SPIGEN Liquid Air Slim Black Case - For Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Best Feature:Toughness and gripValue For Money:not really since this is super expensiveProduct Quality:bestProduct came complete & in order. Works as expectes and provides a secure silo for the S Pen, and is thin enough to work with wireless charging for from desk chargers to car chargers. Will certainly tout this case for my everyday carry.

A great case for S-Pen enthusiasts

This case is only for people who want to carry a the S-Pen. Its a very high quality case, i havent used the original samsung case however looking at this product i am confident that it would be equally good if not better. The product has good anti-slip texture, so the people who are frustrated due to the phone slipping on surfaces, would definitely benefit from the anti-slip textures. Using external button on the case seems very comfortable. The only downside of the case is that it feels huge, if thats not an issue you should definitely consider this case.

Another win for Spigen

I upgrade phones once a year, because I'm an addict like that. I've put Spigen cases on every single phone I've owned for the last 8 years now and they have never let me down. Are there cases out there that will offer more protection? Absolutely, but at the cost of size. Spigen's cases always strike a nice balance between protection and looks. The texturing on this case adds some much needed grip to this phone. I'm always afraid my phone's going to slip out of my hand like a bar of soap when it's out of the case. The little pen storage spot is nice and convenient. The pen goes in sideways, so the Samsung logo either faces you or the floor while you're holding your phone normally. Took me a second to figure that orientation out. It's too tight to really fit the other ... MoreI upgrade phones once a year, because I'm an addict like that. Good, but maybe Samsung is Better for Me?

I have the Samsung with S-Pen version of this protective case and I've provided pictures for comparison. Overall, they are both nice, Samsung may have the edge. I'll try to explain. But first, let me say that for those that have reported the Samsung version as a dust, skin flake magnet - they are correct...but it goes away after several days of use. It may be skin oils rubbing onto the case helps deflect the attraction to dust - either way, I don't have a problem with it anymore. In the pictures you will see the front and back of the case with S-Pen attached. The two images is the Spigen and the last two images is the Samsung. Here are some key points: 1) Samsung comes with an S-Pen, which can be anywhere from $25 - 40, so figure that into the cost of the Samsung ... MoreI have the Samsung with S-Pen version of this protective case and I've provided pictures for comparison. Here are some key points: 1) Samsung comes with an S-Pen, which can be anywhere from $25 - 40, so figure that into the cost of the Samsung version. Spigen does not come with the pen and is ONLY compatible with the S-Pen that comes with the Samsung case. Note - I cannot seem to find the compatible S-pen for sale by itself. 2) Samsung has a velvety, silky smooth matte'ish feel to it. The Spigen feels less luxurious, but still nice. 3) Because of the way I hold the phone and rest it on my pinky finder, the charging hole at the bottom of the case on the Samsung is a bit sharp, and the front part of that lip feels floppy, it's soft (only over the charging port because of the cutout, everywhere else is fine). The Spigen front lip cut-out is nice and firm and is comfortable on the pinky. 4) The left side of the (front facing) Samsung case is wider than the right side - this is to house the pen. Same for the Spigen. However, for the Samsung, you cannot see the pen insert (my preference) vs. the Spigen has the finger cut-out assistance. For Samsung, the left lip is a little bit higher, due to left side of the case being a little thicker. I actually like this, feels like a grip area for my thumb. Spigen is the same thickness all the way around. 5) The camera cutout on the Samsung protects the surrounding matte lens housing and overall bump. Spigen cut-out is for the entire bump. Less preferred. 6) Both seem to have the same amount of "rock" when placed on a flat surface. 7) Samsung seems to have the edge on better surface grip. I haven't tried to purposely do any drop tests but they equally seem to have the amount of protection heft. In conclusion, I will for sure keep the Samsung because I need the pen. I may keep the Spigen as a backup or maybe to do some custom case artwork or stickers on the back.

My favorite S21 Ultra case

I got the Samsung case with S-Pen for free as a preorder bonus, but I jumped on this case as soon as I knew about it. I'm really glad I did, it's my favorite S-Pen case so far. The pen is much easier to remove, I was worried it was sticking out a bit too much and would catch on my pocket but I've never had any trouble with it. I also really like the anti-slip texture on the back. I was worried my PopSocket wouldn't stick well to the textured surface but it stuck on really well and hasn't given me any trouble since. I've seen some reviews complaining that this case doesn't hold the S-Pen very well, please ignore them. This case is only designed for the larger passive S-Pen that came out with the S21. S-Pens from Note phones are generally smaller and will not fit ... MoreI got the Samsung case with S-Pen for free as a preorder bonus, but I jumped on this case as soon as I knew about it. Outstanding

This case blows Samsung's silicone case out of the water. Samsung's case is hard to get out of your pocket and consistently picks up dust and gets dirty. Not to mention there is barely any protection for an outrages price. I bought Spigen Rugged Armor cases for my Samsung Buds Pro and the plus. I was blown away for what I got for a little over ten bucks. I got an outstanding modern and mimalist design with protection and functionality. So when I went looking for a case that had an S Pen holder, I was pretty stoked that Spigen was one of the very few offering an S Pen holder. Well, one that wasn't some slapped together ill designed, garbage. When I got this case I wasn't let down. This case protects your phone from some pretty good falls. Spigen, you guys got it together. Keep on doin your thing and I'll keep buying.

