I don't care what the pundits may say; this guitar is professional grade! I have played for over 50 years and have owned many fine instruments, including a '95 Custom Shop Eric Clapton Stratocaster. IMHO, this Squier would be impressive at twice the price. The pickups are ToneRider TRS1 Pure Vintage (although we're not supposed to know that) and they reproduce the classic strat tone and "quack" VERY WELL! This instrument is VERY satisfying: good solid feel, great tone, good looks due to a high quality build, and amazing value. If you can refrain yourself from "brand snobbery", this instrument will serve even a professional musician VERY WELL!After all, I bought TWO: a two-tone sunburst AND a fiesta red. I love them both.

This is truly the best current production strat by fmic you can get outside of the custom shop. And not just for the money, like overall. I've tried/owned Strats from the player, vintera, performer, pro, american OG, ultra, custom shop. Outside of the custom shop this is the crown jewel of the line. The Cort factory knows what they're doing and does it better than american line guitars at 3-4 times the price. It has the same narrow tall frets they're putting on the american pros, which make bends go off like butter. It's an extremely fast feeling neck without being too skinny (I have large hands and generally prefer a bigger neck, but I love this neck. It's like a medium c with the slightest hint of a v, not a baseball bat but not a toothpick). The back of the neck ... The fretwork is immaculate, better than all the fender Mexican guitars. The frets are polished to a mirror finish, the fretboard edges are rolled. The tuners are smooth turning vintage style. Bone nut, steel saddles, perfect semi-light weight... it literally ticks every single box a vintage strat enthusiast could want. Oh and the pickups? Don't worry about having to swap them out for some expensive after market pups. They are PERFECTLY voiced for this instrument. Plenty of low end but not overwound, striking clarity and glassiness, middle positions quack properly, and the bridge pup is even wired to the tone control stock! I'd wager to bet this will become your #1 strat...

Once the guitar was set up properly by myself. i noticed that the guitar fret wire was sprouting out of the neck, this needed to be filed down, as the frets were sharp, and digging in to my hand. So the neck frets were not flush, and ideal for playing. Now that everything has been addressed properly by myself, the guitar is great now. Plays like a new guitar should play. I am glad that i didnt have to return the guitar back to Germany from Scotland, to fix the fret wire sprout, the wrong saddles, and a poor setup. The thing i dont understand is that there is a check list from dv247 musicstore to say the instrument has been checked. I think stevie wonder checked this guitar, as there was too many things wrong, and it should have been rectified at their shop or another guitar sent out, that was correct. So between Fenders Indonesia manufacturer, probably cort guitars, and dv247.com not checking the product, as well, that is two quality control processes failed, and makes dv247.com looking bad for quality checks on the guitars that have been sent out, very disappointed in the way online shops act. Happy now with the guitar, but i shouldnt have been the one working on a brand new guitar, rectifying any problens with the manufacturing and setup phase of these guitars, i've heard good news about these models, and thought that this guitar would be made properly and with some good quality, and quality control, only to be disappointed with the end result from fender squier, and dv247.com as well for not catching these errors

