I'm glad I ignored a lot of the negative reviews and grabbed this case. This is an excellent case for the price. It went on easily, holds my phone snugly, keeps the camera lenses and screen off of any surfaces, doesn't wobble when I lay it flat, and it's clear and shows off my new blue phone. Some texture on the sides for a better grip would have been nice, but this case is still not hard to hold onto. For reference, I'd say this case is easier to hold than the phone by itself. This case is also comfortable enough that I never think about the fact that I'm holding onto a case. I just get to enjoy using my phone without worrying about dropping it. That said, I haven't dropped it yet, so I can't say for certain how much protection the case would offer, but it feels ... MoreI'm glad I ignored a lot of the negative reviews and grabbed this case. Are the buttons flat, yes. Are they impossible to find with your finger, no. Each button has little grooves on either side that you can easily find with your finger until you develop muscle memory. It took me all of 20 minutes to get into the habit of finding the buttons without looking. As far as the text on the buttons and the side of the case, it's not some glaring affront to the eyes. I wouldn't have thought twice about the text other than having seen some people complain about it on here. If that sort of thing bothers you, you should probably spend more than $12 on your phone case.Originally, I was buying this as a cheap temp case until the $90 Mous case I wanted was back in stock, but after seeing what a good job this $12 case does, I might save ~$80 instead and just go with this Spiegen unless/until it fails. If you need a case for your new phone, do yourself a favor and just spend the $12 to buy this one. It will be money well spent.

I've used Spigen clear cases on my phones for at least 4 years, and they've protected my precious iPhones from more drops than I care to admit. (I drop my phone probably twice a week!). The Spigen Ultra Hybrid is the more protective one, the Spigen Liquid Crystal is slightly less protective but also slightly slimmer.I got my 12 Pro Max on launch day, and Spigen's case was coming out a week later, so I bought another brand. It's perfectly fine, but it costs more and isn't as nice as the Spigen Ultra Hybrid, so I bought the Spigen and will keep the other one as a spare. The Ultra Hybrid really has excellent drop protection (not quite as much drop protection as Otterbox, but Otterbox is heavy and bulky and costs 3 or 4 times as much). The Ultra Hybrid also has a better ... MoreI've used Spigen clear cases on my phones for at least 4 years, and they've protected my precious iPhones from more drops than I care to admit. I agree, but that part doesn't bother me so much. For me, it's easy to find the volume buttons because they're immediately below the mute switch, and you can easily feel the small cutout in the case through which you access the mute switch. The other thing about the buttons is, when I press either of the volume buttons, it makes my screen protector get a small bubble on the edge next to the button. Thankfully, the bubble goes away as soon as I release the button. This might be happening because I didn't perfectly center the screen protector when I applied it. And I don't think it's damaging the screen protector at all. But it's a little annoying. I never experienced this on previous versions of the Ultra Hybrid for other iPhones, and I've had the exact same screen protector on all of them. So, for me, a slight annoyance but not enough to prevent me from enthusiastically recommending this case.

I have used Spigen cases since 2015 with my iPhone 6, so I have come to expect a certain mix of quality and price from the company, and this particular product doesn’t disappoint.Pros:- Relatively low price for acceptable quality. I don’t have to pay $50 or even $20 for a case that protects the phone better than Apple’s own products.- Close fit. I have never had a loose or sloppy fit with any Spigen case, this one is no exception.- Decent bumper thickness, about 3/32” or almost 2.5mm at the thickest point.- Lip above the screen and camera lenses. Enough to keep the glasses from touching the table surface, not enough to be obnoxious.- Thin and light. It doesn’t completely obscure the slim lines of my iPhone 12 Pro.- Elastic bumper material provides decent protection ... MoreI have used Spigen cases since 2015 with my iPhone 6, so I have come to expect a certain mix of quality and price from the company, and this particular product doesn’t disappoint.Pros:- Relatively low price for acceptable quality. It doesn’t completely obscure the slim lines of my iPhone 12 Pro.- Elastic bumper material provides decent protection from minor drops. This model is slightly thicker and springier than my usual Spigen Liquid Air, and I have never had any broken phone in that case. It’s not an Otterbox Defender though, so don’t expect that kind of protection if you’re a construction worker who is rough on his phone.- Raised corners on the back of the phone that keep the hard transparent back plate off the table surface.Con:The buttons sit flush on the sides of the case. It’s visually pleasing but functionally deficient. Finding the power / Siri button by feel is not too hard, but figuring out the volume up and down buttons without looking is not that easy. They should give the buttons a different texture rather than just marking them with +, - and PWR.
