A favourite but turned rancid after 3 months :(

This was the best lip balm I have ever tried in my life. So glossy. ACTUALLY moisturizing. I told everyone in my life they had to go out and get it, I was SO obsessed. Brought me joy to my life. The iced coffee scent is so incredibly delicious that it turned me, a coffee hater, into a coffee enthusiast. Everytime i would apply it (you really don't have to reapply often, it lasts better than other glosses/balms) I would have to smell it in the tube before because I was so obsessed with the scent and it brought me unparalleled joy. I would force everyone in my life to smell it until people literally tried stealing it from me. It's that good. All until the frightful day where I open it and the smell is so god awful. Rancid. I hate when a good product is ruined by being "clean" and going bad SOO quickly, making it arguably more unsafe than any "non clean" product. It's supposed to last 12 months but mine unfortunately did not make it. Pls marianna girl i am begging you come out with a non "clean" version of this product. I will buy all of them I promise you. I am so sad to give this lip balm a bad rating I still want to buy them I just can't justify repurchasing something at the pricepoint that it's at every 3 months because it goes bad so quickly. Am i still going to use mine? Yes... Will I eventually buy a new one?? Ya probably... but if products going bad quickly are a no-no for you then steer clear of this one (i'm so sorry) :(

Sadly, this lip balm is not that special, even thought I like the idea of a limited edition birthday-themed product. The applicator is nice, but the formula is quite thick and a bit sticky. Therefore, the product is hard to get out: you squeeze, squeeze, squeeze out of the tube, which is made of thicker plastic than most designs of squeeze-types tubes. Overall, cute packaging, but it’s not the most practical: I already know I won’t be able to get all the grams of product out. I’d describe it as a « balmy gloss » rather than a lip balm: it definitely belongs in the makeup category rather than the skincare one. The scent is spot-on: exactly like birthday cake (think of a very sweet cake). I like sweet scents, but this one was a tad too realistic for me. The color is VERY sheer (it disappears on my lips) and the shimmer is so subtle it looks like a clear gloss on my lips. I was sooo disappointed! However, if you like a shiny effect, this one is for you! For 33$, I expected this product to deliver more. It’s okay, it’s average (compared to many lip products I’ve tried: I own close to 75) Save some $ and get the pink shimmery Clarins Lip Perfector (this version came out last summer) in the shade 21: Soft Pink Glow. The shimmers POP and are non-gritty, it is a real hydrating, non-sticky lip treatment, it smells like cake but less sweet than Summer Fridays (!!!), you can squeeze every single drop out of the tube and it is 26$.

The color is sheer but cute, I have medium skin and a little hyperpigmentation on my mouth area so it doesn't make my lips look different color-wise unless I use a lip liner. I've been using it non-stop since I got it, and it's pretty addicting. I like the applicator, usually, I'm not too fond of the squeezy tube ones, but this one is molded to fit the shape of a lip so it's quite comfortable to put on. I also like how the applicator is clear and you can see the product coming up. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because I find myself reapplying it often. It’s essentially just like their other pink lip gloss nothing special at all . However, the real disappointment lies in the packaging. The box it came in appears as though it was carelessly thrown together—dented and poorly handled. Even the lip gloss boxes were all dented and mangled. This is unfortunate because your PR packages to social media influencers are beautifully crafted, but regular consumers receive subpar packaging. The lack of attention to quality is a major turnoff. Many consumers are now waking up to this reality. Let’s be honest—even though these lip glosses are fantastic, they’re absurdly expensive. Moving forward, I’m content. As a loyal customer, I’ve seen it all. But here’s the thing: once they’ve got your dollar, it’s like they couldn’t care less. That’s the vibe I’m getting, No thanks.

More color than skincare

*Purchased myselfI live under a rock without TikTok so I had no idea this was viral; I bought it because I love a sheer red lip and I've been enjoying this. The cushiony gel/balm hybrid formula has a medium consistency that smooths lip lines but isn't goopy. It's moisturizing but doesn't last long so it's more color cosmetic than nourishing skincare. That said, the sheer true red tint is beautiful on my very fair skin and is a great option for anyone looking for a softer daytime red. It needs to be reapplied often to maintain the color but it's easily done without a mirror so I don't particularly mind. Although on the more expensive side for a lip balm, it does contain 15ml, more than the 8-10ml of many others, and there are more shade options available so $24 ... More*Purchased myselfI live under a rock without TikTok so I had no idea this was viral; I bought it because I love a sheer red lip and I've been enjoying this. I picked this one up in Sept 2022 but I haven't used it as often as the pink sugar, it still works perfectly fine and hasn't run out or anything despite its age.

Smells delicious, beautiful tint, very hydrating

I am kind of a sucker for lip products, and I get way too many of them. So it's really rare for any lip product to impress me since I feel like most of them kind of blend together after a while. But this one definitely stood out, starting with how delicious it smells! It might not be a smell for everyone, as it is extremely sweet -- I would say it reminds me of cherry buttercream frosting. I have a sweet tooth though, and I love it. It's also very hydrating, and the red tint actually shows up very well on the lips. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because while the packaging is very cute and even a bit nostalgic, I'm not sure it's the best packaging for the consistency of this product. I just often am getting too much to come out, and because it's relatively liquidy and spreads quickly, I have to take a tissue and wipe off excess product around my lips most of the time. Even that's not really enough for me to not love this, though. I'll most likely be getting the pink next time. I need to be disciplined and wait until I'm done with this one, though. Like I said -- too many lip products!

Summer Fridays Brown Sugar lip butter balm

I adore my Summer Fridays lip butter balm, the applicator is just cushiony and perfectly fitted to your lips. I have the brown sugar and the pink sugar flavours, that are completely divine. The balm is praised for its smooth and creamy texture, which makes the lips feel buttery soft. It’s designed to provide a natural-looking color that photographs beautifully in photos, with flash. The balm is of high-quality maintenance for us customers, vegan, cruelty-free, and free from harsh chemicals. The Brown Sugar shade is a deep, purple-brown hue that works well for various skin tones like my pale olive skin tone. The scent reminds me of sugary treats, adding a sweet taste similar to pink sugar.
