Good quality tube, but the width rating is absurd: This tube is way too wide to fit in a 1.25 width tire—it may be even extremely difficult to squeeze into a 1.5 tire. There’s no tube that’s going to work in a 1.25 to 2.0 width across that wide a range. This tube would be better rated at 1.75 to 2.0. Do not buy if you have a narrow width tire.

I was very happy with their work, customer service, and pricing. In hindsight, the young guy that I perceived as being rude, was actually looking out for our safety. Although he was not able to articulate it as well and as graciously as the vintage bike shop rep., both of their assessments were the same. Both bike shops refused to do a tune up on a bike that was no longer safe to ride, even though other bike shops would go ahead and do the tune up, anyway.I guess the perceived difference in attitude, comes from the focus of the two stores. The vintage bike shop shared the compassion, excitement and enthusiasm for the old vintage bike, and so they shared in the sadness of not being able to restore it. They also found a similar Schwinn in immaculate condition to replace it with.In summary , I feel that Erik's runs an efficient business with integrity.I will definitely return to that store for service, parts, and accessories. As for bikes, I am very happy with my 1952 Schwinn . . . ;-)

Great work but no call of completion
17 July 2018

I had a flat tire and being new to cycling I didn't want to take the chance of messing something up on changing the tube myself. So I took it to Erik's and they took the bike in right away. What I though would be a 20 minute process turned out to take a couple hours. I wasn't upset about that, it was a Saturday and the weather was nice so a lot of people were in the shop and I'm sure they had other orders they had to get to first. What kind of upset me was that no one called me when the job was done. I ended up calling myself for an ETA and it turned out it was already finished. I had a couple guys waiting on me to get it done so we could ride together. All in all, the job was completed perfectly and the tire is still working properly of course. I just wish someone ... MoreI had a flat tire and being new to cycling I didn't want to take the chance of messing something up on changing the tube myself. Installed 2 and both burst
2 July 2022

Bought 2 from a local bike shop. $11 a piece. Installed first which was fine. Second one burst at 35 psi while installing. First one burst the next morning. Took both to the bike shop. They replaced one at no cost, but that one also bursted while the bike tech was installing. For some reason this tube is longer than the original 20x1.5/1.75 Kenda tube. This is for a foldable bike.

Perfect black colour
24 April 2020

Tredz asked if I could review my purchase of this inner tube. I'm slightly bemused why anyone would need more than size, valve type and price to help decision making. So for you un-decided, here is what I think of it. This is the first tube my bike has needed in 20 years. The old one was looking a bit like a pin cushion from all the thorns and patches over the years. This new tube is the business. It has a perfectly matching black colour with my other inner tube. The valve fitted the hole in the rim and connector on my pump perfectly. Air is not included in the price. You have to supply it yourself but it is normally easy to find unless you are planning to cycle on the moon. Service from Tredz was perfect as usual and delivery was quick. They spring leaks at the seam
21 April 2020

The Good: I really like the Schrader tire valves with the threaded steel stems and the retaining nut. The Bad: I have had several of these tubes go bad on me. They tend to get small leaks at the seams. I carry a spare tube with me when I ride, and one time the brand new tube I was carrying turned out to be leaking after I made a tube change. Fortunately, I was carrying some patches as well. I was able to make it home after finding the leak (a bit difficult when on the trail) and patching it. The leak was at the seam. When I checked the tube I had replaced, I found the leak in that one was again at the seam. I don't know if this is a fluke or not, but this appears to be a weak point in Specialized mountain bike tubes. I want to check other reviews before buying any more of these tubes.

Tire blowouts
22 August 2020

I recently bought two of these tubes to use in a child trailer. After the second ride, one of the tubes failed, with a 2" blowout. The store replaced the tire at no charge, which I was grateful for. However, after one more ride I went out to get the trailer hooked up again for my grandson to ride in, and found that both tires were flat. I removed them and found 2-3" blowouts in both at the level of the valve stems, but not involving the stems themselves. I carefully checked both wheel rims and both tires for any debris , sharp edges, etc. And found none. Needless to say, I won't take a chance on this brand again, and am wondering if this was a batch of defective tubes. Also, the tires were inflated to 36 lbs as instructed on the sides of the tires. Tube had a hole, store wouldnt take it back
2 September 2020

Within 1 week of buying this and my first ride locally, the tube had a leak. It was on the side part of the tube. I took it to the store at Willow Glenn, but the manager refused to accept it back saying since I installed it, it can't be taken back!I don't understand that. He wouldn't replace it unless they had done the replacement. Thats silly, why would I pay them $25 to replace a tube that I can do myself. The tube damage was inside, so it's not thorn damage from riding.Anyways, I don't think I would have had this issue had I bought it from Amazon. Next time I'll buy from there. The manager literally lost a customer for that tube's wholesale cost of $3.

Yes, Best Looking Tubes I've seen
9 August 2018

What's there to get excited about a Schrader valve bicycle tube? Been fixing flats since I was a little kid in the 50's. Ran a bike shop during the 1970's and I've been using Presta valve tubes almost exclusively since 1973. I'm overhauling a friend's classic 1970's. A LBS sold me a pair of Specialized 700cx20-28 Schrader valve tubes. Out of the box they look better than any tubes I've ever seen. They have threaded metal valve stems with lock nuts and a smooth rubber surface that easily slides into the tire. Best thing is that they fit just right and don't bunch up from being oversized. Just bought two more so he'll have some spares.