I love everything about this guitar! It looks awesome -- totally nailed the iconic 50's strat vibe. The neck looks and feels awesome, as does the Fiesta Red paint job and white pickguard. Everything pops! The pick-ups sound great too! I couldn't be happier with my purchase of this guitar. It's literally everything I wanted in a strat at less than half the cost for the word "Fender" on the headstock. My first strat was a Squier (1985) and it remains one of my most prized possessions. Now I have two Squier Strats and love 'em both! You can not go wrong with this guitar -- Total keeper!
I've owned this about three weeks, and I'm in love with it, hehe. Of course the white pick guard immediately went away. Yes I put a tortoise guard on it. A Fender 8 hole Strat guard hit every hole spot on. No plugging holes and redrilling. It dropped on perfectly. Loved the white blonde, but couldn't keep that snow white pickguard. The tortoise guard brings out the color of the blonde, and give a nice contrast. I highly recommend one. Anyway enough about the ugly white guard, haha. I have had and still have MANY guitars, including Strats I have owned and sold. This is the best sounding Strat I have ever owned. I dropped the pickups to just above the guard, and it has super sweet syrupy highs, and that nice trebly piano tone low strings. Just amazing. Neck profile is ... Neck profile is a nice fullish C, without being huge, nice middle of the road feel. Not too fat, and not too skinny. Fret ends aren't rounded custom shop finished, but no protrusion or jagged feeling. Neck finish is very nice with the vintage amber lacquer look. Body finish has a few little dips, but the light color makes them disappear , and none of them are on the front anyway. The tuners are very decent. It had an issue or two with the tuning, but graphite in the nut slots and it was a distant memory. It stays in tune for days! I do a LOT of bends, some of them extreme, and it goes right back... Overall though, if you're even somewhat interested in this model, GRAB one.. It's worth much more than the selling price, in quality and tone.
I created a self-build Fiesta Red Strat over 15 years ago based on an MIM body with a custom Fender neck and gold hardware. I built it with Hank Marvin Kinman pickups and wiring, and it has served me well in my Hank Tribute performances. Unfortunately, the body recently developed a serious crack at the neck joint which made it unplayable.I needed a replacement but did not want to pay many hundreds of £s, when I heard of the Squier 50s Classic Vibe. Much investigation and review fishing tempted me to purchase one from dv247.When it arrived I was very impressed with the finish and quality. The only changes I made involved changing the pickups and wiring to my Kinman set, and a good setup to my requirements, including bending the trem arm more and swapping the springs for a fully floating bridge. I put a set of 10-52 gauge strings on it at it sounded perfect. The stock pickups were great, but I needed the familiar sound I was used to.I gigged it three days later, and received many compliments with the look and sound. I normally swap to my other guitar on stage when finishing playing my Shadows instrumentals, but ended up playing this Squier most of the night. Perfection. Many thanks to Squier and dv247.
This is my first Strat and I can say I am not in the slightest disappointed by this purchase. I mainly compared this to the CV 70s model and after a great review I found, the sound and performance of the 50s convinced me of making this purchase. Music Store took great care in inspecting and testing the guitar and the set up was near perfect to my playing style. The guitar has a great sound and the playability is so easy that I believe a newbie like myself can really play this guitar without becoming frustrated.I can go on and on, but it is ultimately your choice if this guitar suits you.So, here's my take:Pros-1. Could not resist this guitar when I was able to test it out at the nice folks of PMT. Bought as a back-up, but after a little set-up it plays really well and is now my main go to guitar at home. Neck is super easy to play, frets are of good quality. I like the slight difference in tone quality between the 50s, 60s, and 70s versions of the current Squier CVs Strats, which I think is mainly due to a difference choice of body wood each time. The 50s pine body make this Strat sounds really authentic and clear, good for all sorts of styles. The pickups are excellent. I also like how the tone pots provide a very useful range of tones all throughout their range. There is some variation in weight, but this one is at the lighter range for a Strat and close to 7.0 lbs. A keeper !
This is a great guitar I have the 50's model. If you notice the other two choices, 60's & 70s are true to their period as well, addressing features of the specified decade. The 5o's model I have has a pine body-true to that era. The white is also a transparent white, or see through to the grain on the pine body, loving that. The white color isn't as shown on the GC web page. Neck has a vintage-tint gloss finish and looks great. The neck is a "C" which I prefer.Frets are quite smooth, though set up is individually subjective, it was fine for me on this model. Intonation seems spot-on, stays, and holds tune quite well and it has a bone nut even. The guitar comes w/the tremolo "decked". My other Strat's have the tremolo lifted a bit with that I prefer. May address lifting the tremolo t at some point. As the other reviewer stated, this model outshines other MM and USA Stratocasters. How? I returned a 2016 American Fender Elite as it would go out of tune at the slightest touch of the tremolo. I put new strings on it, lubed the nut and bridge area, still would not hold tune. Even had locking tuners. And, the Noiseless IV pickups with the S1 switch sounded too noiseless. Taking all the quack and clarity away, IMHO. So glad I have the Squier, leaps and bounds over the American Fender Elite I tried. Not sure this part will print but notice how many MIM Fender Player models are for sale used on GC. Quite a staggering amount. Especially compared to the Squier model I have. Makes you wonder.Purchased mine used from GC, but in mint + out of the box shape, having to remove the pick-guard plastic even.Highly recommended, go try one in-store then get it.
wow got this 50's classic vibe in fiesta red with a nice case used. didn't look used at all.it had just gone on. paid less then half the price of new with the case. These are really great-sounding strats. I should know I've had about a dozen.as good as any american I have had including a Jeff Beck model.my 1 problem with this strat is the tiny neck. I also own a Squier infinity tele and even the neck on it is bigger.causes me to mis the high e and b strings on the 1st 2 frets.otherwise it is perfect and nothing needs changed IMHO. except for the neck this thing is like my American 50's reissue which I did many a gig with.
