Many Germans know the Valencian paella from their holidays in Spain, where the diverse rice dishes are offered in many restaurants. With the Staub frying pan, you can easily recreate paellas and numerous other dishes from Mediterranean cuisine at home. The black pan is inspired by the shape of the classic paellera, the Spanish paella pan, which has a very large diameter and a relatively shallow edge. This allows you to prepare paellas, as well as vegetable or pasta dishes that need to be evenly heated over a large surface. While the rice is cooking, it should not be stirred. The frying pan with two handles has a diameter of 34 cm and is suitable for all types of cooktops. The cast iron paella pan retains heat very well and slowly transfers it to the food being cooked. In classic black, you can serve a Mediterranean dish directly on the table and combine it just as well with modern tableware as with stoneware. This product helps you create something delicious with joy. With the Staub frying pan, you bring vacation feelings directly to your table and add a versatile pan to your cookware, allowing you to recreate your favorite recipes authentically. It enables searing and crisp frying, perfect juicy and tender roasting, and braising of meat, fish, and vegetable dishes. Ideal for further cooking in the oven, suitable for all types of cooktops including induction, and can also be used in the oven or on the grill.

Perfect Paella pan! The cast iron is perfect for searing shellfish, and rice. Finishing it off in the oven creates a nice crispy rice crust which is a delicacy in our home! Double handles, makes for easy transport, and the Graphite Grey makes for a fantastic serving piece. However, if you have a house filled with kids, and you want to make a ton of silver dollar pancakes, this is the pan for you. Large surface size, with the benefits of cast iron heating and browning, makes the pan more versatile than your typical stainless steel Paella pan. Love having one pan that can be put to so many different uses.

I love this pan! I love anything Staub, but I particularly like the floor size of this pan combined with the double handles, which make it so incredibly easy to maneuver. I will be using this every day.I just received this pan and used it for french toast, which came out perfect. I started it on low while I gathered the ingredients, boosted the heat to medium-low, added a little butter, and fit three pieces at a time. Clean-up was a drop of Dawn, a little warm water and a few swishes of my cloth. Had it been burgers or after browning something, I would have heated the soapy water a few minutes or maybe just let it soak a little, and then basically the same swiping. It behaves like my other Staub fry pans, which I love, but with the double handles it feels/handles ... MoreI love this pan! It behaves like my other Staub fry pans, which I love, but with the double handles it feels/handles like a nimble race car compared to the long handled pans. I couldn't believe that it is actually about 2 oz. heavier than my long handled 10" Staub. Plus, the floor of this pan is sized between my 10" and 12" fry pans. It's a perfect size for so much of what I cook these days. Looks like my daughter will finally get my long handled 10" Staub. This 10" paella pan does not have the flared sides of the 15.5" pan, which I also have. The larger pan performs well too although I don't have occasion to use it as often as when my children were home. I don't make paella, but both pans work well for burgers, chicken, eggs, etc.In fact, the only thing I don't like about this pan is the name. I feel it is limiting. This is a fantastic all purpose pan, but how many people will slide their eyes right past this offering because it is called a paella pan rather than a "fry pan" or "double handled pan" or "incredibly versatile pan"? If I could only have two pans (heaven forbid!), this and a sauce pan would do it for me.

I am a huge fan of Staub. I slowly replaced all my cookware and bakeware with enameled cast iron. I started with le Creuset which are great products but have a preference for Staub. I now mostly cook with cast iron. It's expensive and heavy but so worth it. This 15.5" pan is great and very versatile. I used it to fry sole filets, saute vegetables, schnitzels and make delicious sticky pepper steak (with rice made in the petite French oven). I plan to make donuts soon. Love that it goes from stove to oven and that it's super easy to clean.

Excellent Paella Pan
10 November 2015

I have been cooking Paellas for 25 years, my signature dish. The first one I made in this pan was superb. My gas cooktop is inadequate for this monster pan and I used a large outdoor camping propane cooker. First I sautéed sliced pieces of boneless skinless chicken thighs in olive oil and they stuck to the pan. This turned out not to be an issue as I scraped off the residue with a sharp plastic spatula and continued with the process. (I was worried it would burn and ruin the Socarrat). The thick cast iron bottom of this pan distributes the heat incredibly well and once the liquid was added and came to a boil the paella bubbled along in a very uniform fashion. The Socarrat came out perfect and the pan looks great on the table! Clean up was a breeze. Next my wife made ... MoreI have been cooking Paellas for 25 years, my signature dish. Next my wife made a double batch of gorgonzola scalloped potatoes in the oven that we served with deep-fried turkey. They came out perfect, actually the best ever, and again cleanup was a breeze. I am very happy with my Staub paella pan.

Lovely, useful pan with obvious flaws
18 October 2021

I purchased this from a recent visual imperfections sale. The color is lovely, and the price was great. The cooking surface is very nice. Two very visible imperfections, one an enameled over dent on the outside side of the pan and the second a spot of missing red color at the rim, probably where the pot sat on the rack while it was being enameled. Neither will interfere with cooking but I do wish they were less visible, especially the spot with missing color. This is my fourth visual imperfections purchase, and definitely the one with the most noticeable flaws. I will try to forget them and just enjoy using it!

Perfection in a pan
29 October 2020

This pan is a beautiful creation. It is large enough to fit four chicken breasts or steaks, or whatever you choose, without any crowding. The heat distributes nicely and the cleanup is easy. I love the handles that don't get in the way of anything else and allow it to go in the oven easily. I am excited to use it all the time and happy that I treated myself to this special gift. Thank you to Staub for their attention to detail and also for the beautiful packaging. Also thank you to ZWILLING for offering it a great price.

Spectacular Pan!
11 January 2019

I've used my 15 inch paella pan for about a year now and absolutely LOVE it. The cooking surface is huge and heats evenly. My favorite use is covering the pan with disks of king oyster mushrooms and searing them, then tossing in garlic, cooked pasta, asparagus pieces, season then bring to table. This pan holds heat and looks great on the table too. I occasionally use Bar Keepers Friend to remove foggy cooking marks on the inside, consequently, it still looks new. The only down side is this is a BIG pan and takes up a lot of storage space, our solution was to hang it on the wall. I love all my Staub pots and pans but this is at the top of my favorites list.
