The Razer BlackShark V2 wireless headset is a good gaming headset for PC. It's lightweight with comfortable fitting earmuffs, excellent sound quality for gaming and listening to music, and decent overall construction despite it's relatively low weight. It comes with everything you need including a charger, a wireless USB adapter, a detachable microphone, and a fabric bag to store everything in. The controls are simple and function well. My only complaint is that the adjustment sliders seem oddly designed, like you're moving the earmuffs up and down on paperclips instead of a solid plastic or metal slider. So far that hasn't caused any functional problems, but it's evident that it's a rather fragile part of the whole package, so you'll want to avoid droping them on ... MoreThe Razer BlackShark V2 wireless headset is a good gaming headset for PC. Most of the money seems to have gone into the speakers, which do provide exceptionally high quality audio, but nothing that isn't comparable to other gaming headsets within this price range, so shop around before you pull the trigger on these.Overall, I would recommend this headset to PC gamers who enjoy long gaming sessions and have a dedicated space to store this headset, as it probably won't fare very well just being tossed around haphazardly. I think there are other headsets with better build quality and comparable audio quality within the price range, but that better build quality often manifests as additional weight, so if you really want a comfortable, lightweight headset that provides exceptionally good audio quality, I would recommend this headset.

I highly recommend them!

Ollie's review of STEELSERIES Arctis 1 7.1 PlayStation Gaming Headset - Black
3 December 2022

Pros: Good quality build, pretty good sound. Ability to switch the mic off or remove it completely. On headset volume control. Price (£20 when purchased)Cons: Cable seems short. It's quite a small headband, probably suited for 10-16 Yr olds (it's a good fit for my 13yr old). Good that mic can be removed but this makes it easy to lose. Usual price is high (£40). Difference in quality between this and the Arctus 3 is noticeable and the 3 is bigger for adults

Pretty good, but…
8 June 2023

The sound out of this headset is very good, especially for spatial awareness playing online and it’s helped me massively to hear things around me as I play War Thunder. Connecting it the Xbox was easy, just use the supplied USB with the Bluetooth thing. But, I’d I was able to try it on before buying it, then I wouldn’t have likely bought it. There’s no real padding to cushion your ears, as it’s just a thing fabric between your ears and the headset and after a while my ears get sore. There is cushioning around your ears, but even it’s a little on the small side.In future I’ll get the Arctic Nova 7X and pass this down to my son.Overall it’s pretty good, but not great and even though you get what you pay for, this headset can be a lot better.

Solid headphones (review from an actual gamer)

Solid headphones with good audio. I play games like valorant and escape from tarkov and I usually find myself hearing sounds my friends don’t hear. The software has a lot of customization and they are always adding new features to the software such as sonar or performance sound. The only downsides to these headphones is the ear cups are made of fabric that captures smells. Also, you have to always have the software (steel series) open in the background to take advantage of the sound tuning. These are my second pair (the first pair lasted around 3 or 4 years of heavy daily usage.) The reason they broke was because the charging port had been worn out and it became extremely loose. Making it impossible to charge. (To be fair, I was very rough with them and I could have extended their lifespan with better care) I tried to take them apart and replace the charging port but they used proprietary screws to limit access to the internals. After about 3 years of heavy use, the batteries max capacity was pretty degraded. From about 14 hours ish of use time when first bought, to about 5 or 6 hours of use time before needing to be charged. Whenever these headphones give out, ill probably upgrade to a more expensive pair from the steel-series selection, or just rebuy the same headphones.

SteelSeries Headset for Nintendo Switch MVP!!!

These are my first ever Gaming Headsets. Highly used for tabletop gaming and received a lot of good reactions from other players with headsets: I was told that the headset made me sound like a streamer. I have a fairly huge head and these have a snug fit: Not too tight nor not too loose, but just good.Pros: On/Off switch comes in handy when you do or do not want to have other players listen to you button smashing or background noise. Also, headset has a volume slider and really makes it a nice touch when you don't want to use your consoles volume control while playing. Replaceable ear cushions!! OMG! There are moments that I forget about cable length and have snagged my Nintendo Switch off the table and dropped to the floor when I moved because I had my headset on. oops!Overall, these are the best for the price in terms of design, audio/mic quality, comfort, and value. A random teammate on Fortnite squads recommended me SteelSeries headsets when I asked what headsets he was using because the sound sounds sooooo crisp, smooth, and clear!! *chefs kiss*

Works with Xbox, PS5, and phone calls (s10+)
27 January 2022

I originally purchased this for Xbox gaming with voice chat in mind. In addition to that they’ve turned into a general use headset for movies, Netflix, YouTube, etc. through Xbox. This is compatible with PS5, and you just need to switch over the ‘Xbox’ option on the USB-C dongle. The headset is also used for work calls and regular calls and I’ve had no complaints on the voice sound quality. Just plug the dongle into your phone (S10+) and turn off the ‘Xbox’ switch.Regarding Xbox live gaming the sound quality is fine and the mix level for voice chat can be adjusted between the headset volume control and the Xbox settings. Keep in mind I’ve only had one headset prior to this and I’m in no way making claims this is the highest quality audio. Everything sounds great to me, and I never really think about it.Long term wear on the head is comfortable. You might feel it on the top of your head after a couple of hours, but easily adjusted like any headset. They’re not heavy so that helps. Mic position is adjustable and removable. Mute switch is great for family interruptions. There are a couple of nitpicks. I cannot tell the battery charge level based on light color. I can only see if the light is blinking or not. While the dongle is USB-C the charging port on the headphones is Micro-USB.

The headphones themselves sound awesome and the mic sounds really good for what it is. The drivers are great and have no problem hitting lows, punchy or sustained bass, which is what I look for in a headphone. They sound like they should be in something two or three times the price. I honestly think they sound better than my old sony dj headphones, mdr-v700's. and they were over $150, however they prob block out more background sound since the cups are vinylish. the cups themselves on the steel series are not vinyl or anything that gets hot and uncomfortable, its something like a thicker type of cottonish stuff with some light foam like stuff for padding. I can wear them for hours and not have heat or comfort issues. The mic is also detachable so it can just be headphones only. You cant find a better headphone even if you go up another 25 bucks. You can save a couple bucks and get the 20 or 30 dollar headphones but I consider those disposable since they are basically dollar store stuff with small drivers and no
