Generally, a clicker is a clicker. But I do like the clickers that have a button like this for anyone who has hand mobility issues, or for people just beginning with clicker training as it is often easier to get precise timing with a button instead of the standard box clickers. I do prefer the Click-R by petsafe for the elastic finger loop on the back, but I coulnd't find that one to review on here. I own 3 of this starmark clickers (I'm a dog walker and trainer,) and I do like how this one feels in my hand, but I find it can slip out of place somewhat easily in larger hands, and I wish it came with a wrist strap. But i do appreciate that there is a hole in it so that you can add a strap to it yourself or put it on a keychain (which I prefer.)Quick PSA: Clicker ... MoreGenerally, a clicker is a clicker. Dominance theory (like caesar millan preaches) was debunked and disproven in the 90's and is super harmful and just wrong. If you own a dog, or want one, you owe it to yourself, your pet or future pet to treat them well and keep yourself updated on current training techniques weather that be positive reinforcement (what i believe is best for most cases) or balanced training (for more difficult cases.)

When I first adopted Mylo, this clicker was EVERYTHING. I actually have about 5 of these scattered around my apartment for impromptu clicker training. This device made it easy to train Mylo right away, and it was also easy to transition OUT of using it. He doesn't ALWAYS need the clicker, but he definitely associates positive rewards with the sound of one. :) I'd recommend it for puppy owners putting their dogs through training!

This clicker came relatively quickly and I'm very pleased with it for the price. The click is loud and clear and the button is easy to press. Very lightweight. Even has a little loop at the bottom so you can attach it to a lanyard or keychain. My only complaint is how this seems fragile (it's made out of plastic) and could easily get broken. Other than that it's a good product for a good price.
I got this as a replacement when I mislaid my old clicker--same brand, same appearance--that I'd been using to call my cat in from outdoors--in case he's a couple of blocks away. Unfortunately, this new one was not as loud as the old one--I need it to be loud! I even dissected it to find out why; the indentations on the piece of metal inside are shallower. (The happy part is, I found my old one a week later and just use this one as a backup.) I would hesitate to say this clicker's not good quality, because it may be that for some people who are training a dog to roll over, louder may not be better--I do hold my old one away from my ears. The new one does click reliably, even after I dissected and reassembled it, so if you don't need LOUD, go for it.
I have two 3 month old Mini Schnauzer puppies. As soon as I got the clicker and some training treats I used the clicker. Right away it was working with the puppies. The female was especially hard to get to come to me. She learned right away what the clicker meant. I am definitely using this as a continued training tool. It is very well made and the sound is loud and clear.
This thing is great for non-dog issues. Helps to keep husband awake after taking medicines that make him drowsy.
I have three rescued dogs which are on electric fence and learn very quickly. This clicker has helped me train two of my older dogs in some special commands. It hasn't taken any longer, and sometimes shorter training repetitions than the instruction and videos demonstrate. My third dog showed stress in using the clicker,as it is loud, but I still use the training techniques on him. Item and website are useful tools. I'm glad I found this product.
By simply clicking, it gets my pup's attention when I am training. A small puppy does not have more than a couple of seconds attention span but this draws him to you and he listens to you. Already he has learned to sit and stay and down in just a few days. Quick learner, yes, but the clicker certainly helps.
I purchased this item to help with the training of my new kitten. He knows what the clicker sound means. We'll see how it goes.
