Srixon 2023 Z-Star Golf Balls - Yellow
Three-piece ball for the skilled player. With our new patented “Fast Layer DG” core which is soft in the middle and becomes gradually harder the further you get towards the cover, the result is greater distance through less spin and higher ball speed with the driver. The Spin Skin coating on the cover has been developed to generate even more spin around the greens without impacting the soft feel. Compression: 92.

Bought this a few weeks ago and finally broke 90 last weekend after a long hiatus from the game. Have used Z-Stars in years past with good results. Always seem to come back to them after trying the other big names out there. Great distance off the tee and excellent spin onto greens on approach shots with irons and wedges. Great feel off the putter as well. Will be my gamers for a long while. Hoping Srixon offers more of these value packs in the future.

Great all-around ball. Shot my 2 low rounds last year using this ball, so I bought more :)It has a great mix of characteristics between a distance ball and a premium ball. I tend to generate a lot of back spin on most shots, and this ball settles down my ball flight. It's workable but straighter than a ball like the ProV1. It's more a drop and stop ball compared to one that will back up 10-30 ft on the green like the ProV1. Also, it's more durable and doesn't get destroyed by my wedges in a few holes like the ProV1. Ball feel is good but not as nice as a ProV1. The combination works well for me and course I typically play.

I absolutely love the Z Star ball. It holds greens very well. I hit a 3 wood 215 yards to a par 3 green. The ball actually backed up a foot from the ball mark. Wedges will often back up from the pitch mark. Yet the ball springs off the driver. I used to play nothing but Pro V1's until I tried this ball. This ball is not much more durable than a Pro V1 but maybe a little. I only gave 3 stars because of the price. If they were $25.00 a dozen, I would give them 5 stars.

This is a great golf ball with the right amount of spin. I’m a higher speed (and therefore higher spin) player so my issue with many golf balls is that they spin too much when I hit full wedge shots into the green from from 85 to 125 yards. This ball is perfect and spins just the right amount. It will land, take one hop, and sit. I love this ball and am glad I tried it. This is my new gamer ball. For reference I am a 3 handicap and swing speed is 107mph.
My first time trying Srixon golf balls, after reading several great reviews. The Z-Star has a compression of 90, which is just a bit higher than the golf balls I have been using. My swing speed can handle the Z-Star but I found the feel a bit too firm for my taste. I am more comfortable with a softer feel golf ball, and will try the Srixon Q-Star or Q-Star Tour next, which have compression ratings of 75 and 70 respectively. Having said all that, I do recommend the Srixon Z-Star and think it will be a better fit for players with swing speeds in the upper 90s or low 100s.
I have been using Srixon balls exclusively for several years. Pro V1's are too expensive. I have used the QStars, ZStars, and XZ Stars. All three are great balls. I found the XZ Stars to be too hard for my swing speed and the QStars to be too soft. The ZStars explode off the tee and are soft into greens. Sometimes too soft. The greens here on Monticello are a bit on the soft side during dry spells and dart boards after rainfall. The high spin of the Srixons tend to draw back from the ball mark. Sometimes as much as ten feet if the green is sloped. This can be frustrating sometimes. The biggest draw back however, is the super thin and soft cover that is not very durable. Wasn’t sure what to expect from the Srixon Z-Star USA balls? Guess I assumed they were a special addition with maybe some USA marking on them? Other than the box promoting them as USA balls, the sleeves inside are just your run of the mill Z-Star sleeves. When I took a ball out to inspect closer it’s marked just like a regular Z-Star. The only thing that could be different is they appear to have a semi matte white cover. I’ve played colored matte finish balls and don’t much care for them, I prefer the traditional glossy white cover. I don’t know if these balls are supposed to have a matte cover or if they are seconds or defective or what, the marketing of them is confusing. I haven’t had a chance to play them to find out yet. I love the bridgestone RXS. However, I ordered the srixon z star xv during lockdown and had a play to compare. I found the srixon ball was really penetrating through the air it gave me about 5 meters more distance. The biggest thing is that even on the mishits this ball still went the distance it was suppose to. I find that the rxs on mishits looses about 10 meters. Overall I love the feel associated with the rxs which you don’t get in the z star xv. I am however happy with the longer distance, penetrating flight and same responsiveness around the green. I have chosen to stay with the z star xv. Srixon says that this ball is on the same level as the rxs. However I would not say that. This has been my go-to ball this season, and for this 4 hcp, performs as well as any premium offering out there, and costs $20 less a dozen. It's long off the tee (for my 98-102 mph driver swing speed), well-behaved in the wind, spins predictably on short irons and greenside, and feels soft off the putter. After 20 years and two kids, I'm playing and scoring as well as I ever have, and tied my personal best at my home course twice in the past two months. You can pay more, but I seriously doubt that you will get more. These are one of the best bargains in golf.
Earlier this year, I tested the new Srixon Z Star XV against the new Pro V1X on Trackman to choose my new gamer for the season. The Srixon Z Star XV checked all the boxes, giving me excellent spin/distance numbers with all clubs and a solid feel (Pro V1X was a hair softer but shorter). Yesterday was my first day on the course here in Colorado and the new ball did not disappoint. Trajectory was high off the driver with terrific distance (especially into the wind) and I made my first birdie of the year by reaching a tough par 5 in 2 shots. I have previously played earlier generations of the Z Star XV and the Taylor Made TP5X, but this ball is already my favorite of the bunch. The tour yellow color stands out in any conditions and is my personal choice. FYI, my driver ...
