What a great piece of German engineering! Flexible, adjustable, powerful and incredible accurate reproduction. It is the best solid state amplifier I have ever had for headphones! Plenty of power paired with my focal utopia's.

The Phonitor XE model is my upgrade from the Phonitor 2. Although the XE has a balanced output, the single-end output sounds excellent as well.One thing I noticed is that the XE can handle anything I throw at it. Be it quiet passages or a complex musical array, the XE plays it with ease. In other words, the XE has a lot of "muscles" driving the signals to the headphone with details that your DAC is capable of revealing.It is a pure joy to listen to high-quality musical productions.
