I was pleasantly surprised how nicely this smoothed onto my face so evenly. It’s strange how many tinted sunscreens go on greasy and unevenly. The color is a beautiful sheer-ish tint that does a decent job fading some light imperfections while providing sun protection. I used the heck out it when I was gardening in the Florida sun and it held up well with no “drip” marks from sweat. I did reapply as often as necessary. Didn’t feel disgusting like I do with some spfs that get sticky, weird and feel like a mask. Reapplication is a must as even if I spend all day inside it fades a bit. Sometimes I’ll put a little darker spf on over this if I’m going somewhere special to hide more imperfections, and for that I wish they offered a slightly darker formulation as well. ... I use this whenever I go to the beach or pool and I wouldn’t say it’s my absolute favorite sunscreen but it’s a good one. It does leave a white cast on me that is pretty visible especially when I get more tan from being in the sun a lot. I would say if you have more light skin it won’t be so apparent on you but if you’re tan or darker it would be a visible white cast. For me it’s also sort of hard to put on. If I try to use just a little to prevent getting such a visible white case, the sunscreen doesn’t go on too smoothly and doesn’t spread far. I love Sunbum but I think for body sunscreens personally I will be looking for a different brand to use just because I don’t like the white cast it leaves on me

It's not terrible, but I do not like it remotely, HALF as much as I like the Ulta brand one. I'm new to mineral sunscreens and I bought 2 from Sun Bum and 1 from Ulta. Both of the Sun Bum mineral sunscreens (SPF 30 and 50) are chunky and ridiculously harder to spread on the body. I felt like I was spreading toothpaste, or bondo on my legs and arms. I couldn't imagine trying to put it on my face. The Ulta brand is a sheer delight to put on in comparison. I felt like I COULDN'T rub it in and get past the white cast, and I am so pale I could blend in with a cloud. Any person with any color in their skin would probably have a nightmare with this product. After seeing how hard it was on my legs (30SPF) and arms (50SPF), I didn't DARE use it on my face and I used the Ulta ... Yeesh. I'll use the Sun Bums, and my husband will, but I definitely wouldn't repurchase it. Makes me reconsider the entire line from this brand after both tubes were so much chunkier in consistency and THICCER than your girls thighs versus Ulta's.

Email written to Sun Bum 6/29/2020. No reply to date.Dear Sun Bum,I recently returned from an 8-day climbing excursion on Mt. Rainier. While I normally use another mineral sunscreen and mineral lip balm product, based on positive reviews and their compact size I decided to try Sun Bum Mineral SPF 50 Sunscreen Lotion and Sun Bum Mineral SPF 30 Sunscreen Lip Balm for this trip. SPF ratings were the same as my usual products. I applied the Sunscreen Lotion to my face every 30-60 minutes (after shaking well), and the Sunscreen Lip Balm to my lips and lower nostrils at least every 30 minutes. I wore glacier glasses, a UPF 50 ball cap hat, a UPF 50 sun hoody, and a UPF 50 Buff covering my lower cheeks, jaw, and neck. Sadly, all the exposed areas of my face to which I ... I wore glacier glasses, a UPF 50 ball cap hat, a UPF 50 sun hoody, and a UPF 50 Buff covering my lower cheeks, jaw, and neck. Sadly, all the exposed areas of my face to which I applied these Sun Bum products (cheekbones, nose bridge, nostrils, lips) burned to the point of peeling. No other areas burned. This has never happened with my usual sunscreen products. I'm concerned that the Sun Bum products I listed are not up to their advertised SPF. They certainly did not seem up to the task of protecting the very small area of exposed skin on my recent trip. I don't know if I'm requesting anything beyond acknowledgement of this feedback, though a refund would probably be in order. Unfortunately, I can't go back in time to undo sun damage. I highly recommend more stringent testing of these Sun Bum products or some form of caveat emptor so other mountaineers aren't misled into thinking they will be protected by these products in the high, snowy places of the world.
I was excited to try this mineral sunscreen and was surprised that it felt silky and non greasy upon applying it on my face. I even told my husband how amazing the sunscreen was, but then my face started burning when I applied my second application 2 hours later. Then at night, it burned even more when I washed my face and I realized that my smooth face turned rough! It’s been 1 week and my face is still rough and not back to normal. I wish my face didn’t negatively react to the product. I have no choice but to return it and look for another mineral sunscreen that suits my skin.
