Despite ubeaut finned box there is no connection (heatwise) between m2 and case. Case runs hot, m2 must be boiling.Also product is spec'ed at 1000MB/s but m2 are spec'ed at cica 3500 MB/s. USB-C is well able to support this.

i used this with Crucial P5 Plus 2TB NVME Drive. Installed it properly and correcly and once i connect to my system. The drive detection is very slow. Windows Explorer takes like 5 minutes to load the Drive icon. I did requested an RMA and the new drive came. Tested and it is still the same.However, i tested this drive with samsung 970 Evo NVME and it works perfectly. however most of my nvme drive are from Crucial so unfortunately this drive enclosure is causing me some issues.StarTech support. Please try and test this product with Crucial P5 plus series NVME. you will encounter some weird behaviour compared to functioning nvme brands like Samsung or Kingston.
Easy to install NVMEe M.2 SSD Computer read disk and was easy to format.
I am using this product to mirror the hard drive on my laptop. It works great.

I've tried both models of the reader, standard and the NVMe model, neither one read or would allow access to my M.2 drive. I was able to get my test computer to boot off of it without issue but the StarTech readers could not access it. Maybe because it was a Win 10 OS drive out of a HP laptop. I wound up putting the M.2 drive in my test machine and got the data needed off of it and removed it. I'll try other drives down the road but for now this was quite disappointing. Did not bother with support. I'm an IT pro and there isn't much you can do with these. Most companies support isn't very good any way.
Hi I love this device easier then my other one, i have to onplug all the screws reyput in and take out just alot lost timeThis one is easy plug in - one plastic screw cover to hold i was able to get data off right away, love this product saves me valuable time at work.
I tested with 4 brand of M.2 SSD and the product is really bad, it keep disconnecting or only work at low speed such as 4 MB/Sec. I would not recommend
