I purchased the Stubb’s original BBQ sauce at my local grocery store. I tried it on pulled pork today and this BBQ sauce is everything! It’s a little thinner than most BBQ sauces but I actually prefer it this way. The sauce has a spicy kick to it (but it’s not too spicy) and it’s perfect for flavoring pulled pork or anything BBQ. I will definitely be using this BBQ sauce often in the future. I do recommend it!

I'm usually one who thinks that all barbecue sauces taste alike and pick the one that is the cheapest on the shelf. I got a bottle of Stubb's Sticky Sweet Bar B Q Sauce and thought ho hum, another barbecue sauce. Having some chicken breasts handy in the frig and a sweet potatoes in the cupboard, tonight would be an indoor barbecue night. Needless to say, I was surprised by the taste of this sauce. It is thinner than most so it pours easily, it is sweeter than most, but it also has a mild sour twang that adds to the overall taste. My wife, who does not like barbecue sauce, even liked it! I look forward to having it on other meats and also use it when grilling outdoors (once the warm weather arrives). Try it for yourself! This could become your go-to sauce!!

Anything BBQ. Though I always pleased with this product, I was very disappointed in the way this was shipped. I cam with both bottles broker. I had ordered canned goods plus other things. The bbq was on the bottom and a case of canned tomato sauce was laying on top with very little packing to avoid breakage. Personally I would not have packed glass with canned. I was reimbursed on my charge but it is just inconvenient. I ended buying from a competitor.

It's good, I like it. Sweetness is not too much or too little, low sugar, no artificial sweeteners that so many sauces have. The cap just sort of sits on top though, can't screw it tight. Be careful how you hold it if shaking the bottle. (I hold it twisting in the direction it screws on while shaking.)
Pros: If you are looking for different flavors they have many types to choose from. It is ok on chicken, and also loose meat sandwiches.Cons: I would not prefer this to be used on ribs. It is so so and why I gave it a rating of 3 out of 5 stars. It has a tangy sharp flavor on your tongue. Almost more tomato based sauce. It was not what I expected the first time having it. Sounds silly BUT this is a huge glass bottle, not plastic and is very heavy and awkward to use.How long product has been owned: First purchase.I would not recommend this product to family and friends if you were going to have just one or two sauces in your fridge at a time.
This product imparts a lovely, understated, but ultimately delicious flavor. I used it on chicken leg quarters, sealing the chicken and marinade in a vacuum bag and refrigerated it overnight. I didn't grill the chicken as directed, 'cause I'm not using my grill right now. Instead I baked it. It came out moist and delicious. I will definitely be buying this again. One issue, and one star was taken off for this: the directions say to marinate the chicken with half a cup of the marinade and reserve the remainder for basting. Well-l-l, the packet only MAKES half a cup of marinade. Ergo, no baste. Well I forsaw this and reserved some, knowing that the vacuum would maximize the marinating powers of the reduced quantity. One other thing -- next time I plan to bake the ... MoreThis product imparts a lovely, understated, but ultimately delicious flavor. The marinated skin was kinda flabby and never crisped.up -- remember this was not cooked on a grill, which might have made a difference
This was the most odd tasting bbq sauce I’ve ever tried. A very strange taste like plastic or some sort of chemical taste. If I try a sauce and don’t particularly like it for dipping, I can usually just mix it with something and use it for grilling or baked chicken or something else. This sauce is so odd tasting to me that I think if I tried, that taste would still come through and ruin food. I suppose it’s good to most people, according to the rest of the reviews, but didn’t work at all for me.
I tried the Stubb's Citrus & Onion Chicken Marinade on chicken quarters, cooked on a BBQ grill. The marinade was very thin and the oil would quickly separate to the top no matter how long I whisked it. This was a problem when I needed to remove 1/2 c. to use for marinating and save the remainder for brushing on while cooking. I felt I was not getting a well mixed portion. There was also very little left to brush on during cooking. I wish it would stay mixed and was a little thicker so it would cling to the chicken better. The overall cooked flavor was very weak with no flavor highlights to speak of. About all I could taste was a little onion, but I didn't get citrus or spice flavor out of it. Even the salt level was weak. The vinegar that was added to the marinade ... MoreI tried the Stubb's Citrus & Onion Chicken Marinade on chicken quarters, cooked on a BBQ grill. Although it was easy and convenient to make, the problem of it separating made it less functional.
I found the BBQ sauce of my childhood memories! Oh I'm so happy about it too! I grew up with BBQ. Not grilling, but BBQ! The sauce is supposed to be sweet with a subtle smokey flavor that lingers a bit, even after the meat it was on, is gone. It should have a slight tanginess that balances with the sweetness, neither should overpower the other. And it should stay on the meat, slowly caramelizing in those final moments of cooking. Stubb's does all this and more. Because you don't have to spend hours making your own sauce to get this level of perfection. Its done and in a perfect glass, (not plastic) bottle and made with good and good for youingredients. I don't know if I could ask for anything more from a bottle. No gluten, no high fructose corn syrup, kosher, and ... MoreI found the BBQ sauce of my childhood memories! Oh I'm so happy about it too! I grew up with BBQ. Not grilling, but BBQ! This sauce is a vety light, sweet sauce where the heavy sweetness of the brown sugar takes a dominant role. It has a mild, smoky undertone that dwells in the sftertaste. Most sauces are either mild and sweet, or they are spicy and bold. This has a very mild flavor and lingering behind the sweetness i a spicy aftertaste. The spicyness was relatively mild, but too strong for my wife, who has trouble with very much spicy heat in anything. On a 1-10 scale, i would rate the spicy heat as about a 3 or 4. I used this as a condiment on chicken pieces and hot dogs. I did not care for the sauce on chicken pieces (flavors just did not compliment each other), and the hot dog (cheap, standard dogs) flavor was stronger than the mild sauce, requiring more sauce to gain much ... MoreThis sauce is a vety light, sweet sauce where the heavy sweetness of the brown sugar takes a dominant role. I was immediately struck with the smoky part of the sauce enhancing the flavor of the pork. The sweetness took more of a back seat and added to the aftertaste. Excellent combination.Tried with baked chicken. Found sweetness prevails with little of smokey nature noted. If you like sweet bbq sauces, give this a try. Pleasant surprize.

Stubb's Sticky Sweet BBQ Sauce
Thick, rich and loaded with brown sugar and molasses, this sauce is dripping with sticky sweetness that everyone is going to love. Stubb loved a good road trip. Sometimes he'd cook up a bunch of food, load it into his Cadillac and head east to Memphis or Nashville. Then he'd find out who was playing a gig that night, show up and turn his BBQ into a backstage pass. Along the way, he picked up a some sweet southern BBQ tradition that you will taste in every drop of this sauce.
