Staub Fry Pan Black Matte 12

I recently took advantage of CC‘s legendary coated frypan trade-in event, and was so happy to be able to buy this 26-cm matte black frypan, which is part of the same collection as my 30-cm Staub grill pan, purchased earlier from CC on strong recommendation from America’s Test Kitchen review program. I know, after a bit more use/seasoning, this 26-cm frypan will be another go-to of mine. Thanks Jed and co. for hosting this trade-in event year after year!

A joy to useIn have owned a couple of Le Creuset Dutch ovens for thirty years. They are very good but 13 years ago my wife bought me my first Staub on the recommendation of one of the sales people at E Dehellerin in Paris. Beautiful browning, light and quick to heat

An excellent pan and a big upgrade from my no-name enameled pans. Lighter, heats quickly and evenly and give great results. The French toast I made had magazine worthy browning with no blotchiness. Not inexpensive, but high quality. My only minor issue is the handle is set a little low so you have to be aware of where your knuckles are when grabbing it.

Best pan I have ever used!

This pan heats very evenly (determined by flour test), retains heat incredibly well, sears evenly and releases well even with no micro-seasoning layer, is easy to clean, and is an all-around joy to use. The basil color is absolutely stunning and is very true-to-photo. The bottom is very smooth which makes it move around a bit on the burner, just hold the handle with an oven mitt to prevent the slipping around. I only want to use this line of products in my kitchen from now on!With that, there is a caveat: it took a long while to process my order and ship it out. 17 days to be precise. It only took 1 day to ship since I am very close to the origin of shipping, however, it could take up to 5-7 business days on top on that with standard shipping. Did I think I would ... MoreThis pan heats very evenly (determined by flour test), retains heat incredibly well, sears evenly and releases well even with no micro-seasoning layer, is easy to clean, and is an all-around joy to use. Do not buy! Worse customer service

I got the 30 cm frying pan. After following the seasoning process and using the pan for the first time, there was a black stain in the middle of the pan that remained. This is not normal so I called the retailer where I purchased it and they told me that I need to deal with the Stuab directly, which I did. After sending them a photo of the stain, I was told that in fact this is not normal and was asked to send them the pan for inspection and replacement. However, the shipping costs are at my own expense. Why would I ship a pan that weighs so much? it will cost me more to ship it than just go out and buy a new one? Anyhow after fighting with them back and forth customer service (Zwilling) refused to cover my shipping costs, I called the retailer where I purchased it ... MoreI got the 30 cm frying pan. BTW the retailer has also told me that they have been having issues with many Staub products and have decided to stop selling the line..

Great Pan

This pan is well worth the cost. Sturdy and well built. I have used multiple times and it work so well. I have a gas stove and works very on the burner and in the oven. I also use it out on my BBQ and functions beyond expectation. Easy to clean. The colour is outstanding. Great product.

Obsessed, but also confused

I received my 10” Staub pan today and want to love it. Compared to my other cast iron skillet, this is chic and smooth and looks like it could be a great addition to my kitchen. But is it supposed to look this way? There is a hazy white film in the center of the interior of this pan, with little white speckles throughout. This is my first Staub enameled cast iron pan, so I don’t know what to expect. Are the white specs meant to be there?

One of my favorite quarantine purchases!

This pan is a workhorse. I was nervous that the 10 inch would be too small for my needs, but have been pleasantly surprised. Great for cooking steak for myself and my boyfriend (with leftovers) or skillet roasted potatoes for a dinner party with another couple.I always cooked using a cast iron pan with my mother growing up, but this is my first of my own. The grenadine color is so so lovely, especially in person. Using the pan feels like a luxury. I did subtract one star because keeping the finish perfect requires a certain level of care. Mine has a very small scratch on the bottom from normal use. I know this won’t bother most, but if you are a perfectionist, like myself, this is something to consider. That being said, I would purchase this item again!

So Happy with my Staub 10-inch Skillet

So far, I've baked two dishes in my newly purchased Staub cast iron skillet with amazing results. My only regret is not having owned a cast iron skillet earlier. My last baking adventure was baking an apple tart. The crust was to die for. I was able to transfer an apple tart leftover to a pie dish for storing with no issue except where some of the tart juices had spilled over while baking. I've included a picture of the bottom of the Staub skillet noting the two tone coloring which intrigued me. My guess on this is that the lighter shade of coloring is where the bottom of an enamel cast iron cookware is mostly to show wear and tear. The lighter shade would make it less noticeable. I also have a collection of LC Dutch ovens but did not have a cast iron skillet. The ... MoreSo far, I've baked two dishes in my newly purchased Staub cast iron skillet with amazing results. The special sale price, the lifetime warranty, and the slightly deeper dimension (1/2 inch difference) over the LC 10-inch skillet are the reasons why I went with Staub.
