The first thing I noticed, was the weight of the Child. It felt like that of a real baby. It is cuddly, well made. The hand has an area to squeeze for ābabblingā sounds the Child made. The sounds are great, not too loud or offensive. The Child fits well in his carrier & I feel the carrier & child are pretty well in proportion to one another. Not perfect, but well done for a toy in this market. The only tip, slight criticism... is you need to place the carrier on your child first, then the doll. Otherwise, the doll just falls out. But, once youāve put the doll in, this way, it seemed to stay really well. We went outside & had a great adventure with the doll. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you!As for The Child himself, he is just as pictured. He has a firm rubbery type of head, with a stuffed/plush body. He is just the cutest and will be an awesome b-day gift for the granddaughter.When you squeeze his hand, he does make a variety of baby-ish noises, which again will be great for the gift recipiant.The bag he sits in is a heavyweight material, like canvas duck. It is sturdy and should last a long time (barring the dog getting ahold of it).I'd defintely recommend it, or even purchase it again!

I noticed that several of the 5 star reviews received the product for free. Well, I bought mine. $40. For my 10 year old with ID who LOVES Grogu. He has grown very attached to this toy. Kisses it. Tells it he loves it. Talks with it. But Grogu stopped talking back after less than a month. Turns out, the batteries aren't accessible. Ended up finding a video showing how to take the doll apart, so we did so and changed the batteries. But it wasn't the batteries. It's just broken.My 10 year old disabled child is devastated and doesn't understand why his friend won't talk to him any more. I contacted Mattel and they wanted me to send it back. Send back my child's best friend. This was available at all the Walmartās near me but due to the pandemic I never ordered it for instore pick up to have it sooner and just played it out to see how long it would take to receive.The item itself is adorable Iād give it a solid 5 stars in appearance alone. He's so cute! I got him for my 11 month old who's first birthday will be Grogu themed. Came nicely packaged in an official Mattel box aside from the package the doll is attached to.I watched a video review on another site after ordering and was a bit disappointed that he seemed to only make generic baby sounds but the one I got actually makes cute sounds from the actual show. Only con is the batteries are not replaceable unless you cut him open I suppose but hopefully they're meant to last.
I received a very very dirty item. The dolls head was scuffed up and had black dirt all over it and on the box. This seller really dropped the ball. The doll looked like it was dragged all over the warehouse floor, how could they sell this for a child to play with? Just disgusting. Walmart did make it right but the experience was very disappointing. I will not purchase from this seller in the future.
My grandson got this adorable gift for Christmas, and didnāt play with it much (more of an addition to his bed favorites). Tried making it ātalkā today and apparently the batteries are dead.YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE BATTERIES?! How ridiculous is this- not much fun for my grandson without the voice. TOTAL PRODUCT FAIL MATTEL :( I would have thought better of this toy, having your brand name. Especially for a $40 price tag!!
Hey Walmart, the ITEM is wonderful, but the delivery was NOT. "The Child" doll was supposed to be delivered on Saturday. We had a water leak emergency on the day before, Friday, so didn't see the notification that it would be delivered early, on that day instead. So, midday I look out, and there is "The Child" on the outer edge of our front porch, facing out, appearing to be waving at everyone! No box, no Walmart bag, no plastic wrap on the doll, not close to our door, just there in all its cuteness for anyone to steal/kidnap just like in "The Mandalorian"! We're so lucky that didn't happen. In your commercials you show delivery in nice Walmart bags--please use them at all times and put items in a safe place. This was really bad!
Comes complete with a lovely satchel so he can be carried around as per in the series, infact he gets carried everywhere in the bag! He has several very cool sounds - squeeze his hand to get the noises. His face is really realistic, it is made from plastic which helps with the realistic appearance and also makes his face easy to wipe clean - important after he's been carried about while being played with! The hands are soft plush like his body, and he's very cuddly! He has posable legs so he can sit down, or stand up. Great size to carry around. Wonderful toy, but could also be enjoyed by a grown up too.
Just received this and taking note of comments about the short battery life. As of now it is a big hit. Eight year old girl absolutely delighted with gift. Could not have given her anything that would have been better as she loves The Child. Also, the sale price was just right.
