Chair handrest and base wear and tear

I bought this chair year and half back and over the period this has developed cracks on the handrest and the base has developed lint.Today, i visited office works and store manager(Camblefield) have advised to talk to manufacture directly as they support only 12 months care and only for structural issues not wear and tear. However description advised 15 month warranty and not clear call out for wear and tear exclusion, in this case product quality is very poor based on attached pictures for same.I have asked for manufacturer details to liaise with them and have been advised to check my order/receipt, as they don't have the details. There was no courtesy or assistance from the store to help the customer.

Comfy Seat, Terrible back rest

Bought this chair for work. old chair, the seat cushion was gone. Have had it for a few hours. It was simple to setup and easy to adjust the seat height, seat and back tilt and back height. The seat cushion seems to be comfy and the tilt helps heaps. The back rest is an issue. It's not very tall, nor is it erganomic or comfy. Although you can adjust the height and tilt, it has zero back support. It is very flexable and not firm. After 2 hrs, I'm already getting a sore back. I have added a back support pillow but now sit too far forward on the seat. For something of this price, you would expect it to be better quality and more comfortable.I'm 180cm, stocky build. Recommended for shorter people.

Gas Strut Failed

I purchased this chair in January 2020, as I am a larger man with lower back problems. It took a little while to get the settings right, and get used to sitting in it. I have found that the seat cushion is a little hard and uncomfortable for a person of my weight (140kg). After approx. 15 to 18 months the gas strut started to fail. It would drop a little bit to start with, but now just this week it has completely failed. What I mean by completely failed is, that while sitting in it you can feel it drop a little then not long after that it will drop all the way down to its lowest point. As I said I am 140kg and I do a lot of sitting of between 8 to 6hrs a day 5 days a week. I will be taking it back to Officeworks to et a replacement of my moneyback, as it as failed in its operation as being a Heavy Duty Office Chair for larger people.

Good chair but a few build promblems
2 January 2022

The chair it self is great, might take a bit of time to get used to, the mesh back is great for airflow in a hot Australian room, the padded seat feels great too. However my right arm rest seems to be a bit weaker then the left and sometimes falls down to the lowest setting. The left arm rest is super strong and with about 60% of my weight on it, it wont fall down, the right however just needs a fraction more weight then my right arm and itll fall to the lowest setting. The back rest also tilts left and right a little bit. Ive only owned it for about a week, ill try tighting up screws but this will be something youll have to know before buying. As for some reviews claiming you need to be 6ft or big, im currently about 5"10 and 70kg, the chair has caused no back ... MoreThe chair it self is great, might take a bit of time to get used to, the mesh back is great for airflow in a hot Australian room, the padded seat feels great too. The chair is heavy and struggles with carpet, would recommend aftermarket wheels if you're planning to use it on carpet, many options on amazon for quite cheap. Building it was quite straight forward. I recommend this chair, but just keep in mind the arm rest and back rest being a bit weak for some reason 7/10 quite a respectful score.

Great quality office chair!

Being a solid Aussie male, it is often hard to find an affordable office chair that is solid enough for constant daily use. This chair with it's wide seat, huge 160kg load rating, ergonomic 8+ hour rating, solid metal construction, 10 year warranty and top shelf list of ergonomic adjustments ticks all of the boxes for me.The thick seat cushion is really comfortable and limits any pressure points. I ended up breaking the plastic cover that covers the screws that attach the back rest to the seat base. It turns out that this cover doesn't need to be removed to access the screws. Just pull to extend the metal shaft so it clears the plastic cover. This is a small issue that does not detract from the quality of the chair.

Looks good, but not a good chair
14 August 2022

No lumbar support; adjusting the back is badly designed and the slightest knock causes the back to loose its setting. The seating area tilt is adjustable from forward tilting to flat, but not back, therefore the leg support is not ideal and it feels like you're sliding off toward the front, even on its extreme back tilt position. The right side arm rest adjustment stopped working properly after just a few months of using it. After trying a different chair, I am now convinced this chair contributed to my back pain.

No back support
10 January 2022

I bought this chair 6 months ago as an upgrade from my dining chair to work from home. Within a day, my lower back was in bad shape - sitting on this chair was worse than using the dining chair. The seat is very deep, so as some other reviews have mentioned, this chair will not work for you unless you are very tall. There is no lumbar support and I have had to buy an additional cushion to make the chair useable. To it's credit, it is very sturdy with a thick seat cushion. Almost daily use for 6 months and no issues with the gas lever.

Very comfortable
18 January 2023

I bought one in 2020 & like it so bought another in 2021 (dumped some older junk chairs). They a both quite comfortable for long days of computer use & wheeling around my office/studio. However, both chairs suffer gradual dropping of height for past many months. So I finally got around to calling my local store at Taren Point where I purchased both. No trouoble at all, they found my orders/receipts online & are shipping me 2 gas struts at no charge under warranty. Thank you Officeworks, I should called months ago.If they hadn't failed in the first place, these chairs would rate a full 5 stars.

Very comfortable but back rest is not stable.
10 August 2022

I bought this chair on the 8 August 2022 and assembled next day. I ensured all screws were tight but noticed that the backrest is not very stable and wobbles and has sideways movement. Thought maybe I had not tightened the three bolts that secure the backrest to the chair but checked and all were tight and then I discovered the wobble is not at the base where the bolts are but higher up under the plastic cover. Very annoying as every time you lean back on the chair the backrest moves a centimeter or so from side to side. Will be returning for refund.

no back support
1 July 2022

this chair can be adjusted by many levers but has no back support. It seems to be more fit for tall people (wider and deep seat) . if you are less than 6 feet, you will face discomfort because of lack of back support . It is extremely heavy but seller already said iti s heavy duty. I don't like this chair.
