Great product but didn’t fit my desk situation. Hated to send it back but it was either send it back or by a new desk.

I added this shelf to my IKEA sit/stand desk and I wish I knew about this product long ago. It blends in perfectly and is very sturdy. Its purpose is to elevate my desk phone, stabler, tape, etc. All those small items that clutter up a table top. I can then use the cavity below to store larger items and keep them out of the way also.
This is a unit. I've had this baby slapped to my desk for over a month with my monitor arm attached to it and it hasn't shown any signs of weakness. I move my monitor all over the place on a daily basis, but I still haven't even had to retighten the clamps to my desk. This monster is 100% beefsauce and takes 2mins to assemble. tl;dr Really nice having the second tier and a place to slide the keyboard. 10/10 would buy again.
This is as simple and sturdy as it looks. Four small bolts attach the clamp/strut pieces to the solid shelf via tee nut (the threaded inserts that keep bolts from tearing out of mdf/hdf boards). The Allen wrench is included in the packaging as well. It was unboxed and set-up in a few minutes ready to hold the 27” iMac and some other gadgets. No wiggle. No sliding.
This is currently holding my laptop and my dual monitor stand with two 24 inch monitors on it (as well as a couple of papers and a pack of gum) It's very sturdy, like VERY sturdy and the clamps take up almost no space beyond the edge of the desk (mine is a glass desk. The clamps do take a little more than 2 inches under the desk though so if you have a shallow desktop before the crossbar these probably won't work. I highly recommend this if you're looking to add more deskspace and/or raise your monitors.
