routed through the bike speakers instead of the buds. Using it for long distance motorcycle riding, I needed them to pair with my stereo head unit directly (so I could use my phone for Android Auto), which they could not do with no app present.Bottom line- If you only plan to use them with your phone/tablet, they sound fantastic and I'd say get them. If you ever want to pair them with anything that you can't install their app on though, then you need to keep looking.
