Amazing pan, horrible customer service

I love this pan. It was well worth the wait - which was many weeks due to a breakdown in WS customer service. I was using a key reward that was apparently input incorrectly by the rep and the order wasn’t put through. It took 4 calls with a series of mishaps to get the order through. So I didn’t have my pan for Christmas frittatas but there have been many wonderful frittatas since. The pan conducts heat so well that it is perfect for searing chops or a steak. It cleans up well. If something is sticking, just heat some water with a bit of baking soda and it loosens it up. You can find cheaper imitations but their finish will chip easily.

I have long cooked with my Grandfather's old cast iron skillets but they have't seen the light of day since I started cooking with my Staub enameled fry pan. Game changer for me. It's not that it is the perfect non- stick pan but what does stick is easily cleaned with a few sprays of Dawn Powerwash. All the cooking benefits of cast iron combined with traditional clean-up. This pan never leaves the stove top. Follow the instructions and pass this one on to your kids..........or grandkids.

I got the 30 cm frying pan. After following the seasoning process and using the pan for the first time, there was a black stain in the middle of the pan that remained. This is not normal so I called the retailer where I purchased it and they told me that I need to deal with the Stuab directly, which I did. After sending them a photo of the stain, I was told that in fact this is not normal and was asked to send them the pan for inspection and replacement. However, the shipping costs are at my own expense. Why would I ship a pan that weighs so much? it will cost me more to ship it than just go out and buy a new one? Anyhow after fighting with them back and forth customer service (Zwilling) refused to cover my shipping costs, I called the retailer where I purchased it ... MoreI got the 30 cm frying pan. Essential Skillet
22 January 2024

I didn’t think I needed an iron skillet until my son began making his signature chili on football Saturdays and my contribution was cornbread. Sure, I made it in the baking pan and it was good. But not great. What would make it great? A cast iron skillet! This skillet gets heated in advance and when the cornbread batter gets poured in, it sizzles and gets crispy, just like it’s supposed to. The finished cornbread was baked to perfection! No worries about seasoning the skillet. I just oiled it and it was good to go. And afterwards, the skillet wasn’t even hard to clean. When I want a nice, even heat, and need to move from stovetop to oven, like with a frittata, my go-to is my new, Staub cast iron skillet.

Get a bad pan? They'll send another bad one
5 July 2024

I received a fry pan that was new, but had a noticeable "nick" in the actual fry area, which I was afraid would get worse over time. Returned it to WS, and they sent me another quality-reject as the replacement in an opened product box. I know it was a quality reject because it had a literal "black Friday" UPC type sticker on the bottom, and the color-enameling was noticeably poorer quality in the replacement than the original, with lots of black showing through the red coloring in the "staub" lettering and other areas.Basically, if you get a bad product the first time, Williams Sonoma will just send you another person's return or an item that failed normal quality standards. Not shopping here again with that kind of "service".

Great quality frying pan!

I absolutely love the color of this pan! I also really like that it isn’t as heavy as I was expecting it would be. It’s got weight but not to where moving it around the kitchen it’d be a hassle. I really enjoy how easy it is to clean it up after using it and that I don’t have re-season it as a regular cast iron without the enamel coating would need. I love that it is a product that will last a lifetime and I also love the tips on the social media accounts on how to clean or do other things with the product you chose.

Great tool and beautiful to boot.
31 December 2023

My husband bought this for Christmas so we could get back to cooking with cast iron. We had stopped previously due to the workload at our jobs and the time sink maintenance can be.I love it! We have a Sapphire Blue Oval Dutch oven and he surprised me with the La Mer. It's a stunning deep teal. Better than that though, it cooks beautifully. My potatoes lyonnaise were scrumptious and the sear my husband put on a ribeye was perfect.

I'm not sure what this pan should be used for
23 January 2024

My wife and I were looking for a low-maintenance alternative to cast iron pans. We liked that this was enameled and read some guides about how to use the pan to ensure that it heats properly and that food does not stick. It seemed slightly tedious (always add fat before heating, heat the pan for a few minutes prior to adding food, etc.), though doable. We followed the correct process and the care instructions, including avoiding any abrasives. However, we were sorely disappointed that food seemed to stick very easily to this pan. A standard cast iron performs much better, in our experience, and you can scrub it. The only purpose that I can think of for this pan is to cook acidic food that should not be cooked in cast iron. And we don't need a pan just for that.

The LUXURY of STAUB
20 May 2024

A BEAUTIFUL Cherry Red exterior with a Black interior, and it has two pour spouts as well. A gorgeous Skillet. It's my new favorite cookware. I LOVE IT!Yes, I'm kind of bragging to my friends about my new STAUB pan! Who wouldn't! It's FABULOUS! You need to get you one too! Get it while the sale is still on! You can't beat it! :^)

Wish I Bought This Brand Years Ago
16 February 2023

I love my new Staub cookware. I bought 3 pieces, two with big heavy lids that are amazing. I plan to buy more as needed. They hold an even heat for as long as needed. The largest Dutch oven with the basting dots on the underside of the lid is a miracle pot. I like to cook and freeze batches of Indian vegetable dishes for my elderly parents. I work on them all day with that giant pot, using only the bottom 1/4-1/3 of it. The lid goes on and off depending on how tender the vegetables are getting. The oil, the spices, the liquids go in but don't splatter out because of the huge size of the thing. They reduce and brown up beautifully. This thing weighs a ton but I'm getting conditioned using it often. I get out of bed every morning looking forward to cooking in these pots.
