I have a manual espresso machine, and making milk based drinks was so off putting as I had to texture milk using a french press. The FP was able to texture milk, but I could not consistent or excellent results. I was not convinced by the nanofoamer V1, but the V2 lithium is definitely an amazing device. I make 1 cup daily and charge it every 3 weeks. It can go more but it slows down a little at this point. The cleanup is easy as well. I cannot appreciate the effort reduction in my workflow enough. It has a slight learning curve to it, which honestly depends a lot on the milk pitcher you are using. I have found that a 300-400 ml pitcher works best for me when texturing milk for one drink (around 160 ml).The negatives:1. The protective plastic sleeve does not fit ... It separates in a travel bag quite easily. Subminimal should consider giving it a similar click fit mechanism as the mesh, or a screw on mechanism.2. I could not find much information on the fine and super fine mesh. I use the fine mesh as per Subminimal's recommendation for beginners, but if they can add more information and use cases for these meshes, it would be really helpful.3. Only one pair of meshes. While the product seems durable and well built, I have a feeling that the first thing to fail would be the mesh due to all the physical and thermal stress. I had to import this, and importing just the meshes would be a real headache if it ever comes to that.

The good: I can make more micro foam with the Lithium compared with the V1, and I’m pretty sure its down to the faster RPM. I use my Lithium NanoFoamer all the time now, and it does the job.The bad: the power output on the V2 and the Lithium models are unreliable, plain and simple. The 2 V2s I was sent were unusable due to the RPMs stepping down (or up) with even slight movements/tilts to the whole unit; on average the speeds were well below my V1. I have heard that there is a hack where you jam foil into the battery compartments, but have not tried it.The Lithium at least works, but having tried it for about 2 weeks over ~35 coffees it unfortunately is showing similar speed variability to the V2. I assume this is something to do with internal components ... MoreThe good: I can make more micro foam with the Lithium compared with the V1, and I’m pretty sure its down to the faster RPM. I have heard that there is a hack where you jam foil into the battery compartments, but have not tried it.The Lithium at least works, but having tried it for about 2 weeks over ~35 coffees it unfortunately is showing similar speed variability to the V2. I assume this is something to do with internal components jiggling around enough to mess with the constant power output, which would be a disappointing fault. The power variability issues, coupled with the shaft shimmying a tad, make the lower of the 2 spin speeds unusable about half the time (it doesn’t shimmy at the higher speed, thankfully).Basically: if you’re happy with your V1, stick with it; if you love foam and want more of it, get a Lithium. You won’t get shafted (ha ha) by a completely broken unit - just contact Subminimal who I found to have outstanding customer service. If you haven’t use any NanoFoamers before and you want a compact tool for foaming, I still recommend the V1 or the Lithium. I’m afraid my hopes were high because the V1 is perfectly serviceable.
It is not just any cheap stick type milk frother. I got a Lithium version Nanofoamer and it makes milk really velvety. I actually have a Breville Barista Express machine and it steams milk ok with water. When I taste a cup of Latte from BES, I can feel the watery taste. However, when I use this simple but mighty foamer (with the guide from Subminimal, which is easy to understand and easy to follow), it just makes smooth milk without any water. Latte with milk from Nanofoamer taste like more milky (not watery). If I just point out a drawback when it comes to workflow, it would be the time it takes to warm the milk up to approx. 60 degree celcius. Since we should heat up milk over low-medium heat, it takes quite much time. If you forget about warming your milk ... MoreIt is not just any cheap stick type milk frother. Flair or other espressomachine, it would take much longer time to make a cup of latte. Besides, while you are waiting to heat up your milk on stove, the espresso probably becomes cooled down, which is not good. But overall, If you take this into consideration and prepare your milk properly, it absolutely makes amazing milk.