The case is a perfect fit for the 13 pro max, it has saved my phone from a couple of drops on hard surfaces so protection wise it’s great.Although the little magnet kept coming off whenever I removed the phone from the case and would be stuck to the back of the phone and after contacting the genuine reseller they suggested I glue it back into the case to prevent this from happening again. Then within 6 months the sides started to turn yellow/brown.The rear hard part of the case also developed very visible scuff marks where the mag safe connects to the back of the phoneOne of the reasons I purchased this case was because it came with a anti yellow resin which made me believe the case would stay clearer for longer and it’s the first clear case I’ve ever purchased ... MoreThe case is a perfect fit for the 13 pro max, it has saved my phone from a couple of drops on hard surfaces so protection wise it’s great.Although the little magnet kept coming off whenever I removed the phone from the case and would be stuck to the back of the phone and after contacting the genuine reseller they suggested I glue it back into the case to prevent this from happening again. Then within 6 months the sides started to turn yellow/brown.The rear hard part of the case also developed very visible scuff marks where the mag safe connects to the back of the phoneOne of the reasons I purchased this case was because it came with a anti yellow resin which made me believe the case would stay clearer for longer and it’s the first clear case I’ve ever purchased for my phone as in the past with my previous phones I’ve purchased the tough armour cases which were black
The Spigen Ultra Hybrid for my iPhone 13 Pro Max has been great. For point of comparison, I'm comparing it to the official Apple Leather case and an Otterbox Defender for a iPhone 13 Pro. From a protection standpoint, it's going to protect against drops and scratches, that I'm confident of. The Ultra Hybrid goes around the entire outside of the phone as expected and you don't get any odd unprotected points like you did with the Apple Leather cases of yesteryear. There are extra cushions on the 4 corners to help absorb any extra impact. I do mention that it is also not too thick either, but it's not ultra thin. I'd put it in the medium ground of phone case thickness, with a Peel as Ultra thin and an Otterbox Defender as the thicker end.Outside of protection, the case ... MoreThe Spigen Ultra Hybrid for my iPhone 13 Pro Max has been great. It's one of the downsides of a clear case, but you should know that going into it. It's not going to be different from any other case on the market. The side buttons are on point and feel great. You don't get any mushy reactions from the phone and work great. The Magsafe on the back is quite good for the one Magsafe accessory that I have. I've got a Magsafe Popsocket to help keep my 13 Pro Max a bit more manageable in situations where I know one handed use is needed. It's clipped on as good as the official Apple Leather Case and takes quite a bit of force to get off. As of right now, I don't have an reservations with Magsafe accessories and their stickyness to the back of the case. All in all, I'd rate it one of the better cases that I've owned throughout the years. It's simple, does it's job and that's all I can really ask for in this type of case. Would highly recommend.
I’m a huge fan of these cases and every year it’s a struggle to find a case that is aesthetically pleasing, comfortable to hold and functional. Ultimately it’s this clear case that wins. It started out as a quick shopping experience to get something protective on the iPhone while more cases make it to the market. If the buttons were a maybe 2 millimeters higher the buttons would be more responsive. I also believe if Spigen could get the MagSafe in this case it would flat out be so much better than Apple’s clear case which I found too slick and not a fan of the bottom not being covered.Update 11/1 after many attempts it is nearly impossible for my 16 your old to do screen shots and identify buttons due to the low profile. While the low profile helps keep the case form fitting it causes the buttons to be too difficult to respond for volume up and down as well as screen shots. I’ve struggled with it as well but have decided I will keep my case but will have to send his back as he gets too frustrated with the button covers being too flat.
