This is the same helmet as the "regular" Boba helmet, only with a different outer top piece and just painted white. The "liner" piece even still has the dent in it.Mine arrived with a lens in it that has pretty bad visual distortion (my other Boba helmet has a great lens). Hasbro's "Customer Service" says they can't replace it, yet the helmet is still for sale here. They did offer me a refund.

This is another great quality & looking helmet. I had to get 1, to complete the full set. It looks excellent next to all the others. It makes a great collectors piece, or just a very cool toy. Zavvi service was good, delivery was as scheduled & it was the best price I could find. Have used them many times since

Granted we all assumed that the mold would be pretty much the same used for the Prototype that were used for the ESB helmet, but with the same "battle damage" on the lower portion of the helmet just painted over with white? I ranked this helmet highly because my son and I are enjoying it a lot. There are a few negatives that I was surprised by, given the cost. I was surprised by the battle damage from the standard Boba Fett helmet. It makes sense that they used the same mold for cost saving, but if they’d made a mold with no damage, they could have still reused it for Jango Fett.Since my four year old likes to play with it, I wish the sizing bands inside would stay at the size you set them at, instead of always opening back to the maximum extension.I also don’t have a large head (hat size 7 1/8) and I can’t get it all the way down so I’m looking through the visor. The look of this helmet is good, but the fit leaves much to be desired. The ratchet strap suspension inside is very flimsy and does not hold its setting. The mold also does not align with the viewport on the helmet when worn; even the loosest setting on the helmets suspension only allows you to look partially through the lower half of the visor. It’s clear this is a repurposed mold for the Boba Fett model, as there is a dent on the inside of the mold at the top which is hidden on the outside by a smooth generic cap on the top of the helmet. This cap also lacks the aged texture of the rest of the helmet.
There is a great possibility for customization of this helmet it does disassemble with a dozen or so screws for ease of painting, visor comes out with removal of 6 screws so even without disassembly you can paint it easily. However Hasbro cut some corners when they used the Boba Fett version of the helmet from Empire Strikes Back. The battle damage on the ESB version is more than just painting they altered the texture of the helmet to simulate pits and chips, that then translates to an unusual look on the all white helmet. Not sure how customizers can give the helmet a smooth look because of that, possibly with light sanding or some type of putty or filler?
I love prototype Boba Fett, and have a small collection of rarities dedicated to this awesome version of Boba Fett. But, this might be on of the most disappointing items I've gotten for the collection. It's all in the "battle damage" that appears in the center/surrounding part of the helmet. It's an obvious repaint of the normal Boba Fett helmet, and just screams laziness to me. The prototype version of the Boba Fett helmet is not supposed to have weathering or battle damage - it should be sleek and undamaged. I'm leaving three stars because from far away it looks decent, but close-up it's nothing great.
I love my helmet! The Hasbro black series is both screen accurate and a great value. I’m an extremely picky Star Wars fan and viewed YouTube reviews comparing this with more expensive replicas. My only issue is what others talk about with the mold of the original Boba helmet having the battle damage, which makes sense on his helmet, but not on this one. Otherwise, I love it!
Well, ..I’m not quite sure how to comment on this helmet. Is it cool? Totally! ..is it the ‘prototype’ helmet I was expecting? Hmm, not sure what to say. This helmet is simply a repaint of the black series Boba Fett helmet released a few months prior to this one. The scope lights up for novelty, but does not ‘work’ as a scope in any way. Looks awesome though.As anything Boba Fett is usually pretty cool, a white version of the helmet that resembles the original concept is a must have. The artwork and prototype images that I’ve seen, however, were a little less flared on the sides and stuff like that which is why I’m a little disappointed that this was just a repaint. But either way, it’s a must have if you collect anything Boba Fett!

It has a well realized interior that if you were a stickler for detail this would meet your demands. The Range finder attachment is quite easy to put on, though it will make battery replacement a bit of an issue as you will likely have to remove the rangefinder and over time you might start to create dents in the seams where the two parts join. The plastic is not hard ABS, it’s some other kind of plastic which I think is durable enough but might fatigue. Be careful.The visor is dark enough to where you can have your face obscured but can see out pretty clearly. There is a parallax to the visor so you will get some distortion. The rangefinder when dropped down lights up and alternates the red led’s. That’s actually quite nice to see. The inside of the range finder is different than advertised, as it is an etched piece of clear plastic and you will not see it very well from inside the helmet due to the curve in the visor plastic. It is the same effect you get with certain sunglasses and safety goggles. Curves tend to create distortion. Not so bad that you can’t see, just a bit too much to make viewing the rangefinder clearer.The lines of it are nice and crisp, the seams are well hidden on the rangefinder side. You can see two really thin holes if you look for them and if you are joining a cosplay group, they might want you to make that seam less noticeable.The bad of this product is that it was not made for people who have a giant head. I am one of those people whose head is larger than normal due to the fact that my brain is very large and full of wrinkly goodness. That being said, the adjustment band in the helmet made wearing it impossible to see out of. Fortunately the adjustment band comes out easily. The helmet will also fog up pretty fast if you don’t treat the lens with anti-fogging spray, or have a way of moving air through the helmet with a fan.The ugly of the product is that this is not a brand new sculpt. The dent from the previous Boba Fett helmet had been filled in, but the chipped paint pattern is still on the face and back of the helmet. Which means if you are joining up with a Mando Group, you will probably have to fill in those little paint chips. Other than that, there is really nothing bad with this product. As a toy sculptor I do understand a need to get product to market fast enough to make money. What I don’t understand is how on the interior of the helmet if all they changed was the dome, there is still the dent on the inside from the old mold.From my perspective if you are remaking the upper half of the helmet, you can take the dent out of the inside instead of simply filling the holes on the outside. That is my only real complaint about it.