Ive tried roughly 30-40 different sunscreens in the past few years, all of which have broken me out and this is the ONLY one that hasn't. I have super oily/combo/rosacea skin and hate any type of shine on my face. Matte girl 100%. I'm also super pale (with alot of redness). When I first opened this I was disappointed the tint was so dark. It also squirted out an oily type liquid (Didn't shake before opening) which was worrying. After shaking it up and applying, I was shocked that it blended in seamlessly with my skin tone. It gave me just a subtle hint of healthy colour and evened out my redness. The texture of this is very unique, it feels like a silky, slightly whipped/siliconey primer. Like a slippery powder? It mattifies my skin beautifully (without looking flat or feeling uncomfortable and dry) and gives an amazing pore blurring effect. I describe it as a real life filter. I could not stop looking at my face all day because I was so amazed at how blurred it looked. My boyfriend also noticed and asked me why my skin looked so nice 😅 It also layers beautifully and dosent pill. I have not tried foundation over it because I haven't felt the need to wear it since using this sunscreen, however, I do still apply a translucent powder through out the day, but I have to with any product. The biggest win for me though, was that it caused no breakouts whatsoever. No pimples, no little closed comedones or rough skin 🙌Ive been using it for about 6 months now, but have recently learnt about UVA/UVB filters in a little more depth. The main #1 reason I use sunscreen is to combat the signs of ageing. Unfortunately this sunscreen only contains a very small amount of UVA coverage in the form of 2.4% zinc oxide. So now I'm back on the (very expensive) journey of trying to find a sunscreen with decent UVA coverage that won't break me out or turn me into an oily mess (if such a product exists 😅) I think I will still continue to purchase this and use it cosmetically at night in lieu of foundation because I do love how it looks!
Great formula, went on well and worked well under makeup. Kept my oily skin fairly matte throughout the day, but without a moisturizer underneath it was extremely drying. I wore this for two days after purchasing it, the first over moisturizer, and the second in place of moisturizer. By the end of the second day my face and neck where I'd applied it stung, itched, and felt extremely dry and painful -- and when I looked in the mirror I was shocked to see that my whole face, including around my eyes, and neck had swelled up -- I'm still trying to get the swelling down a day later. I purchased this b/c it is mineral and says hypoallergenic, but there is obviously something in this formula that caused a pretty bad allergic reaction for me. I have sensitive skin, but am ... This is one of my favorite tinted mineral sunscreens. It has a mousse-like texture which blends easily on the skin. The finish is fairly matte but not a super-dry matte, and it gives a bit of coverage. The color looks nice with my light/medium neutral skin tone.I wait until it sets up before applying makeup. Once dry it works well underneath foundation. I haven't had problems with pilling or weird flaking like with some other mineral foundations. It has no scent. It's also affordable!
This is my absolute favorite face sunscreen. It has a whipped primer consistency, spreads easily on the skin, and even has a bit of a pore blurring effect. It offers good UV protection at SPF 30 and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. This sunscreen actually makes my skin look better when I am wearing it. I cannot say enough good things about this product. Please never stop making it! For some reason, I have a hard time finding it at stores, even stores that stock loads of Sun Bum products. I usually have to order it online from Ulta or Walgreens.
I have mature, light-medium, neutral undertone skin with lots of imperfections. I am most comfortable with a tinted moisturizer, primer and blush. Most sunscreens feel heavy on my skin; ditto with foundations. And anything that feels thick or heavy also makes me itch. In an effort to avoid the constant scratching, I decided to use only mineral based sunscreen products. I've tried everything from CeraVe to Drunk Elephant and La Roche Pose to Elta, yet nothing seems to be what I can wear all day comfortably. I tried this for the first time yesterday and I was impressed! I tried this for the first time yesterday and I was impressed! I applied a light moisturizer to my clean face, and then, following other's comments, shook the tube really well, and applied the dermatologist-recommended 1/2 teaspoon. Although it felt like a lot, it was lightweight, the color blended in easily, it soaked in quickly, and did a great job of serving as a primer. It is definitely a matte finish. I let it dry, applied concealer and blush over it, and left the house. Sixteen hours later, it was still intact, none had accumulated in my "creases" or under my eyes, and I hadn't scratched my face at all. It came off easily with one shot of my regular salicylic acid face wash and my skin felt fine. I did the whole thing again today, and having just washed it off, there are no signs of irritation, outbreaks, extra dryness, excessive oil, etc. I am purchasing another tube today because I can't believe this is so effective for me and it is at this price point. Tomorrow I will try mixing it with something glowy/shimmery because I need to look a bit less matte, but I am sure I can fix that problem. Neither yesterday nor today were particularly hot so I still need to see how it does in real heat and humidity, but for the moment I am happier with this than with any of the other 30 tubes/bottles in my collection.
