I consider this an essential piece of gear for cold days working on the trail. I first purchased one a week after forgetting to pack a spork one day. Now it's never a problem. I've started work on frosty ground and had very hot soup at lunch time - often 6+ hours after packing it. (I heat the contents to boiling and pre-heat the jar using boiling water). Now I'm buying more for my kids' sno-park lunches.I struggle with executive dysfunction and sometimes my Stanley gear doesn't get cleaned right away, but it ALWAYS comes clean without much hassle.

This is the all in for the accidentally lazy/forgetful people that pack their lunch just to leave it in their car all day, and want to try eating it again the next day. When I tell you I forgot my fruit in this jar on accident for almost two days in the summer IN MY CAR, and it was still frozen(!!) I was so impressed. I don’t write reviews on products really ever unless I’m blown away and it’s a really good investment. I drive for work, so I don’t get hot meals unless I pack a thermos, and I don’t get many breaks. this ones got enough room for a serving of mash potatoes and noodles, stew, chili w cornbread on top, you name it. I did lose the little cup thing that was on top but you don’t really need it.

I like the simplicity and ease of use a lot, I have a few Stanley products and love them. I was a little shocked after boiling water in the morning, to pre heat jar for soup at lunch, that my soup was warm but not as hot as I anticipated, it was still good and I will continue use it as it does enough for me. I did anticipate my soup being as hot as my coffee out of my Stanley classic vacuum bottle that will still burn my tounge in the afternoon which I love. Great product though I WOULD RECOMMEND to buy!
I purchased this at a local store several years ago. I love it! I don't take it backpacking, but I'll bring it along on winter dayhikes, snowshoeing, or nordic skiing. It's great to have a hot lunch available without having to cook it.I use it for work, too. I work in an office, but I prefer the way my steel-cut oats taste straight out of the pan over the way the taste re-heated in a microwave.I ticked "average" under the "Ease to Clean" question. The vessel is easy to clean because it's steel & there aren't a lot of nooks & crannies, but I find it requires more than just a quick rinse to get it clean.
This product is AWESOME! Although it is mainly used for food, I purchased this product to keep my insulin (vial) cold while traveling abroad. Very unconventional use but in the past when I travelled internationally, I struggled to keep my insulin cool. My ice pack would melt and I had to resort to ice and change every few hours. I literally flew 19 hours (including a 3 hour layover in France) and the ice was still solid and my insulin cold. This is my new travel companion as it takes the stress out of traveling with insulin and the need to keep it cold. No sweat or leakage from the container. I’m very impressed!
A Christmas gift for my grandson. Can't go wrong with Stanley food jar for that ramen-crazed youth in your family. :) He's an ultimate picky eater and wanted to take his fave food for lunch, instead of school food.
I bought 3 of these food jars a while back and used it at the park for cold hiking days, going camping and for my son to take his chili to school. Works perfect. No leaks, keeps your food hot for hours. We haven’t tested how long it stays hot as we haven’t had any long trips yet. But I highly recommend if you like hot soup, stews, chili etc.
This flask keeps food hotter than any other I've seen. I really appreciate that. Since I'm not a camper I could do without the spoon and ring on the side. The flask is a little wide to hold comfortably and a little narrow at the mouth for a man to stick in his hand to clean. For color I highly prefer the Hammertone green. My favorite Stanley food thermal flask is the 30-00924. It was 2 cups with a wide mouth and green. Although it doesn't keep the food hot as well as the one I'm reviewing, it is good enough for most occasions. My family use them 3 meals a day to keep the food to be hot for serving. My second favorite is the classic 2-cup food flask.
Will keep food hot for some time or cold if disired. being made of stainless steel, will not become toxic nor will it break if dropped. will last for a long time to come and small enough to go on an day hike or an camping trip. pitting an cosy around the container will keep food hot or cold for a longer amount of time. Overall, An exullent product.
