Stanley Dual Colour Quick Square 12in
Rafter squares measure and lay out straight, 45 deg angled and 90 deg angled lines. Also known as speed squares, their flanged edge sits against a workpiece edge to check whether materials are square and to anchor the tool when marking lines. The flanged edge also provides a pivot point to measure and mark a range of angles. Their diagonal leg assists with marking rafter, trim and stair angles. They are also used with plumb bobs when finding pitch on roof rafters and marking level lines along a plumb line.

First used this product as a simple guide for cross cuts with a circular saw, and later used to quickly gauge the square of raised garden benches. This square really impressed me with construction and quality. Made from heavy duty plastic, and the markings were well done and very visible. Definitely advantageous having it in the tool box.

I bought this inexpensive set because I'm a novice. I wasn't sure I'd use it a lot and thus I tried to save money over a quality metal set. It turns out this set is VERY useful and I used it so much! However, the bigger square is, critically, NOT square! The 90-degree angle is just a little off. The smaller square is fine.It surprised me because I would have thought these items would be injection-molded and therefore there'd be no room for errors. I wonder how many sets of these that have been made and sold are also not square. With hindsight, I should have bought a quality metal set.

This Stanley Sual Colored Quicksquare is the bee's knees! It does everything from measuring, leveling, and maintaining a straight line while measuring. I found this Quicksquare to be extremely accurate, very durable, and excellent at maintaining its color/printing after consistent and labored use! I do wish it came with a case or some way to make it easier to carry around with me. It is a very large tool, but I would still purchase it again (if I needed it, but these last forever). I highly recommend it for anyone seeking accurate and professional results!

I finally had the opportunity to use the Stanley Dual Color Quicksquare. I used it to frame up a bathroom in my garage. I found the Quicksquare easy to read and easy to use. All markings are clear and laid out in a sensible manner. I much prefer this to my former speed square. Highly recommended
This is a great tool for any beginner, intermediate or professional craftsman or DIYer. It is a great tool for stair stringer layout, trusses layout, or using any material six inches and bigger. This isn’t the ideal tool for your pouches due to size, but the bright color allows you to quickly identify it at your work station.
This is a good solid square but was not quite what I expected. It was all in inches and a bit larger and somewhat clunkier that I was looking for. I also didn't read the description too well so, as it wasn't metal, I took it back. I'd say it would do very well for others but didn't suit my uses. On the plus side the returns process and the staff at the Garret Lane Toolstation couldn't have been more helpful.
Never had one if these before, but wish i had got one sooner. Speeds up marking, measuring and angles alot. I checked my first measurements with a tape, but now i trust this square implicitly. Well made, clear markings and rhobust construction. Highly recommend
Light weight is my first impression! At first I doubted if the plastic construction can take all the abuse (this isn't a level with vails so I don't expect to handle it with as much care), but it turns out very sturdy after twists, drops, and bends. Of course I won't say it's as resistant to twists and bends as a steel one (and in fact, it's not too much less resistant at all), but I'd be willing to trade in the rigidity for like one third of the weight! The plastic molding appears to be the result of a very well-tuned process. No burrs, no sink marks, no flashes, etc can be felt. I can't even see any visible flow marks! This enormously helps with drawing lines with the square by removing the eye-balling part of marking matching.
The 12" Stanley square made of ABS plastic was totally fine. On the plus side, it is lighter weight and was square. The notches were easy to use and it worked fine for all of the things you expect out of a 12" square. My only complaint is that I prefer aluminum instead of the plastic. I found that after only a few uses I was seeing more damage on the square than previous, aluminum squares I have used. I was even damaging it in my home shop, so I would imagine it wouldn't hold up as well on a job site, especially if the plastic was regularly exposed to sunlight and cold and became brittle over time.
I like the fact that the markings are all molded in and not just printed on the surface and that they are definitely contrasting colors! I was even surprised that the accuracy was spot on when I did a flip test to check the square's accuracy. I also like the heft meaning it will stay in place, and all the clearly marked cues for using the different functions of the square - it was also a full 12" which makes marking any framing materials a piece of cake.
