The best sequels are based on the idea of taking what was loved and improve/expand upon it. In that respect Subnautica Below Zero has achived that. Expanded gameplay features, expanded danger, clearer tutorials making it more friendly for first time players. Playin the first one is not required to play this one but as always it would help jump start your experience to be familiar with the mechanics. The story is fun and you can choose your level of challenge to have a true survival experience or just have fun building. The environment is massive feeling and is full or fun to explore...just don't get eaten.

Subnautica below zero is a fun game that challenges to survive while find out what happened to your sister. It is challenging and fun. The game also has a mode that just lets you enjoy the sea with no limitations or goals. So you can play the game in the modes above or two additional modes. I am having a blast. I will highly recommend this game.

Scariest game I’ve ever played in my 35 year gaming career. Two 30+ hour adventures for the price of one! Also, I was very impressed with the quality of the game being ported to the Switch. It even loads 3 times faster than the PS4. Definitely not an Ark Survival type of port but more like the Dying Light or Witcher 3 ports. I couldn’t be happier playing this on the go. ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION: Both games are on the cartridge! I don’t know how but if you start the games before downloading updates; they will play.

Subnautica is an underwater, first person exploration game. This is an excellent double pack, featuring the first game and the sequel below zero. Performance is a little poor on the switch, but manageable. For those susceptible to motion sickness or deep alien critters in dark underwater environments, proceed with caution!
Bought this for my son for Christmas with many other games. He finally got to this one and I am amazed by the graphics and all of the amazing interactions and things you can build. This game has a lot to offer and has been keeping him busy for days. We have been playing it for days on our 65" television and it looks awesome on there.
This was the most immersive and beautiful games. 70 hours spent in world. Until I hit a bug that made the game on playable. Based on the large number of reports, this bug seems isolated to the Switch version. Users lose the ability to select items. For a crafting game, this cripples game play. There is zero evidence of any upcoming bug fixes from the developers. Buyer beware.

First, I would suggest playing the first Subnautica game first. It is bit more expansive and it also goes at a slower pace so you're not so overwhelmed at first. I feel like it would be easy to get lost pretty fast in Below Zero, for someone who has not played the first game.That being said, if you are at all interested anything involving crafting, survival, exploration, discovery, sci-fi, then I highly recommend playing these games. They are incredibly addicting.I'm playing Below Zero on an Xbox series X and the game runs great. There is a high performance mode and a high frame rate mode. I use the performance mode so I can get a lower frame rate since I feel like the higher frame rate would give me motion sickness.

I have the original on another system, so I decided to buy this 2-pack to replay it. Both games run reasonably well, there is a bit of pop-in but it didn't ruin the experience. There were a few savegame-destroying bugs which are fixed now. It might be worth checking out Reddit to see if there are any new bug issues.The game itself (both have similar plots) is that you land on a planet and must explore while figuring how to get off of it. You gather materials and technological "recipes" while exploring deeper and deeper. There are a variety of biomes, creatures, and tools/vehicles.