Pics in ad is misleading. Still will use it due to no competition.

There is a short list of S-pen cases for the S21 Ultra. Credit to Spigen for designing and offering it. The only other offering is direct from Samsung for 3x's more, $59.95, for now. Cases can make a phone better. And this case made the S21 Ultra better. Fact is the pictures of this Spigen S-pen case are slightly misleading. First the pic shows the "Spigen" logo being white. It's not, it's glossy black. The pictures led me to believe it was a much softer rubber than it actually is. This is the a primary complaint for me. I prefer a less hard sandy plastic composite and more rubber TPU soft feel, not as slippery, a little more give in the fingers when I hold it for more hand comfort and confidence. It isn't bad, minor, but ideally, it would be a much better case if ... MoreThere is a short list of S-pen cases for the S21 Ultra. Credit to Spigen for designing and offering it. It isn't bad, minor, but ideally, it would be a much better case if it were softer and more rubbery, less plastic feel. The feel of the actual phone ***** is much better, but it's difficult to do that confidently, so I do need a case and a place for the S-pen. Fit: the fit is exceptional, and the girth of the case is on par with the ability to house the S-pen. The S-pen fits nice and secure, tightly, and I feel quite confident it will not fall out. But it's easy enough to pull out for quick use. The S-pen holder does it's job precisely, adding to the S21 Ultra's productivity features. It works very well. Quality: Exceptionally well cut. Cut outs are exact and even. I see no noticeable flaws in overall fit to the S21 Ultra. It raises the phone when the screen is face down off the surface by just millimeters to protect the screen, and does the same for the camera. Premium and precise cut out. Detailed side grooves lined is a nice extra to extenuate confidence in holding your S21 Ultra. The S-pen compartment is also a well designed layout. The back cross cut groove design looks excellent and feels nice in the hand overall. Setting expectations with accurate pictures and meeting it when it's delivered is a big part of customer satisfaction. Because the pics, IMO, were misleading, my expectations weren't met. Without those misleadning pictures, I would likely give a 5 star. That's the bottom line. With that said, I will use this case with my S21 Ultra, replacing the OEM Samsung clear case with a stand, that I got with the trade in Samsung offer. It's nice to be able to carry the S-pen and it's also nice that Spigen stepped up to offer this, and give me a better price alternative to the Samsung OEM S-pen case. Should you buy it. Yes. But base your expectations on this review. Not the actual Spigen pics and description. Word to Spigen -- do better with your description and pictures for your buyers. Quality and Value met.

Real review

The case has the same feel as any case built in the past. It's the usual Spigen quality. This is pretty slim case, I wish it was a little thicker and flush across the back so there is no camera ****. I don't know why they insisted on making their line this way. Barely any protection for the camera. There is only a slight raised edge to protect this behemoth of a ****. The Samsung cases even protects more of the lenses by covering the **** and cutting out holes for each lens. I'm not really loving the pattern grip on the back. I don't grab the back of the phone, I grip the sides. I don't need to be scrubbing all the little grooves to keep it clean. The pen stays in very well and is easily accessible. Locks in and comes out without a hitch. Once in. The pen isn't ... MoreThe case has the same feel as any case built in the past. It's the usual Spigen quality. Locks in and comes out without a hitch. Once in. The pen isn't going anywhere. I can see why the eliminated all the buttons on the left side of the phone, it was envisioned for this pen. To me Samsung got it wrong unless they designed it for lefties. My thumb is better suited to adjust the volume and power off the phone with my left hand. When I need the S pen, I'll grab it with my right hand, which should be from the right side of the phone. Not flip the phone take the pen out then use it. Which makes it a 2 hand deal instead of just pulling it out without moving the phone. Anyways, nothing to do with the case. The power button is textured so you can feel which is which between the volume. The entire side is also textured for better grip. Overall for the price I like it, just wish it was tweaked a little better.

Save your money, they don't stand behind their products!

Well, a short drop from my car seat to the ground and a shattered screen on a $1,200 phone and they (Spigen) tell me I'm SOL. Just because we con you all into buying our Phone Protecting Product, do you honestly believe we are going to actually ‘Protect’ your phone from damage?I bet they will not even post this review, and no one will see it. If you are buying one of their cases for "Protection," then I hope you have full coverage insurance on your phone!

Way better than the Samsung S-pen Case

I initially got one of the Samsung s-pen cases when I ordered my phone. The outside is almost sticky and seemed to pick up every piece of lint in my pocket, along with dragging my earbuds out with my phone so they fall on the floor. in addition, the material around all of the ports was already stretching out and getting loose after about a month of use. The Spigen case is much better. It slides in and out of my pocket with no effort, yet still has enough texture to help prevent drops. Provided you install the s-pen in the correct orientation, it fits perfectly and doesn't fall out. Overall this is a great case. I only wish there was more than just this and the Samsung case to choose from (like maybe different colors or a rugged option with a built-in screen protector).
