StarTech 6 ft (1.8 M) USB C to DisplayPort 1.4 Cable - 8K - HBR3

I needed to connect my work laptop to my monitor at home, and needed a USB-C to display port cable. This one did the trick nicely. Running a resolution of 5120x1440 without an issue. Very happy.

Works wonder from my laptop USBC-DP to my new 34" Ultra Wide Curve 144MHz Gaming monitor with DP input. Better performance than HDMI to HDMI.

If you want DP 1.4 USB-C to DP cable for your monitor and fancy laptop, get this. Best to validate online that this cable will work as expected for your setup, as the PB Tech salespeople are clueless, and it's an expensive cable to buy if you don't need it. I have used these cables daily for my personal and work setups for more than two years now and they have worked perfectly. Why a piece of shielded copper is so expensive is beyond me, though.

Since PB Tech couldn't answer my pre-sale question I brought this cable to test.I have two Dell U2417H monitors with DisplayPort MST compatibility. (I.e DisplayPort in and out Connectors)Enabling Display Port MST on one monitor means I can pass the display port signal across to the 2nd monitor. However the laptop (ASUS G14) can use more than 100W that is the current maximum from the docking stations, so for the number of times I take away the laptop its not an issue for me for better performance, and saving quite a bit of money on a docking station.

Product does not work on Macbook Pro 16" 2019. Straight from StarTech support:Brandon: This particular cable has been tested on the 16" and confirmed not to work at this time, so we do recommend returning this to the seller for a refund.Brandon: but we do have a confirmed adapter working on the 16", which can be used with a DP1.4 cable. Parts CDP2DP14UCPB+ DP14MM2M would be a comparable option to the CDP2DP146B.So if you are looking for USBC->DP1.4 which can handle higher refresh rates then your only option from StarTech is CDP2DP14UCPB

Pros: It does what it says on the tin, which is to convert a Display Port connection to USB-C.Cons: The cable is too long and is unreliable at providing a stable display signal. I constantly get flickering using this cable alone.