Owning the NanoFoamer V1, with fresh batteries, was able to achieve results close to that of steamed milk, however it was going through batteries very regularly and found with reduced battery power, the unit simply did not show consistency (this after upgrading to the Lithium)I recently upgraded to the NanoFoamer Lithium, and this runs rings around the V1/V2 battery versions. The available current (mAh) from a Lithium Battery is needed to keep the speed consistent from the motor under load conditions. On a single charge, the NanoFoamer Lithium is very consistent and reliable. The consistency of the Lithium version allows to produce milk texture that is close to indistinguishable from correctly steamed milk, so Kudos to the designers and engineer teams in the ... I think this product is a complete gamechanger for any user of a manual/lever espresso machine, or for that matter - any espresso machine with no milk steaming capability. The easiness of getting high quality microfoam with the lithium model is astounding.I bought myself a new unit and it works like a charm. For user feedback - I cannot speak of the quality of the foam, and whether it is latte art capable, as I have cerebral palsy and my hands work randomly when doing precision stuff. Taste-wise, however, the texture is pretty much right there, on a cafe level - which is even more pronounced when compared to the previous version. Good job on that. I had written this kind of detailed feedback directly to Dominic Symons previously, but i want to explain my ways ... Taste-wise, however, the texture is pretty much right there, on a cafe level - which is even more pronounced when compared to the previous version. Good job on that. I had written this kind of detailed feedback directly to Dominic Symons previously, but i want to explain my ways around the nanofoamer. My workflow is like this: previously I have been using Jura Hot & Cold milk frother for my cappuccinos. Now, I changed the frothing attachment in the frother to a heating one. I just use the Jura's induction heating feature. Then I transfer the milk into my pitcher, and 'steam it' with the nanofoamer. Simple as that.As for what I wanted to see improved, as opposed to the legacy units:- The switch has been changed to an on/off button - as I stipulated in my previous feedback.- The impeller has been changed to a more solid design- Wall plug USB PSU/Lithium battery have been added, as I suggested. The LIthium model addresses all those issues. I don't know whether any of my previoius feedback had a meaning here, but I am happy to see those improvements! This makes the new model the best way to make microfoam at home, apart from a steam wand.
I have purchased at least a dozen, cheap hand frothers over the years, to make my keto coffee and matcha tea. Every one has been a disappointment in one way or another. The posts bend, the springs come loose, the unit just stops working. I was hesitant to spend $60 on a frother, but the reviews were too good to not give it a shot. OMG! This thing is amazing! Its sturdy, heavy and very powerful I love the more sturdy post, it will take a lot to bend that. I have used it for both my coffee and tea and it works so good. I'm not a foam drinker, so not looking for that, but it mixes both my drinks so well, so creamy, so smooth. I wasn't sure if the screens could handle the matcha powder, but the "fine" one does so well. I generally drink my tea plain, but thought I'd do ... Using coconut milk, again, I am ok with low to no foam, but, even this created a nice creamy addition to my tea.Not to get too descriptive, I also have IBS, I have to drink Psyllium power on a daily basis to keep my stomach in check. Removing the screens, and just using the head as is, mixes this very well and its not "chunky" at all. Thank you Subminimal for an awesome product.

I'm just getting started with making microfoam, and I've already had decent success with this foamer. It's clear others are able to do great stuff with it, so it'll just take practice. The build is very sturdy, and it's easy to clean. I also have an Aerocinno, but I find them essentially useless for milk drinks because you have warm milk and foam too thick to do anything but plop on top of a drink. My girlfriend already prefers this foam over the Aerocinno. I'm looking forward to subminimal's Nanofoamer Pro, and I'm glad I already have the hand operated version in case I use it for travel. My only complaint is that it's difficult to get my batteries out sometimes. But I'm using IKEA LADDA rechargeable batteries (rebranded Eneloop Pros), which are thicker than most batteries. It's my understanding the battery compartment needs to be tight to reduce vibrations, which makes sense. The tight compartment doesn't negatively affect the foamer and only means you have to work a bit to get the batteries out. I tap the compartment against a towel on the counter and I'm able to get the batteries out pretty easily, so it's not an issue.