I normally go for Apple cases, on my previous phones. I have had Spigen before as well. But the last two phones have had Apple leather cases. Both performed very well. And charges via MagSafe without issue. On the rare occasion I have taken the phone out of the case, I occasionally have the small magnetic bit stick to the phone rather than the case. But this is easily put back into its slot in the case. The only other thing, which is personal preference, is that on my last Apple leather case the bottom of the phone was exposed (the case grips to phone on the sides and top). The negative of this is that if had dropped the phone in a certain way I could have damaged that socket/speaker/mic area. The positive of this is that the swipe up gesture is easy. There is no restriction of the lip of a case. The Spigen, because it does protect the socket/speaker area doesn’t make it as frictionless to swipe up to unlock the phone. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a problem. I swipe and unlock without issue. But I just feel a case when I do it. But then again the speaker/socket area of the phone is protected.Brilliant case at the price point.
This is the 1st case I ordered for my 12 Pro Max. When I pre-ordered the phone, naturally, I got on Amazon and got a case and screen protector so I'd have those waiting the minute I got the phone. Well, I ordered the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Clear case, which I would say is more rigid than the Spigen Liquid Crystal case (the 2nd case I just received to replace this one), however the feel isn't terribly different. The Liquid Crystal case is a little bit more flexible and just a little bit more "tacky" feeling. The huge difference between this case and the Liquid Crystal case, is that the Ultra Hybrid's buttons are flush. When you're trying to hit snooze in the morning and you can't get it shut off because you can't find a button - it gets old pretty fast - 1 week to be exact. Every morning, fumbling the phone around just praying that a stray finger press will hit something, anything, just give me 9 more minutes! This is a huge design flaw. So I ordered the Liquid Crystal case and just got it in the mail. I haven't got to hit snooze yet, but I know I'll be able to find the buttons with them being raised. I would steer you away from this case, just because the flush buttons and direct you to Spigen's Liquid Crystal case or similar, with raised buttons. I love Spigen cases due to quality and value. Very little cost for a quality product. While I would not recommend this case in particular, I would still recommend Spigen products overall. I know at least the last 4 Iphone's I've had over the years survived and made it to trade-in thanks especially to living their life protected by a Spigen case.
I had used Ultra Hybrids in the past and in comparison, the iPhone 12 model is very different. Most notable change were the button coverings. Previous Ultra Hybrids had the TPU material molded around the buttons allowing for a very responsive and tactile click that emulates the feeling you are clicking on the button itself. The button coverings on the iPhone 12 Ultra Hybrid instead goes over the buttons and creates a very flat and flushed look with the rest of the phone. They also added these unappealing button indicators on top of the buttons (+,-, and PWR) like their customers don’t know what their buttons already do and need to look at the side for guidance. The flatter buttons also created a more unnatural clicking feeling where it feels like like you’re pushing ... MoreI had used Ultra Hybrids in the past and in comparison, the iPhone 12 model is very different. The flatter buttons also created a more unnatural clicking feeling where it feels like like you’re pushing the side of the phone instead of clicking a button. Taking a screenshot just feels uncomfortable trying to push both sides of the phone while changing the volume with using my right hand had often resulted in accidentally hitting the power button instead of the side of the phone for support.Another flaw with this case compared to my previous experience is it is missing a leg on the corner where the camera bump is that’s allows for flat table usage. The iPhone 12 Ultra Hybrid comes with three legs out of the box as an attempt to raise the phone to protect the camera but fails to slightly raise the camera side leaving the phone rocking when you use it flat on the table.I have had good experiences with Spigen Ultra Hybrids in the past but this case is a step on the wrong direction. Even their iPhone 12 Quartz Hybrid (similar case but with a tempered glass back) has preserved the original tactile button cutouts. I am hoping for a refreshed version 2 reverting some of the major changes they’ve introduced into this years design.
