I've been wearing this model of the speedcross since they released the wide-width. The durability of the shoe has drastically decreased, and they still haven't made the shoes waterproof like the normal speedcross sizes. Why? I've worn these shoes for trail running, peak bagging, and anything not on pavement. Generally I am pleased with the grip, fit, etc. Most recently I climbed a larger peak but nothing super technical, and my newest speedcross were about 2 weeks out of the box. Awesome trail runners!!! Worked great for hiking in Moab. Love the quick laces- makes it so much easier to get a tight fit for steep inclines without the work of traditional laces. They run large so size down for a better fit. Tried others out there that have a softer sole, but opted for the grip and was not disappointed. Will purchase another pair. Also purchased the kids versions for my 2 littles.

I'm obsessed with these shoes. Didn't think it was possible to do a ton of walking and standing all day and not have sore feet until I tried these shoes. I also prefer a wider toe box and these are fantastic. I got them for my daughter in college as she works a job on her feet and she was amazed how good her feet felt in them as well. Between the 2 of us we have now purchased 4 pair of these between the Speedcross 5 and 6. We call them our angry shoes. Looking at the sole in person you would totally understand. They would work wonderfully to kick someone in defense if you needed it.

These are the 3rd pair of Salomon trail shoes I've bought (all from REI) but the 1st of this model. I've probably put 20+ miles on them so far and the jury is still out. They have taller lugs than my previous pairs and seem to run a bit wide especially in the tow box. I am man but often buy women's running shoes since they run narrower but these seem even wide for the B width they are.Giving them 4 out of 5 since they may not be the right shoe for me as opposed to a bad shoe.Hopefully they will work well for me this season. Planning on using them for a 50K this fall...
Salomon’s straight last and stiffer sole are just what my stride wants, and lately I need more toe space. Thanks to a very helpful sales associate who suggested I try a wide fit in the Speedcross, which was one of the last left in my size plus on sale, I took that and the Genesis in a half size up.Thanks to REI’s very generous return policy, I was able to try both at home with my customorthotics and it was instantly clear. I returned the Speedcross the next day—which was especially satisfying since I really did not like the dusty violet color! The Genesis is proving itself out on the trail—-great fit, good support and traction.Thanks for all you do to get the right product for each customer!
Was such an amazing shoe—fit comfortable as a sock with the grip of a hiking shoe. Loved my first pair and wore it everywhere. The last pair was not as comfortable out of the box (I got an insert, which helped but didn’t totally resolve discomfort) and wore out absurdly quickly. A friend who recommended them to me had the same experience with her latest pair.Used to be great. Maybe they’re saving money on manufacturing now, but it’s not the same shoe. Not recommended.
I was terribly injured while ski patrolling back in 2016. I tore my ACL/MCL and experienced bone contusions on my left leg. After 2 years of continuous PT, I was finally able to work out again. However, I needed to find a pair of tennis shoes that gave me a good grip on any type of terrain. Fortunately, I found the Salomon Speedcross 6 Shoe. I think these are my 6th pair. I don't feel like I'm going to slip and re-injure my knee. I always feel confident working out wearing this type of shoe. Don't ever get rid of these! I LOVE them!
I've been wearing Solomon brand shoes since my MBA team participated in a backcountry hike. I fell in love with their GTX shoes and did a very challenging hike (for me) and was able to finish with no blisters. They did a good job supporting my ankles. These shoes are a little different, however no less comfortable and I love the speed laces when I am walking or hiking. No laces to come untied. The color is great and the tread is good also. This is my 5th pair of Solomons and I would rate them number two behind my GTX.

I also have type II diabetes, achilles tendonitis (from heel spurs) and arthritis behind my knees. I have spent a lot of time researching, and buying, different trail runners to find that perfect pair. I wanted comfortable trail runners that have a great grip, easy to lace and have a good drop for my knees and heels. I find Hoka comfortable to wear but was consistently get a blister on outside of my big toe and outer edge of the ball of my foot when hiking in them (even after changing sizes, socks etc). These are so perfect for me that I’m contemplating the purchase of a second pair in case they get discontinued or changed. Wore them to Pine Grove Furnace State Park, PA this past week. Right out of the box! Brought to wear on the trails but they were so comfortable that I wore them around camp too. Hated taking them off. The color is AWESOME and looks great with so much of my stuff! The lock laces are easy to use. There is a finger loop/grab on the tongue to hold when pulling on so that the tongue doesn’t fall into the shoe. There is not a heel loop/grab (which would be a nice addition but not enough to not buy these). By your regular size and get outside, your feet will love them!
I have wide feet. I often get blisters under the wide part of my foot even in wide fit shoes. I dread buying trail shoes. These are amazing. They wrap gently around your feet. I love the lacing that fits away in pockets so no snags getting caught on undergrowth in narrow trails. Brilliant grip on steep muddy trails. I wish I could get the same shoe fit and style for rocky trails with more cushioning. Other than that I love these shoes. I am sure the normal fit at just as good.
