Texture is creamy and thick but not greasy. The bottle size is large enough to last a good deal of time. I recently received this in the St. Ive’s voxbox, and was really excited cause this was one of the products I was hoping to receive. In addition to that, they sent me a hugeee bottle of it, thank you influenster and st. ives for hooking it up with an awesome lotion. So I definitely give this lotion 5 stars because it does it’s job. This lotion hydrates the skin very well without leaving your skin feeling greasy or slippery. This is a huge plus because I hate when my hands feel slippery and I can’t do things properly until wiping them. This was not an issue at all with this lotion. Back then I have dry legs wherein when I scratch a part of my leg, it would usually have dry skin flakes and white marks from scratching. I noticed the color of my skin tone slightly changed to a bright and healthy fair tone. Since I am an Asian, I had tried different lotions that would not let my skin burn under the sun since the weather in my country is always sunny and hot. Using this lotion helped me to lessen my burnt spots and re-rehabilitate what was once dark and dry. Lastly there is a BONUS EFFECT that this St. Ives Soothing Oatmeal and Shea Butter gives and made me love it even more. It makes your skin GLOW AND SHINE! LITERALLY (see the picture that has red circles). After a month of using it, I have proof from the picture that my legs sparkles and shines all the way through. I have researched and read that Shea Butter is used to whiten and moisturizes unwanted dark and rough spots. After a month of using it (and I am currently at the second week of october), I saw that my skin really does glow and shine as if there were glitters all over your body. Overall, I really really recommend the oatmeal and shea butter lotion since it gave me pretty great results. I also recommend to the first timers that you fully pump once and then apply to the designated spot on your body where you wish to be moisturized. Only one pump at a time for a body part. The scent is warm and rich, but not overpowering or too sugary. The lotion itself was light enough to be used as a hand cream and still provided moisture, it also worked well as a post-shave leg cream. It also seemed to soothe my skin after shaving if it was irritated and soothe my skin from mild allergic reactions. Unfortunately, my mother was able to smell this lotion on me from across the table which does not make it suitable for scent-free workplaces. She was also not a fan of the scent and said that it reminded her of the scent of an old lady! Another long-time customer disappointed with newer formulas

St. Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter used to be my go-to for everyday hand and body moisturizer. Because I have sensory issues, a lot of moisturizers feel distractingly greasy or sticky to me, but this one always felt soothingly moistening on application and absorbed impressively quickly and completely. Then, probably a few years ago, the formula changed once for the worse, and then again to something worse still. Why mess with a good thing? Just so you can slap "new!" on the bottle to go after more market share? To shave a few cents off manufacturing costs? Well, congrats, you ruined the best moisturizer out there, and here's one customer who's bailing, because this is NOT AT ALL the same product I used and loved.

Finally Found a Good Lotion = Discontinued

After years of searching for a lotion that was long-lasting and non-greasy, I stumbled upon St. Ives Soothing Oatmeal and Shea Butter body lotion by accident, having received a travel size in a gift bag. Finally, here was a lotion that did not leave my clothes a greasy mess and require reapplication multiple times a day. It smelled great and didn't break the bank.I use the past tense because, of course, St. Ives decided to discontinue this lotion. It's the same old story: you finally find a product that works and the company discontinues it, putting you right back where you started. Finally a good lotion, and of course gone too soon

I'm a rock climber and taking care of my hands is important; dry skin doesn't heal and so I need to keep my hands hydrated and healthy. For years I've struggled to find a lotion that I could use that would not make my hands super greasy or leave my skin as dry as I started. Finally about 7 years ago or so, I found the St. Ives Avocado based lotion which was actually perfect. It did both, perfect hydration without making my hands super greasy, but unfortunately it seems it was reformulated a few years back and never felt the same. My favorite lotion is now discontinued

Been using this product for many years. It is the my main daily lotion. The only time I use other lotions is when I cannot find this one in stores or when I use scented lotion that match the body spray. I am heart broken that my daily lotion is no longer available. I cannot seem to find the same feeling and moisture from others. Cannot believe there isn't a demand for this specific one. Really wish you can bring if back. Please pretty please

Not the same product, formula has changed

I've been using St. Ives products for several years. I suspect the formula changed at some point in addition to the updated packaging. The oatmeal and shea butter body wash has an underlying scent of vanilla that never used to be there and it is now extremely drying when it used to be the most moisturizing body wash I'd tried. The oatmeal and shea butter lotion is not near as moisturizing as it used to be and can't compensate for how drying the body wash is. I contacted the company, and all they could do was give me a coupon for a free product that would only continue to dry out my skin. I have since changed to Dove products which are not so drying.
