Amazing, but unit failed after 1 year.

Definitely the best pair of headphones I have ever used. It Works amazingly with dongle on PC, PS4/5 and through Bluetooth on mobile. However, I found connecting to PC with Bluetooth resulted in questionable very poor audio quality (However this may have been a fault on my end). Additionally I started noticing problems with the headset about 4 months after purchase, with the headset not registering and button inputs, after that static began to passively creep in whenever not connected to any devices, and now the headset has fully shut down on me. This review would have been a 5 star however it's quite disappointing that my set only lasted me a year and a month.

Comfy but problematic!

As soon as I put them on they fit my big melon like a glove and I love the fabric ear cups, but that's the only good things about them. I had connection issues right out of the gate, they kept going silent and was on and off were the audio would kick out for 3-5 seconds then come back. After reconnecting to my Xbox Series X they worked for about two hours before randomly turning off while stating to be fully charged. The bass boost just make the audio sound flat but give no extra bass and the other 3 audio settings didn't make up for any audio loss either. On top of that Steel Series claim to have a surround feature through Xbox's "Sonic Spatial" but just sounded terrible and even using "Dolby Atmos" couldn't fix and lack of audio I was having.Sadly my Astro A10's ... MoreAs soon as I put them on they fit my big melon like a glove and I love the fabric ear cups, but that's the only good things about them. If you have an Xbox One S, X, or new Series S or X it won't be a problem to you, I have been using my brothers Xbox One X and have had no problems whatsoever. It could just be the shape of my ears but I found the earmuffs very uncomfortable, after a while the plastic from inside would hurt with the pressure. This was enough of an issue for me to stop using this headset for a while but eventually I decided to spend the 25$ and buy some upgraded earmuffs from Wicked Cushions. After replacing the earmuffs it is much much more comfortable and even if you don't have the problem with your ears you will appreciate this headset even more with upgraded earmuffs.I hope you found this review helpful and the 200$ price is more than reasonable. The quality is great and this headset will last you forever if you take care of your things. If you previously used a wired headset you will love these and being able to walk around without a chord.

Great headset overall, do not recommend for PC.
28 May 2023

Great headset, sound is amazing and I find it fantastic for FPS games. The surround sound gives fantastic spacial awareness and has a fantastic battery life to boot. The build quality also matches the price of the headset. However, it is advertised as compatible with PC gaming. It is, to a degree. The headset will need a wireless dongle to be able to use the microphone. If you don't choose to use the dongle you will have to use the headset as a sound device only.If you're planning to use the headset for Xbox gaming, I highly recommend it. Easily out-performs the other high end headsets for consoles. But as I said, I don't recommend this headset if you're going to use it for PC gaming.

the microphone works excellent in Discord but is a little sensitive. AKA picks up a little more than it should. although that could be something to do in the settings I still have to learn. I was hoping to have a little more wireless range ( like a house phone) but that may also have something to do with the fact that i bought used & the battrys are few years old. I seem to remember my roommates set being able to go all the way to the curb out front. where is this set I can only get about halfway through my yard before thay cut out. otherwise they're comfortable and great for gaming, they give you a warning beep when the battery needs to be swapped out & automatically swap over to your phone call if you if you have the Bluetooth pair to your phone. side note they're ... Morethe microphone works excellent in Discord but is a little sensitive. OWNED 4 PAIRS WONT LAST!!

I've owned this headset since its release and during this time I have got a replacement 4 times. Two times it was because there was a rattling sound coming from the inside of the headset. Id like to add I'm always careful with my Headphones. I later realised why I had this issue the first 2 times. This happens because the hinges are poor quality and designed poorly. The hinge causes a slight crack in the plastic overtime which causes the ear pieces range of motion to increase. The rattling sound was coming from a samll piece of plastic that cracked off the hinge. This then effects the clamping force of the headset I noticed whenever I got a new pair it would be comfortable but after a few months the clamping force was gone. You can find many people having this problem on reddit. The only reason I continue to get this headset is because its the only headset i can connect to both my Xbox or PC and phone simultaneously. If you don't need this feature I don't recommend this product. The second a headset with the same capability appears I'm switching. For such an expensive product you'd expect it to have some longevity but no.

I first bought this headset when it was originally being advertised as a wireless headset that works on an Xbox 1. I enjoyed it quite a bit. The audio was amazing, the mic quality was amazing, I thought it coukd have some more buttons to make things a little easier but overall I was very pleased. Some glitches made it brick which kept it at 4* but it was very easy to reset. A couple months into using it the right earmuff started snapping, a small piece at first, then another, and then the right earmuff broke off leaving it connected by the wires. I thought I had just been too rough with it so I ordered another one of these headsets. This was about a month ago, the EXACT same thing happened. I thought I had just been too rough with it so I ordered another one of these headsets. This was about a month ago, the EXACT same thing happened. This headset came with more gltiches than the last and broke in literally the exact same way. When connecting it to my console sometimes it would shut itself off a few seconds later. Other times it would have the audio go in and out rapidly and all I couod do is restart the headset until it worked which coukd take up to 15 minutes. Sometimes when plugging it in to charge the headset would brick and I'd have to take the right ear cup off and click a tiny button inside a tiny hole using a needle just to use the headset again. And now my left earmuff is hanging by a wire, I had taken a level of care with this headset that I hadn't done with any other object before. I really thought this headset was amazing, but after this many issues, and that much many down the drain, I cant give this a good review anymore. Some say this headsets amazing, but I cant agree with them anymore.

Review of STEELSERIES Arctis 9X Wireless 7.1 Gaming Headset - Black

Good Points: Comfortable for long gaming sessions. Battery life is great. Friends reported microphone clarity as great. Audio quality is fantastic, I also use these in my piano as they're well balanced. It's also neat being able to take a phone call via the Bluetooth whilst playing a game you're unable to pause. I like that the microphone glows when you've pushed the mute button so you know you're muted. I like that it's true wireless, so I don't have a cable coming from my controller to the headset. Range of it is pretty good as I can wear it around the house and friends can still hear me.Improvement Points: Charging it directly from your console with the cable provided isn't practical, so I tend to plug it into my phone charger for quick charging, as I'd left it ... MoreGood Points: Comfortable for long gaming sessions. The retractable microphone feels a little flimsy, but it's still a useful feature. There were teething issues with the audio at first, it kept dropping off randomly but that seems to have stopped over the past few weeks. Also, when you go out of range, it doesn't immediately re-pair, so I have to turn it off and on again sometimes when I'm back in range.
