The cup can be rinsed under running water, it is not dishwasher-safe and the base cannot be completely submerged in water.

In my opinion it comes at right size, very light and straight forward to use instantly. I liked that it turns off quickly automatically. The 2 things that are missing to me:1. A 25/50g mini block for calibrating2. Support for small feed grinders like my Lagom P64, because beans just fall out pretty regularly. It could be another version or an add-on.Overall a great product for a great price.

When I saw this, I knew it would be awesome. I run a coffee channel on YouTube and Dominic was really helpful in getting a Subscale to me very quickly. It's such a joy to use, like all Subminimal products. Really accurate when comparing against other scales, and I think more responsive than any other scale at this price point. If you pull a shot into it, the real time readout is fluid and easy to track. Being IPX4 rated, I love pulling shots into this thing. Overall, it's just a wonderful little invention! Do I wish it was made of standees steel, yes... But it would likely cost twice as much. As a standalone scale, it's brilliant. As a cup, it's brilliant. If you single dose your beans, this is an absolute must-have! Subminimal really know how to make great products!

It is extremely rate that I respond to an ad and buy the product but at i couldn't resist the beauty in the video clip and the promising fictionality. besides saving a step in single dose weighting, the large display makes it fun to use. I suspected that the precision will suffer, but I tried standard weights of 20gm and 50gm and it was correct to within 0.1 gm. i likes it so much that I bought a second one to use it for espresso extraction, i.e. as "the wet scale". Again - seeing the weight directly in the cup is an amazing advantage. I expect this to become a hit in coffee videos. On the down side, I have had them for only a few weeks, thus I can't tell yet how reliable it would be. This is not an issue for weighting coffee beans or even for double clicks, but I have not succeeded yet to do 4 x click for calibration.

This is an excellent scale for weighing coffee. If you're wondering if it's an expensive gimmick or if you really need it, don't worry, you won't be disappointed. The design is nice, the finish is smooth matte black and the invisible LED display is really neat. It weighs accurately and is completely intuitive to use, as it tares automatically when placed on a surface and has only one button. It is a thoroughly enjoyable tool. Highly recommended!

I found it a little tricky to set up grams vs. ounces despite the instructions being so simple. Also finding it may take a little getting used to to turn it on. The power button needs a tap and does not depress, which I don't recall reading. I'd move it to the top front or better the top side because on the countertop it's a little low and somewhat awkward to touch. Though not a killer, the usb charger should be on the side instead of bottom. Finally, the size is perfect for my use but others may want a second larger size cup.
The design of the scale is very nice and it works fine also it definitily improves my espresso workflow. However after checking with several other scales I detected a deviation of 0.1 g. Also I very often have the problem to turn the scale off. Even if I hold the Button for 5 secs or longer it doesn't turn off, instead of Switching off, the scale wants to tare. Maybe another on off Button would help so the Software is not confused. The scale itself is super Nice, however for the price it would be nice to get the two mentioned improvement opportunities fixed with qc and maybe a Change of the switch.
This scale/dosing cup is a gorgeous piece of design for the coffee station, but it is a bit fiddly to use. The black-on-black button is almost impossible to see, and since it provides no feedback, is challenging to use. Having accidentally set the readout to ounces, it took a lot of poking to get it back to grams. (Pro tip: the cup does not like you to pick it up when trying to use the button.)The scale must be on a hard, flat surface to get a reliable reading. All scales do to some extent, but this one is especially finicky in my experience.Once I got everything set up, and integrated into my workflow, it became a joy to use. The big, high-contrast display is both pretty and functional. The dosing cup works just fine if you do RDT on your beans.
First off, love this as a concept, but execution needs a couple tweaks to be better.Likes:-Measurement is fast and accurate-Turns itself off-Small vs flat scale you might be using-Fun to see the display appear from behind the plasticDislikes:-This product does not have a premium feel. I was expecting something metal like the Flick and it looks and feels like plastic, right down to the heft-The screen should be brighter. It’s very dim, and unless you’re looking from head on, it is not as visible as it could be. If you’re using it on your counter, it’s not going to be as bright-The charging port is not sealed with any kind of gasket. Feels like it should have one given you can use this for liquids and if you wanna wash it out in the sink-This is a nitpick, ... MoreFirst off, love this as a concept, but execution needs a couple tweaks to be better.Likes:-Measurement is fast and accurate-Turns itself off-Small vs flat scale you might be using-Fun to see the display appear from behind the plasticDislikes:-This product does not have a premium feel. yes, it does everything you can read in the description, BUT bear in mind it only works properly only while standing on a flat surface. As soon as you lift it with your hand, you have to start the process again. Pressing the only button is a little bit annoyng. It sometimes takes me a while to set the grams again instead of oz. I catch myself after waking up and brewing the first coffee that I just put it on the set of scales and use it like a plain container to weigh my beans :D Mind you, I don't do espresso. Maybe it is more than a gadget if you use it for this kind of stuff. I am a pour over girl.
