Needed replacement. Bought as a last resort. Bike as designed is ok. But well below my standards for a daily commuting. Major complaint is 140mm rear. (no brakes = doesn't stop, barely slows me down) Other specialized bikes were still out of stock. Bought bike and completely rebuilt everything (gears, wheels, brakes) FULL XT. 2x11 with 160mm f/r brakes

Within 5 miles of my first ride the chain popped off twice AND the left crank arm fell off completely. This caused me to fall on the shoulder of a busy road and I was furious. This is my first bike purchase EVER. Specialized game highly recommended by all of my friends who cycle and I was very excited to make this purchase. At $950+ after tax I was very disappointed that it fell apart. I brought it back to the store and they said "..if this one bolt isn't tightened thoroughly it can strip causing the crank arm to fall off..". So I asked for a replacement and I received one within 2 weeks. Now my brand new bike is making all sorts of noises and grinding when I pedal that I don't feel comfortable putting my weight into the pedals for fear it will fall apart on me ... MoreWithin 5 miles of my first ride the chain popped off twice AND the left crank arm fell off completely. I would very much like to trade the bike in for another Specialized model due to other negative reviews on this model.

I bought this because in my area, the availability of bikes is basically none because of coronavirus. There is basically no stock of the bike I really wanted - the Trek FX3 Disc. However, I was assured that this, along with the Cannondale Quick 3, are pretty good equivalents to the FX3 Disc.I've had this bike for about 4 days now. I've ridden about 27 miles, great majority on the road. It has been a smooth ride so far and seemed to perform well. The lightweight design has also been pretty great, and I'm getting some great workouts.I haven't had the issues the below users have mentioned with the left crank and pedal. I am really worried now. I also feel like I was lied to (surprise) by bike shop owners that failed to mention this. I'm going to bring this to the shop ... MoreI bought this because in my area, the availability of bikes is basically none because of coronavirus. But it's been great for me so far.

I am just getting back into riding and wanted a fun bike for getting around in the city. I was initially looking at a road bike with drop bars but then I saw the Sirrus and fell in love with it. The LBS had an extra large in stock so I jumped on it and am very happy with my purchase. This bike is extremely comfortable to ride and I even like the saddle which I thought would need replacing but it feels really good. This bike looks good, and rides good.
My crank arm came off also. The pieces were all there, re-attached 5 then finished the last 20 miles and safely made it home. The good folks at the bike store were familiar with the issue and had a tech specially trained to repair it. Took it in on Wed, home on Thur and riding the on weekend. The bike store was apologetic. I have enjoyed riding this bike so much. I re-entered the world of cycling last May, 2020. Our rides are usually in the 20-30 mile range and a mix of inclines, flat, hills and mountain. I can always find a comfortable gear in the 18 compressed combo. I am in a sunbelt state and ride year round, just sweat more in the desert heat. The tires were ""meh"", upgraded to Continental Gator Skins and no flats since. Many of my friends have taken it for a ... MoreMy crank arm came off also. The best comment came from one who said ""this bike rides itself!""
I bought this bike at the end of May out of the need of a bike to commute to work. I found it in a sports store close to my job that had just re-open their bike store and they had it available. On my 4th ride I started to hear a cracking noise on my way to work, I though it was the pedal and decided that since I was going to work I'll just drop it to have check as it was literarily 5 days after I had bought it. Well, I did not make it to the store. After a minute the entire left crank felt part. Luckily I was in the bike path with no one near me so I was able to stop without hurting myself or anyone else. Pick up the scratched pieces and head to store where I bought it by subway. The guys at the store apologize and said that they do not assemble that part of the ... MoreI bought this bike at the end of May out of the need of a bike to commute to work. Pick up the scratched pieces and head to store where I bought it by subway. The guys at the store apologize and said that they do not assemble that part of the bike, they put it together on the spot, they gave me a $20 specialized multitool as a gift and just in case. I was back on the road. When it works, it works. After lots of rides, last friday, I start to hear the same cracking again. I stopped and the left crank is half way out about to fall apart again. Manage fix with the multitool and made it home despite making horrible sounds at the crank. I bring it to the store where I bought it to have it checked and they told me that they have a ""voluntary"" recall for the bike. Disappointment and frustration came along as they mention that it will require a quick easy fix, removing something out of the spacers, but it will take 4 days. I wish I had bought this to have fun or exercise, but this was a way to get to work and I, as many others spend a little money for certain quality. Yes it is not a 10K bike but to put in perspective I bought a $400 GT bike for my wife in July with 0 problems, nada. On top of it Specialized did not made an attempt to reach out, feels lack of accountability. I doubt I will buy Specialized products again. I don't feel confident of the brand at this point.
I bought the new Sirrus 3.0 from a local dealer. I knew about the recall and asked and was told that it was good to go. After one ride I had to return to the shop (45 minutes each way) for a front shifter problem. They said the cable came loose in the housing. The after another ride I started hearing intermittent clicking noises and found that the cranks were loose and I could move them side to side through the bottom bracket. I took it back (again) and the guy said it was a known issue and he tightened it up and sent me on my way. If they had verified that the recall fix was done - why did I have this problem a week after buying the bike??? I wish I had kept my 2016 Crosstrail Sport - never had any issues with that bike. I also don't like the front shifter at all ... MoreI bought the new Sirrus 3.0 from a local dealer. I knew about the recall and asked and was told that it was good to go. I just read so many reviews about left pedal fell off and that's what exactly happened to me. I was a beginner to bike when I bought Sirrus 3.0 (XS). Quite expensive bike but I love it until over a few weeks I becoming better to ride my bike, run fast and all of the sudden the left pedal came off. I was so nervous because I was in the road with cars passing by but luckily I managed to pull over at the side of the road and also manage find the missing part. Then brought it back to shop and hoping that it won't happen.again.
I will start this off that I am tall at 6'2"" and have the XL size of the bike. For some reason the XL size comes with a narrower saddle than some of the other sizes so had to invest in a new saddle. After only 2 months my pedal had stripped through the crank. After getting that crank replaced another month of riding and my entire left crank stripped off during a ride causing me to crash on a hill because of the spacer recall. I was not overly comfortable on the flat bars and had them converted to a drop bars which makes for a better experience on this frame with a very long tube length. I have been riding Specialized bikes for long time and this is my first bad experience.
I use this bike to cycle around my neighbourhood for fitness and to go to the store. The shifters are responsive and reliable, and I haven't had any problems with the drivetrain. Note that the front derailleur requires a hard, two click press in order to shift properly. I was worried it was broken, but having come from shimano shifters, I just wasn't used to having to press the lever all the way back. The bike is very lightweight, and rides comfortably over gravel trails and wooden bridges. The tires are too smooth to reliably climb up gravel, but if you take it slow you can make it. Besides, if I really wanted to hit gravel I'd just switch tires since the fork can take it. I was so happy with this bike that I suggested my dad get one, he got the 2.0 and is also ... MoreI use this bike to cycle around my neighbourhood for fitness and to go to the store. The black paint is slightly sparkly when viewed up close, and from afar it has a nice stealth look with the red highlights that make it pop.
