Sun Bum Lip Balm SPF 15 Coconut

Before purchasing this product, I have to admit that I rarely protected my lips in the sun. I think it’s fairly common for us to forget to apply spf to our lips. I bought myself the Banana flavor/scent and wow it smells and tastes so good! When I repurchase this, I think I may try out the coconut flavor. This has an spf of 30, which I appreciate. The only downside to this product is that sometimes I get a taste of the sunscreen that’s in it. It’s not at all overpowering and it’s something I hardly even notice, because of the strong banana flavor. I highly recommend you try this out so you can keep your lips protected in the sun!

So I put this on, and it's like... liquidy. I'm not talking melted in the car I'm talking stick of butter you left out half the day, and it's allllll up in my mouth. I've never had this with a lip balm in my life. And I'm clearly eating it because my stomach starts to hurt and the back of my tongue starts to taste like summertime and lotion. I'm trying to find a wipe to wipe this off when I start to notice my mouth feels a little smaller... y'all... my tongue had started swelling up... I go look in the mirror and my lips and tongue are swollen to the point I can't even put my lips together, I can't even stick my tongue out. Do not buy! The worst allergic reaction ever!

I had the worst allergic reaction in my life!!! If I could give this NO STARS I would! I decided to try this chapstick because the one I normally buy that is also vegan was not available. I wore it a few times and didn’t notice anything until one day my lips were so swollen and dry. My lips were bad for a whole month and cracked and bleeding. They were so bumpy and formed so many hives around my lips and going up towards my cheeks. There were canker sores all inside my lips and made it painful to do anything. It left me feeling so defeated over some dumb chapstick and what it did to my lips.

It's spf, not makeup

I have used Sun Bum spf lip balm for years and while I agree that it's not the most delicious-tasting lip product out there, it does what it's supposed to do - protect your lips from the sun's damaging rays. I've tried quite a few flavors and decided that Banana is IMO the best tasting option. I'm okay with the very slight spf taste because that's what I use this for - it's skincare, not makeup. I use this religiously at the pool & beach and have never had an issue with my lips burning, tanning, flaking, chapping, etc. How you feel about this product depends on your expectations- if you're looking for something to protect your lips, it works well; if you're looking for primarily lip balm that has an added perk of spf protection, you may be disappointed. Lost $500 from using this lip balm!

I used this lip balm over a week ago and after an hour lips started burning, itching, cracking and swelling. It took 2 days for it to go back to normal. I didn't know the cause of it since I'm not allergic to anything.It healed and I used it again 4 days after and my lips did the same thing all over again but hurt twice as much. This time my lips blistered as well. The chapping and cracking went so deep that my permanent lip makeup went with it. I just had it done before the summer and now the color is all gone. It should've lasted 5 years and now I'll have to get it done all over again. $500 down the drain just because I thought I chose a lip balm that would protect it.

Severe rash after using

I’ve never ever experienced a reaction to any lip or skin product. The first time I used Sun Bum lip balm I developed within minutes tingling of lips and skin, followed by lip swelling, redness, pain around the lips. In the next day the swelling got worse and then skin around the lips developped large cracks, edema and superimposed skin infection. Took about 10 days to resolve with Benadryl and topical antibiotics and steroids. I wasn’t sure if the culprit is the lip balm- thought maybe it was a Sun reaction? Other exposure? so a few month later I made the mistake of trying Sun Bum lip balm one more time when I had no sun exposure. Exactly the same thing happened and went through misery with a similar but worse severe rash that took more than a week to resolve. Smells delicious!

I bought a few different scents of this lip balm to take on a tropical vacation. (I have burned my lips in the past and didn't want to do it again!) the smell is delicious and it goes on smooth and buttery. Lasts for a decent amount of time. The consistency is more oily than waxy, which is fine with me, but I know some have a preference. My man really liked the key lime pie! It's his favorite dessert. I have used other sun bum products in the past and really liked them. My only complaint about this lip balm, is that the coconut scent doesn't come in a tinted version. I would be all over that!

THIS PRODUCT IS DANGEROUS

I have never in my entire life gotten my lips sunburnt. Decided to get this product and immediately after applying it my lips felt dry and cracked, but I thought maybe it was the sun so I reapplied it even though the taste is absolutely disgusting. Luckily enough the product melted completely so I couldn't use it anymore. After getting home I realized that not only did my lips feel like burning but they were literally cracked, swollen and red!!! But ohhh, I'm not over yet. This happened in April. My lips never healed and it's now August and I have a chronic lip rash due to using this product. I repeat, never in my entire life have I had a lip sunburn or any type of rash!!! PLEASE TAKE THIS OUT OF THE MARKET. IT IS DANGEROUS.

Terrible lip balm - this rating is too high

All of the good ratings for this product are 2 years old which makes me think it must have changed considerably during that time. Having just tried it, it is one of the worst lip balms I have ever tried. From new - cold - it had the soft consistency of a melted stick that had been left in the sun. The taste was sickly and has left a lingering, metallic chemical after taste for hours. The worst thing is that it has actually made my lips feel dry!Boots need to stop stocking this dreadful product.Ultrasun Lip Balm is excellent.

The absolute WORST lip balm ever

I used this during my trip to Hawaii to protect my lips from the sun. I applied 30 minutes before going to the beach and about 2 hours later my mouth started getting tight, red, and itchy. I assumed it was from saltwater and heat or maybe I got sunburned so I applied more lip balm to try to help and it made if worse!!! My mouth was swollen and raw the entire trip, I couldn’t eat and I could barely talk, it ruined all of my pictures too. I’m not allergic to anything and this caused one of the worst reactions I’ve ever experienced. This should be taken off shelves immediately, I am very mad at SunBum and will no longer be buying their products because of this experience.
